There's nothing not to like about new realm brewery off general booth in Virginia Beach. It's so popular that you might consider hitting them for a weekday lunch! Not only does this brewery serve amazing beer and good food, they also conduct concerts and multiple events throughout the week. This brewery is so popular that I prefer to hit their off-peak times and enjoy a few beers on one of their Adirondack chairs. The service is great and I haven't ever ordered something off their menu that wasn't great! Tiki or hazy like a fox are my go-to IPAs, both are crisp and smooth. Absolutely love New Realm and recommend it to anyone visiting the local VAB area. The venue is great. Large, open spaces on the outside with plenty of seating, fire pits, games, and music. Oh, and an outside bar if needed. The inside is an industrial style vibe with a beautiful long bar stretching the length of the room with excellent taps and awesome merch. The staff are kind and friendly, and the overall atmosphere is very inviting. The food is delicious and doesn't break the bank. All in all, New Realm is just a point blank great place to hangout, indulge, and unwind. If you're looking for a venue that can accommodate any size party for any kind of event, this is your spot. We've enjoyed New Rhelm since the change and have come a few times in the past few years. Why did visiting slow down for us? Although we still enjoy coming, it is realistically only for specific moments such as a nice warm, sunny day for the kids to run around, enjoy some live music with adults socializing, or for moments when the wife and I want to recap our evening with a tasty beer, especially being how close we are to the establishment. But that is also a reason why we have slowed down, being how close it is but yet how busy it's gotten. Or the fact that we can hang in our backyard and still get a good feel for the live performances they have, which is another reason why we don't go over as often. The price for some of these concerts and special events is pricey! We feel like we could go to the Amphitheatre with how expensive some can get, and lots of times, you can barely get in or it's closed for private events. Not that it is bad, just inconvenient at times. The food is also a reason. Although it is very nice to have a main kitchen, prices and some quantity sizes are not that great. I recently ordered the fish and chips and was extremely underwhelmed. I am not one that likes to send things back, but in this case, it was agreed upon and taken care of immediately. I do recommend the wraps, which seems newer to the menu. The service, managers, and staff are great but as far as dinner, (it's not terrible so don't get me wrong), we would prefer to eat elsewhere and enjoy the other vibe this place offers. It's convenient to have this establishment nearby, especially during the summer and fall months, when the atmosphere is particularly enjoyable. If you're looking for a place that feels like fall vibes with great beer and good energy, New Realm is the spot. This place has tons of outdoor space, it's massive. There were kids running around, dogs hanging out, people lounging by the fire pits, and a live band playing while everyone enjoyed the crisp weather. The outdoor bar makes it super easy to grab another drink without having to head inside, though the inside bar and seating area are great too if you want something quieter. I grabbed a pint of their Oktoberfest beer and the buffalo chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and it was delicious! I love trying different Oktoberfest beers in the fall season from local breweries, and this one was easy to drink! The only thing I wish they did differently is how they handle food pickup. There's no buzzer or text alert system, so they just give you an estimated time and you have to go check on your order. Not a big deal, but it'd be nice not to have to hover around the pickup table or risk missing your name being called. Overall though, it's an awesome place to hang out! Especially when the weather's nice. Between the live music, cozy fire pits, and relaxed, family friendly atmosphere, it's the kind of brewery where you can spend an entire afternoon without realizing it. Decided to swing by and meet up with my daughter and family for a quick pick-me-up. Not sure if others felt the same way but this placed was slammed. I'm glad that my daughter got there when she did and was able to grab a table. