I recently attended a viewing at the E. H. Ford Mortuary in Memphis, Tennessee. I have never seen…read morea funeral home in such array! It is housed it what used to be a car dealership location. The windows were dirty, the furniture was torn, you could see a room full of boxes and other unkept items in a room adjacent to the main lobby. The office was unkept with papers and old file cabinets in view. You had to enter the facility on a ramp that used to be used to put the cars in the show room. The ramp was very steep! I have never, ever seen a mortuary in this condition. When viewing the body, the body was positioned too high in the casket. Also, the make-up on the deceased was caked and very oily. Loose hair was on the face of the deceased. All of this had to be brought to the attention of the funeral directors. The pillow where the deceased's head was positioned, still had the plastic on it. That was, also, brought to the funeral directors attention. The appearance of the facility was less that what any family should have to experience, especially while grieving the loss of a loved one. The mortuary should be ashamed!

On this date, 10-3-22, another tree limb was found on the head stone. It had obviously been there a long time. Once again the stone will have to be cleaned because no one bothered to remove the fallen limb. The entire area for infants and children is never properly maintained. We had our baby buried there because we thought Calvary Cemetery staff would care properly for his grave. The front is maintained giving the illusion that the whole cemetery is well maintained, but the back kooks like trash. Very disrespectful to the families and loved ones of those that have passed. We expect much better from the staff of our Catholic cemetery.

I am having trouble with Forest Hill East concerning having the headstone that belongs on my mom…read moreand dad's grave moved back on the grave. It was moved back in June for the burial of my mom. I filed a complaint about it 3 weeks ago in the office and followed up a week later and was not moved back and went back to the office to tell them and the sales manager, Heather Jones, took me to a room and told me about them having only 2 on the groundcrew and having a long list of complaints. But she said she'll move me up on the list and label my issue as urgent and told me that after 7 days if the stone wasn't moved, to call her and gave me her card with her mobil number. After those 7 days, the stone was still not moved and I called her cellphone, she didn't answer so I left a voice message. She hasn't called back since. Just yesterday, I went back to the grave and STILL stone isn't moved plus there's several holes in the grave and I sent pics of it to her cellphone and of course told her stone STILL not moved. I'm still yet to hear from her. Service is really, really slow at this cemetary and I am very frustrated about it.
