As a customer, you won't be able to really see all of the inside but there is a spacious waiting area in the lobby if you need police records. The area is sunny and clean as well as the bathrooms. There are 2 vending machines available to use as well. If you need to get a copy of your ambulance report from Fire Administration the front security will escort you too the 4th floor. Security is always pleasant and friendly.

I go to a lot of events here. It's always a nice time. Never any problems. Good neighborhood. The Pompano Beach Toy Con was a lot of fun. Lots of cool things to see like vintage Star Wars, vintage records, Pokémon items, Japanese snacks, Handmade jewelry, and different types of art and so much more too numerous to name them all. Also People dressed in costumes is always fun taking pictures with the kids. We will definitely go next year.

But it was renamed in honor of Emma Lou, the late mayor and long time commissioner of Pompano Beach. There are meetings and banquet rooms here as well as classrooms, halls, and even a dance studio. A variety of programs are offered here as well as lessons. Sports and exercise classes including pickle ball, karate, Zumba, et al. Unfortunately, they no longer hold the granny's attic that I had a selling table at for several years. This was one of my favorite events as there aren't many inside yard sales. But check out the current events and classes -- there's something for everyone.

I noticed security and police in the parking lot. I arrived before voting time was about to end. There was a few people in line for voting. It was quick and easy. I feel it was well organized with the poll workers directing you if you needed help. I finished with ease. Glad I voted early. I would do it again. So happy I have the right to vote.

The City of Sunrise was founded in 1961 as Sunrise Golf Village by developer Norman Johnson who was…read morefrom Iowa. He brought prospective buyers to this city on the western edge of Broward County by building model homes. Johnson had originally considering using Sunset in the name but reconsidered for the more optimistic Sunrise which he planned to market to retirees. The new community became famous for its upside down house created by Johnson and F. E. Dykstra. The home was completely furnished, and the carport had an upside-down car. There were many news features about the house and a feature in Life magazine. Thousands were drawn to the attraction and many stayed to make their home in the new city. By 1967 the city had a population of 4,300 and was 1.75 square miles. The city eventually expanded westward out to the edge of the Everglades for a total of 18 square miles and changed its name to Sunrise in 1971. Today the city has a population of approximately 100,000 people. The Amerant Bank Arena previously known as the National Car Rental Center, Office Depot Center, BankAtlantic Center, BB&T Center, and FLA Live Arena opened in 1998. The arena is the home of the Florida Panthers and hosts concerts and other major events. In 1990 the first phase of Sawgrass Mills Mall opened. The mall now offers a large and diverse selection of stores and restaurants. In 2007 Ikea opened which enabled everyone to get their Swedish meatball fix and be able to purchase cheap put together furniture. While most people visit Sunrise for the arena and mall, there is much more to Sunrise if you dig a little deeper. For one thing the city has some amazing parks which include Welleby Park, Oscar Wind Park, Sawgrass Sanctuary, and Oak Hammock Park. The city's commitment to maintaining well-kept parks enhances the overall quality of life for residents. Cultural events can be enjoyed at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre and Art Gallery. The city has a number of restaurants especially by the mall. \Whether you are craving traditional Floridian cuisine or international restaurants that offer a taste of global flavors, there's something to satisfy every palate. As the city grew, the residential areas were able to maintain a suburban charm, providing a pleasant contrast to the bustling commercial areas. The neighborhoods are well-planned, with clean streets and a sense of community that makes it an ideal place for families. I've heard of…read moreSunset Lakes Community Center but I never actually came all the way out here until I enrolled my daughter in a volleyball clinic. This community center has everything you could want for its local community. This development is fairly new, less than 5 years old and already is a great facility to the surrounding area. Been here a month and already I have met parents from Miami Lakes, Pembroke Pines, and Weston who come here specifically for their quality programs and awesome staff/coaches. This community center has all things athletics Volleyball, soccer, indoor/outdoor basketball, weightlifting, aerobics classes, karate, and a senior center full of activities to occupy your time. You need to pay in order to use the gym which technically speaking is just as competitive to pay a regular gym member at LA Fitness. All sports and activities are open to everyone not just Miramar residents. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Any questions regarding summer camps, sports, or events everyone is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Even the maintenance man takes pride on how clean and how great this facility is. Very much appreciated by everyone.

The building is next to the Miramar Police Station for the west side of town on SW 186 Ave., and Fire Station 100 (which fronts SW 184 Ave.), as well as very close (steps) to a church and 2 schools. A small subdivision which is part of Sunset Lakes HOA, consists of townhouses, some with garages, and you can't beat the location next door to the Shoppes of Sunset Lakes - Publix, Wells Fargo, Montessori, 7-11 gas station with carwash, fantastic vet - Dr. Schooley - nail salon, barber shop, dry cleaner, take out Chinese, Matteli's (small but great to have Italian food back in our area), large Sushi place also with very nice outdoor seating, State Farm, judo studio, and sorry cannot remember all the places there! And a fairly new (small) mini park due north of the elementary school on SW 184 Ave.(eventually we will have shade, but not in my lifetime :). NO, I am not a Realtor or agent or employee for the City of Miramar - just a homeowner since early 2001 and hope people will not only take advantage of all the Sunset Lakes Community Center has to offer, but also the general Sunset Lakes Shoppes and all that is special about our area. PS - Super Walmart 2 mi north on SW 184 Ave., and Super Target and Memorial Miramar and GINORMOUS Regional park with many sports activities, Olympic sized pool, just 2 mi east on Miramar Pkwy, etc etc PLUS great entertainment of all kinds at the Regional park. Came to the Clubhouse of this private community on this past Saturday, March 24th, to celebrate the…read moreunion of my boss and her husband. To get here you passed through a security gate and there was ample parking in front. At the club house there was a beautiful lap pool, tennis courts, basket ball court, and an impressive children's playground. Of course Nicole and I were there for the wedding. The ceremony took place at the gazebo which had views of water all around. The weather was perfectly mild with clear skies, a joyous time to celebrate a life decision you try to make work for a life time. The DJ played soft celebratory music which just about choked me up when I saw my boss being accompanied by her father down the aisle. The sermon, by a retiring Lutheran priestess, was complete and well rehearsed. The catering company escapes me but they also did a good job. Dinner entrees included a choice of Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine, steak, salad, rice, steamed veggies which paired with an all you can drink bar. Seated close to the bride and groom's table and next to the loud speakers we were the first to leave when the dance music started. We had a wonderful time. The

The different playgrounds they have for kids of this community. The security they have at the gate. Always clean and organized. Signs everywhere ... and as my uncle says, the HOA it's not too much.
