Recently moved to the NOLA area and needed some new carpet put down in our home. Fortunately had some neighbors recommend New Orleans Flooring to me. Now granted, I don't know a lot about the area coming from Memphis, but I can't tell you how happy I am with the service that we received. First off, in these covid times, all matters of business are difficult, especially involving letting strangers into your home. But the crew with New Orleans Flooring, was not only extremely punctual, but they were courteous to all of my needs and even some of my incessant questions. We've had no issues with any bunching or corners coming up, and I'm still enjoying that new carpet smell here a few weeks after the installation. I really can't think these guys enough. New Orleans Flooring in Elmwood did a terrible job on our vinyl floors. We had our floor replaced with an LVP product called Strong Built Floors which was sold exclusively by New Orleans Flooring. Shortly after installation we started having issues with the flooring popping up and warping. Countless times we had to have them replace the broken and or warped boards. After months of this happening they decided to rip up the flooring and have it reinstalled "properly". Their excuse was not that there was a problem with the flooring but a problem with the installation. So we once again had to rent a storage pod out of pocket and move all of our furniture. Plus, we had to move out of our house with two small kids while they worked. This time they did an even worse job than the first time, rushing to get the entire job completed within a weekend. They did not allow the flooring to acclimate to the indoor environment and did not allow proper drying of the self leveler. There are too many other flooring companies in the greater New Orleans area that I'm sure would do a much better job than New Orleans flooring in Elmwood did. Please think twice before going with this company for your flooring needs. read more

Our experience working with New Orleans Flooring was positive from start to finish. The floor looks amazing, and we would certainly recommend them to anyone interested in replacing their flooring. John Nix, Beverly, and the installers were professional, timely, caring, and paid attention to detail throughout the process. The operative word is -Quality! Flooring today is NOT CHEAP, but you do get what you paid for! After shopping around, we can away with mixed emotions about undergoing this major investment. Especially from those so-called BIG BOX stores that are truly impressive with product choices. But we came away highly disappointed by the lack of personal attention and felt we were dealing with an entity, not people!!! Not so at New Orleans Flooring. Recently moved to NOLA from NYC. Got an apartment without seeing it before and when we walked in, the current floors were warped and decaying. A friend recommended New Orleans Flooring and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service! John and and his guys gave us an amazing deal, an accurate estimate on how long it would take to replace our floors, and his guys couldn't have been more courteous when they went about their work. I'm not a big fan of writing bad reviews, but I'm very unhappy with my carpet, so feel compelled. Things started in a promising way; we were looking for some carpet for our 10X14 bedroom and walk in closet. An easy, small job. Service was friendly and helpful, and we chose a carpet with a pattern of small diamonds. I'm going to say right here that this pattern has an obvious direction, and is very symmetrical when you view it in one direction, and not in the other. When I envisioned this carpet going in, it was with the pattern in the symmetrical direction from the entryway door, but, stupidly, didn't think that needed to be said. My husband had drawn up an accurate floor plan with doors, entry and bathroom, included, and we were reassured that the width of the pattern was enough to cover our project with no seams. Awesome. The guys who installed it arrived at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with no masks, and tracked dirt all through the condo with their shoes. I checked in on them about a third of the way through installation only to find that the pattern was going in the wrong direction. When I said something, the lead guy told me that it had to be installed that way if I didn't want any seams. I got pretty upset, stopped them, and called the sales rep. When I told him I didn't want the carpet, he apologized, but said he could only offer me a discount on a replacement carpet. Fair enough, I suppose. My real issue is with the fact that he wasn't thorough or competent enough to figure this out when he was selling me the carpet. This guy looks at carpet every day, knows the product, and understands that, unless a pattern is random, it will be viewed from the point of entry into a room. I would have chosen something else entirely if we had had that conversation early on in our initial consultation. And it wasn't really seamless at all; they cut a different piece for the closet and the seams are very poorly lined up, so the pattern is uneven there. The only reason my head didn't explode is because the seam is hidden by the closet door, but I get irritated all over again every time I walk into the bedroom and see that. read more
