I ordered fried scallops and coconut chicken. The fried scallops were good. I don't know what I was given but I definitely did not receive coconut chicken. I got a tub of a white thick sauce that tasted like sour mayo and coconut mixed together. Did NOT taste good and smelled off. Flavorless. The rice tasted fine but it hard to mess up rice. my boyfriend and i couldn't order from our usual chinese restaurant, so we wanted to give this place a try. we got the general tso chicken with white rice, crab rangoons, and chicken fried rice. i usually REALLY love crab rangoons, but the filling in these crab rangoons just tasted like philadelphia cream cheese with nothing else. i was a very disappointed crab rangoon lover. the general tso tasted okay, but it was sweeter than i would expect. my boyfriend had the chicken fried rice, and he just didn't enjoy it. after eating it, neither of us felt good. i got home from work right before writing this review and scarfed down some of my leftover general tso, but it made my stomach hurt again after eating. read more

We ordered sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein,beef with snow peas and egg foo young. It was 65$ delivered including the tip. That is a huge amount for money for Chinese food but their food was supposed to be good. The egg foo young and beef was good. The pork looked like puffed hush puppies with bits of pork inside and cold sauce in a separate container that was obviously poured from a bottle. It was not good and looked like they need Panda Express to teach them some tricks on how to cook. Ya. The chow mein, get ready for this, had NO noodles. It was literally pasty white chicken, onion and celery sludge with no noodles. Wtf. They gave us two baggies of crispy toppings that came from some store like dollar general. No noodles. Bagged wonton strips. The worst part was the portions were thievery. All dishes came in white styrofoam to go containers. The big portion of of each container was full of white rice. We didn't order rice. We ordered 1 pint portion sizes. The actual entree was put into the two small "side dish" compartments in the container. There was not very much food at all other than white rice. All this for 60$. I gave them two stars for the good tasting beef and egg foo young, but peking will never receive our business again. I would say this is ok food. Not the best nor the worst. The lomein is lacking a little in flavor. I feel like it's missing something. The crab Rangoon is pretty good as is the sesame chicken. I would recommend this place over others in the Pooler area. But if you can make the hike just travel to Savannah. read more

First of all, we've been a loyal customer for about a year now because the food is really good and has never disappointed. Customer service on the other hand? DISGUSTING. This isn't the first time this has happened but now they're really pissing me off. My husband called the first time and asked for an order to be delivered. The little kid who answered the phone said ok and hung up the phone and left my husband talking to himself. I decided to call back myself this time and a little girl picked up the phone and I told her, hey you just hung up the phone on me. Her response was "oh I thought you were done". First of all you never asked me if i wanted to add anything else to my order nor did you even wait. She then proceeds to tell me "oh you never made a pickup order" yeah I didn't, I was TRYING to place a delivery order and if you were paying attention instead of being RUDE you would've known this. After she tells me that and i told her it was delivery for the third time she now hangs up the phone. I called a THIRD time and the boy answered and I just told him what happened. He blatantly lied and said no, we hung up on them. Didn't offer an apology or anything. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE - STOP HAVING YOUR RUDE LITTLE SPAWNS WHO DONT WANNA BE THERE ANSWER THE PHONE OR EVEN INTERRACT IN ANY WAY WITH CUSTOMERS. The food is passable and the people aren't horrible but service sucks sometimes. Like another reviewer said, I did witness the mom playing with the baby instead of focusing on ringing up the customer so they could get their change and leave. She was trying to teach a 2 year old how to use the register at that moment. They also have a 7 or 8 year old taking orders and he is rude to customers and tries to rush them to make their orders. My family has been frequenting Peking Gourmet about once a week for seven years, and we love it. I've tried most things on the menu, but love the sesame chicken, chicken with garlic sauce, beef broccoli, pineapple chicken, shrimp lo mein and crab rangoon. My toddler hoovers down their shrimp with broccoli and shrimp lo mein like a ravenous teenager. Hubs sticks strictly to General Tso's Chicken because, you know, why fix something that isn't broken. Their food is always hot, fresh and fast. Yes, it's "Americanized" Chinese, but anyone expecting anything amazingly authentic or outside-of-the-box should know better than to try a strip-mall Chinese takeout place in the first place. It's standard Chinese takeout fare, but it's delish! We've tried other Asian takeout places in our neighborhood, none come close to Peking Gourmet. Staff is friendly and pretty good at communicating in English. Our order has never been incorrect in seven years. It's a good deal, too! We feed three people for around $20 and usually have leftovers. Can't beat it. Well, maybe you could, but not as far as Chinese places in Pooler, Georgia, go.