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and the vibe was definitely chill. They offered a line dance lesson which my daughter and granddaughter enjoyed. After that they had some kind of game/contest going on which kept the kiddos entertained. Not only is this our local go to but we really enjoy their food. Like always we have to order pizza and fries for our granddaughter and I decided to get their hummus plate. I was pleasantly surprised and so was everyone else that I shared it with. The pita chips were good but the hummus was delicious. It had crispy chick peas on top with feta cheese. A must stop brewery in Virginia Beach. The place is especially good for young kids, as there is a ton of room outside for them to run around. The staff and owner were great with us. Yeah, they had a fairly intensive menu that we definitely enjoyed. Need some swag, heck, it's in the corner and I enjoyed some of the things they offered. So why not the 5 stars? Well you don't get something for nothing. With the popularity, they get a ton of business. This place can get CRAZY packed. With all the seating and the size of it, it still gets busy. The lines can get ya even though they have quite a few options to get beer. Then with that size and scope, all beer is in plastic cups. At one point I had a flashback from the college days waiting in line to get a solo cup poured out. Lastly, b/c it's so busy, if you're not a fan of large crowds, this isn't the place for you. Overall, this place is pretty cool. If I came here during an off-peak time, I'd definitely dig it more. I'm just more of a chill person that likes a low-key atmosphere. Plenty of space for everyone however the few times I have been there, people with dogs whose dogs may not like other dogs are often too much for me. The barking and growling followed by blame by the dog owners is annoying. It happens every time. The beer is good. Fall weather is coming and the Octoberfest is bringing in the season prepared. We came on a Saturday & this place was absolutely packed. It was bar service outside with quite a line. Inside also had a line. It's a huge space though so room to spread out. I like that they offered a cherry lime aid as I'm not a beer drinker. We ordered two apps which took quite a while given the amount of patrons. Both the meatballs and Mac and cheese were nice size portions. The meatballs over grits was surprising and not something I've seen before, but I love grits so it worked for me. The Mac and cheese had a sweet topping that also was unexpected. The outside structure looks like it has shades to close, that weren't being used. Darn I didn't catch the name of our bartender but she was so friendly and bubbly! We came through on a Saturday to celebrate a family member's wedding after-party to which accommodated crowds while offering a little libations and food for everyone's liking. Atmosphere is fantastic, beers are good, food is mediocre. Really love their oatmeal cookie porter and their slush options, but the other beers didn't tickle my fancy as much. Love all of their outdoor seating, the interior is clean and fun. This is the perfect venue for events and I will definitely continue coming when they host markets, etc. I will not however be back for food. We ordered the Wagyu burger with a side caesar salad and both were insanely bland. The burger was entirely under seasoned, which was super sad because the meat was extremely tender and could have been amazing. Even the cheese fondue served atop was basically flavorless. The Caesar salad was served bone-dry. It seemed to "have" dressing on it, but barely. My friend enjoyed the blackened shrimp on her salad but she agreed that the dressing situation was sad. I love this place. One thing about New Realm is this is a brewery with great food and great food options. Borderline gourmet cuisine considering most breweries & tap houses serve pizza & pretzels. If you're lucky burgers. Or there may be a food truck onsite. I love me some food trucks. Don't trip. Not all food truck cuisine is for me. Bae & I attended the Cinco de Mayo dinner. This is our 3rd one. We would attend more but I am not a fan of seafood. A few of these have been seafood heavy. The diner is a course paired with a beer. By beer I mean "beer flight sized glass". Yea, you can get full size beers too. Food portions are fairly generous and hella flavorful. The dinner takes place in a side room. There is a host. The chef and one of the brewmasters will come out to describe the food, beer, and the reason for the pairing. All questions are welcome. The most we've seen in attendance pre-pandemic 30 people. This time there were 8 of us at one table. There 4 large 8 top tables and a few 4 tops in the room. We've visited the Atlanta location. This company is consistent. Great beer and great food. Charleston is the last one to cross off our "New Realm Tour" The menus change with each theme. The food is very flavorful. In this case the dessert was a little too large and too sweet but paired wonderfully with the beer. If you get a chance to attend a beer dinner please do. You will not be disappointed! read more

