I called around looking to reupholster our patio furniture. I didn't get any response from half the places I left messages for and even had a confrontational conversation with another shop because I didn't quite know what I wanted--this is my first time getting furniture reupholstered and I just didn't have a lot of knowledge going into the process. I called Mike's and got a text from Ann within a day. She was patient and friendly and answered all my questions. She also asked me plenty of questions to narrow down exactly what I wanted and gave me options with prices, including advice since I was considering buying the fabric myself. I put it off for a few weeks and then at the last minute wanted to get it done a week before July 4th so we could host friends for a bbq. I texted her back and they (Ann and Tina) were incredibly kind and fit me into their tight schedule. They gave me a clear timeline and estimate, and were upfront about any additional costs that might come up. In my case, I wanted to reuse the foam and ended up paying a little extra to redo the dakron (buffer foam) but they gave me a heads up so I was prepared. I had one bench and four cushions redone. There was piping, zippers, and straps. And they were in pretty bad condition when I dropped them off. It was finished on time and it came out looking brand new! It looks so good. I'm so happy we went with them. The price they gave us was great and the workmanship was excellent. Tina even took time to meet me when I picked up the cushions to walk me through the work they did. I'm very pleased with the positive experience I had, especially with the hiccups I had with just finding a shop. We'll absolutely be using them again when we redo the rest of the chairs. Three words I would use to describe this small business...HONEST, AFFORDABLE, and EFFICIENT! I had a sofa cushion that had a broken zipper. First of all, trying to find a place to even quote me was a struggle. Many other business wouldn't even bother with a smaller request such as mine. Secondly, the places that were willing to give me a quote over the phone...well, their quotes were all $90+. But Mike's not only fixed my problem in a timely manner, but also charged me a final price BELOW what they quoted me because it did not entail as much work as they initially thought. Oh, by the way, their original quoted price was below $50 which less than half of what some other businesses quoted me. Great work ! My old set was purchased in the mid 80's from Macy's. Italian leather and very pricy. It was a set, beautiful couch and sofa (a mini-me of the sofa) but only the sofa survived. My cat destroyed my set (along with gatherings - remember them??). I thought a lot about this and researched for a long, long time and finally decided to have this reupholstered after searching online and in stores for something similar. Not only did I never find my style but found the furniture sold today (expensive or not) is made very poorly (which I already had) and not good quality. I opted to reupholster and I'm so, so happy I did. Ines, the contact, was always very prompt & patient with me, sent me samples, answered questions and arranged for the pick-up & delivery. It took about 3 weeks (approx.) . I couldn't be happier. I only wish I had the couch ... This old sofa sat in my garage for years. I highly recommend and would use them again. Hope this helps. Our outdoor furniture chair cushion covers needed to be replaced. I checked out some options and decided on having Mike's Upholstery do the job. They have a wide selection of Sunbrella fabric to choose from and we found the perfect color to match our other covers, which didn't need to be replaced. Turns out I needed to replace the foam inserts as well because they were disintegrating. The quality of their work is exceptional, the prices are competitive and the cushions were ready within the time frame they gave us. This man is an excellent upholsterer! I had a great experience and am so pleased. So I have a friend who couldn't stop raving about this place. I needed to get the end of a new rug bound, so I decided to give this business a try. He is such a nice man and really knows what he's about to work on. He understood exactly what I was asking for and said it would take a couple hours and then come back. It was around an hour and I got the call from him that it was ready. It looked great! i took a sling fabric bottom cushion from a patio swing in on a Monday morning and was told I would get a call from the lady of the shop in the afternoon with an estimate. I chose Mike's because it was close to me and had good reviews. Never got a call so I called 3 days later and left a message. 3 or 4 more days I called and left another message. Finally after a week and half I called and "the lady" answered the phone. She apologized for not getting back to me and said she would have an estimate and some fabric choices and would text them to me. A week later still no estimate or pictures. Start calling again and after a week of leaving messages "the lady" answered the phone and again apologized she was having some "personal" issues but would get the estimate done and send me pictures. Today is the Saturday before the 4 week anniversary of the Monday I took it into their shop. I stopped by and picked the piece up laying exactly where the guy put it down 4 weeks ago. It had never been touched! The guy says sorry, we've been really busy. I'll never know if they were good or affordable. They just suck at keeping promises. read more
