I only became aware of it after asking her to explain the charge, at which point she stated that the service fee was a tip. I explained that I did not agree to paying that amount on top of the tip I already intended to leave. She said she would correct the bill and returned with another receipt she claimed was fixed. However, nothing had actually been changed -- the total remained the same, and it appeared the bill had simply been reprinted without any adjustments. Because of this, I calculated the correct total myself for the food, drinks, taxes, and to-go boxes, and signed and initialed only the amount I agreed to pay. My bank is now handling the matter.