My group planned a night out here and left absolutely stunned by the unprofessional behavior of one staff member named Amber. From the start Amber was rude and confrontational -- she repeatedly cut me off while I was ordering/talking, talked over me, and made snide comments. The situation escalated and she continued to behave that way for an extended period despite multiple polite attempts to de-escalate. Her behavior wasn't just unpleasant -- it actively disrupted our evening. I ended up leaving with about 30 people who were with me or joined our group because we felt unwelcome and disrespected. That's a huge loss of business for a night and a clear sign the staff's conduct is driving customers away. I'm leaving this review because I'd like management to know what's happening on the floor. Rude, combative service like this is unacceptable, and it would be appropriate for a manager to follow up, offer an explanation, and ensure staff are trained on basic customer service and conflict resolution. If you care about repeat customers and your reputation, please address this promptly. New Realm Brewing is one of my favorite breweries in the area! It has PLENTY of indoor and outdoor seating and is dog friendly for my pup (outside only)! I love that there is so much space and seating. I love the fireplaces in the outdoor area, so it's nice to hang out whether it's hot or cold. They keep the area very clean and they have fun activities out like cornhole! I've actually been here a couple of times for certain events/celebrations like a baby shower, bridal shower and engagement parties etc. I've even seen them have live music bands playing in an outdoor tent from time to time. Pretty sure I've seen them advertise movie nights on flyers posted around the venue as well! There is a pretty good drink and food menu as well! They have a vast selection of beers, spirits, and cocktails. During the busier times the outdoor bar is usually open, but during the slower seasons, you'll have to go inside to order your food/drinks. The food is pretty good in my opinion given that it's a brewery! I've tried the poke nachos (as seen in picture) and it was a good mixture of Asian-Mexican cuisine and it was a great portion. I ordered it thinking that it would be just a snack but it actually filled me up quite a bit! I'll definitely be trying more of their food items next time I come. I definitely plan to attend more events this upcoming year so I'll post about those when I attend :) I recommend this place to all of my fam and friends looking for a place to drink/socialize/eat with chill vibes! read more

New Realm is a modern, large venue, and has a very nice variety of beer styles on tap. Their food menu was solid, but I think the individual options may be hit or miss. I had the Cuban and Mac n cheese, both recommended by a bartender. The Mac was phenomenal - they top it with "Amber glaze" - no idea what that is, but it's tasty. The Cuban was a bit disappointing... boring mustard, subpar pork, and a boring roll. If you're going to put a Cuban on the menu, own it with good pork, a good roll pressed almost flat, and a quality mustard. But the rest of the menu looked good, I think this one dish was a fluke. Lastly - this place is FAMILY FRIENDLY. They could probably use a few more kids options on the menu, but it's fenced in, and has changing tables in the men's restroom. Just found out that New Realm Brewing was based out of Atlanta, GA. Now they have locations in Charleston, SC & now in Virginia Beach! So cool that we had to check them out! Glad that we did! They have a Sweetwater brewing feel...huge patio, pet friendly, live concerts, great food and lots of different beers on tap. If you're not feeling beers, they do sell seltzers. I was impressed with their food menu. Not just your basic pub and grub. Unique and with a twist of gourmet. We ordered lunch and flights: -Lutra Crisp (Pilsner) -The commissioner (blonde ale) -Beach Bounty (American lager) -Tropic Dream (American pale wheat) -United Craft Lager (light lager) -4th Anniversary Imperial Pilsner -Hefeweizen -Hoptropolis IPA -Lime of the Party fruited goes -Unexpected Turbulence New England pale ale -Romaine & Tuscan Caesar w/ pulled chicken -Blackened shrimp po boy w/ fresh greens Okay.. this is a lot to intake but my fave on the flight was the Lutra Crisp. Easy sipping beer and pairs great with anything. Next is the beach bounty. Love the citrus notes. Our lunch was epic! I know it was just a salad, but it was done right. Balance on the dressing, pulled chicken paired well and the croutons was on steroids. My Mr enjoyed every bit of his meal and beers. Tasted like it had alcohol in it. Tasty but melted in like 3 minutes. 4/5 -Mango T-flex. Got it since it was 9%. Nice fruity hint to it. 4/5 -6 beer flight. Cool carrying container that had numbers etched on the wood. None were super hoppy or bitter. Oddly fruity. Not hazy like as described.
