Captain jack is the man ! Great day on the water with Captain Adam and Mate Nano. Seas were a bit high as we started and as the seas calmed a bit the fishing picked up. We caught Bonita, Black fin, two kinds of Jacks (a bunch of them), two sharks, mackerel, king fish, mutton snapper and we hooked into a huge Mako that threw the hook after a few very exciting minutes of 'what the hell do we do with this if we get it to the boat?' (Captain had a plan, we amateurs were excitedly concerned). We have fished in over 30 states in the US and a number of countries around the world. Captain Jack who did the scheduling was quick to respond and work with us on timing and length of our trip. The gear was high quality and well maintained, mate kept lines in the water and communicated with us about what the current plan was throughout the day. Top notch fishing experience with these guys !!! Went out for a half day trip and was blown away at their knowledge, expertise and professionalism during our trip ! The put us on the fish right from the start and we continued to pull em in until the sun went down. We landed a variety of fish from a 8 1/2 ft. Bull Shark weighing around 350lbs. To king mackerel, black fin tuna, Bonita and sailfish !!! The chemistry between captain Adam and his first mate was on point, fun and exciting ! Their combination and excitement definitely added to the success of our trip ! Their knowledge of the area and the various fishing conditions also ensured that our trip was successful, not to mention the numerous techniques they used to put us on the fish, such as kite fishing ! Just finished our private fishing excursion and it was amazing. We arrived around 6:30AM and was greeted by Adam. Adam was an awesome captain and took us to great fishing spots and even shipwrecks where we caught tons of fish. Adam even let me drive the boat. Hi, I just stepped off the boat and my brother won't stop crying. We started off the trip normally, however I thought it was a little strange that they didn't tell us their names. We then spent OUR ENTIRE TRIP TROLLING. As a fishing business owner and as someone who has a lot of experience fishing, it was so weird that they wouldn't try something else. The captain and the mate didn't talk to us AT ALL the entire trip. We hooked one fish and the mate actually reeled it in for 3 minutes, I timed him, before I asked if there was a fish on. Once I asked, he gave use the rod. Additionally, the trip had a bad vibe because of the terrible chemistry of the captain and mate. Before we even stepped on the boat, New Moon, they asked us how we were going to pay. They said we could only use venmo. After I insisted on credit card, they agreed. Then, they asked how much we wanted to tip them, BEFORE WE EVEN GOT ON THE BOAT. We tipped 100 and they were not happy. My WARNING is this. I am not upset about the fishing or the fact that we didn't catch much. That, for the most part, is or should be out of their control. BEWARE OF THE BAD ATTITUDE AND CHEMISTRY OF THE CAPTAIN AND CREW OF NEW MOON. Please, please don't make the mistake we did and fish with them. ALL their other reviews, except for 1, make them out to be amazing people. It was because of those reviews that we booked them. Capt Jack went above and beyond making our holiday family fishing trip great! He would not let us come back empty handed. He is highly experienced and his expertise led us to a great fishing spot. All the fish kept biting. We saw a yellow shark, hammerhead shark, dolphin, and caught a huge 30lb grouper. We have delicious fish to feed the whole neighborhood! Captain Jack and the crew at New Moon are great. From catching our bait in the harbor to landing my first sailfish Captain Jack made sure our trip was fun, safe, and had the best chance of landing fish. He never stopped moving keeping our lines out and taking care of our fish. He treated my 12 year old boy fantastic and made sure he had a great time too. The waves were huge the day we went out, only two or three other boats were out but Captain Jack made it happen. We will definitely be back.
