Happy Wok is my go to place for Chinese takeout. They prepare good food quickly and sell for reasonable prices. My favorites are the Singapore Mei Fun and the Dragon Meet Phoenix. Great dishes! Their lunch menu is the best deal in town. $8.98 including tax for a large dish, soup & fried rice (94 soda & egg roll). It's enough for 2 meals for me. This is my family's favorite place to order from! I have been very disappointed the last several times the egg rolls used to be the best around, they'd re sub par to put it nicely! I asked if they changed recipes they said they had not but the egg roll is my favorite part of the meal and I haven't been able to stomach them from here lately. My family would give this place two thumbs up even though they don't like the egg rolls any more either but I can not I miss the egg rolls that were crunchy delicious ( my favorite part Is the hot greasy bottom of the egg roll) that I became so accustomed to from Happy Wok. (Three stars to 3 1/2 stars) however, the last time I ordered to go when I arrived at home and began to eat the wings that I ordered. They were excessively dry. This has been a regular for my family for years now. The prices are reasonable, the food is very good and consistent for Chinese takeout. Their portions are very generous, one combination plate can easily feed two people. They're also pretty fast which makes them perfect for lunch. This is truly a NY style Chinese takeout restaurant. From the photo menu board to the delicious sesame chicken, this was hands down our best roadside experience to date. Driving south on I-95 the options are LIMITED for a few hours passing through SC. This place, less than one mile/ 3 minutes off the highway, was a haven, and will be our go-to for lunch or dinner on road trips. Perfect for take-out, but they also have clean tables and chairs, making this an easy spot to stop, eat, and regroup. Very clean well appointed bathroom. Friendly server was smiling, helpful with my food allergy questions, and accommodating of my no breading/deep fry request. Chicken was perfectly stir fried, second only to my favorite Manhattan spot. At 9:40pm on a Saturday, this place was abuzz with locals. Set in a strip mall (the entrance was a little confusing, but don't fret, you're in the right place!) with other options (Pizza, Mexican, a grocery store, and gas stations) this is the perfect destination for travelers passing through. The woman that my order was extremely rude. She rushed me off the phone without thoroughly going over my order. The food is definitely not new york style and this is coming from someone who was raised in New York City. I mean they use peas and carrots in their fried rice what is that?? I ordered a combination general TSO's chicken and the flavor was disgusting. It had a metallic taste. I couldn't finish it and ultimately threw it in the garbage. Not much to speak of... it's a little hole that's good for takeout-- though they do have a few tables in the restaurant itself. I don't know that I'd return if I lived locally (probably find another joint to be my go-to), bit it did the job. I found it a bit expensive for takeout ($9/entree), but if you consider the amount of food you're getting, it's not all that bad. We ordered Schezwan chicken (not breaded/fried) and veggie lo mein. Each were made in less than 10 minutes and to order. They accommodated our request to have non-breaded/fried chicken which was a huge bonus. I stopped by Happy Wok on my commute from Pittsburgh to Tampa (trust me, it's more grueling than it sounds). I was with my entire family of seven, and it was eight o'clock. Tensions were high. We ordered General Tso's, Szechuan chicken, chicken lo mein, and white rice. Since we were traveling, we had to eat in. Trust me, this place is definitely exclusively for takeout. It's tiny and crowded, with just about three tables jammed against the wall. The service was pretty rude, but that's common at Chinese restaurants, I suppose. The food was prepared within ten minutes, and it tasted pretty good. I have no major complaints, other than that the lo mein had obviously sat around awhile. But that was likely our fault for going to a takeout place at 8 o'clock. Overall, pretty standard takeout food. Nothing special about it, but nothing major to complain about. read more

I was on the way back to VA from a trip and happened to see the reviews for this restaurants when the rest of my family stopped by nearby food stops. Oh did they make a mistake? I could tell when I walked inside that this was the Saturday night choice of all the townies around. I give this restaurant 5 stars. I went there for lunch on Christmas Day. They were open for regular hours which was wonderful. The guy there was polite. This is one of those small take out chines restaurants where they only have a few tables. We were eating in and didn't expect much. But the guy who took our order actually brought the food out to us and served us. I was so impressed. This location is only a few miles away from my new house. I will definitely be back. If it were in Brooklyn, it would do so-so business. But it is in Pt Wentworth. This is the Chinese restaurant that my wife and I always buy from (we live in Pt Wentworth). My favorite is the Hunan Beef. They have a number of good dishes. If you are in PTW or Rincon, go for it. I would not drive across town for it. Tonight my family planned on enjoying a nice meal together to begin our vacation. Unfortunately, we chose Happy Wok. We were certainly not happy. I feel compelled to post, my first ever Yelp post, to let others know not to waste their time and money on the over priced and subpar quality of food. Not only were the staff members unfriendly, the food was almost inedible. We asked for grilled chicken for one of our boys and the best they could do was a boiled mess of chicken served in water. The first few times I had eaten here it was really good, I had put it in my top 5 chinese joints around here. This last time though all of the seafood in my dish (crab, shrimp, lobster) was the consistency of mashed potatoes and kind of stuck to my teeth. I ordered fried rice, dumplings, crab rangoon,egg roll, shrimp with broccoli, and General's Chicken. All the items were good, but the fried items were not super crunchy....that might have been from waiting. And for such a big order the gave me a free 3 liter of soda!
