First things first the front desk lady does it all to make your stay great I wish I know her name but she had a bandana over her head and was just so nice. The pool temp was amazing some pools you step into and they're freezing but this you could go right in and not have to wait to get used to the water. Nice rooms and good breakfast not the best breakfast I've ever had but it was good, would be nice to have some more options. If you've ever wondered what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night inside a DIY indoor water park, The Victorian Hotel in Lincoln has you covered, literally. Our ceiling decided to reenact Niagara Falls around 5am., giving us a surprise midnight spa treatment. The floor was soaked, our belongings were drenched, and I'm pretty sure one of my socks floated away to freedom. When we told the staff, they graciously "upgraded" us to a new room that could only be described as... a crime scene from an unsolved mystery. There were white streaks of unknown origin on the couch and walls, so either a ghost had a wild night, or someone mistook the room for a Jackson Pollock canvas. Naturally, we mentioned this to the front desk (because, you know, basic hygiene), and they responded with the kind of hospitality you'd expect from a DMV worker on their last day. Instead of apologizing, they kicked us out for daring to hold them accountable! So, if you're into surprise showers, suspicious stains, and a side of attitude..boy, do I have the getaway for you! Would recommend only to my worst enemy or someone filming an episode of "Hotel Nightmares: Midwest Edition." read more

Quick overnight on road trip from MSP to Denver. Needed location that allowed dogs. The front desk staff was not easily located for check-in or check-out. The elevator was incredibly slow and one of the light panels had fallen but had not been tended too. The room was spacious and clean. The parking lot was full. The breakfast was ok, fairly typical for continental. The pool and pets must attract lots of families. There was quite a bit of running up and down hallways, slamming doors, calls for dogs and random barking. This seemed to dissipate after midnight. There must have been some car show or drag races up and down the main near the hotel. I probably should have done a better job of checking events. Something as simple as the hotel offering ear plugs could have gone a long way. read more

The owners obviously don't want to spend money to properly maintain this hotel. It's dirty and rundown. We were on a group bus trip and the tour company chose this hotel. The sink was grimy and leaky. The TV didn't work; probably due to bad batteries in the remote. They were out of many breakfast items and my husband said the biscuits and gravy were the worst he's ever had. Now for the positives: the linens appeared to be very clean and the surrounding area seemed nice and safe, with many nearby stores and restaurants. I'm puzzled by the good reviews, though. read more

The room is excellent, very clean. I can't say enough great things about it. After a long 8 hour drive from Chicago it was so nice to relax in the heated pool and just unwind. There was blood on the bed sheets when I got there and they had carpet bugs. It was ridiculous.

There was great parking and it was close to other businesses like restaurants and convenience stores. I had made our reservation as we just entered town. It was late and I was very tired and quick. So quick that I didn't change the number of guests from two to three. We had gotten an extremely great deal using our points and I was worried there would be an issue when we arrived. The reception employee let our third guest, our son, stay at no extra charge. I was so relieved and ready for sleep. When we entered our room I was highly impressed with how roomy it was, how clean, quiet and comfortable. We noticed that check out time wasn't until noon so there wouldn't be any rush to jump up in the morning to leave. The next morning we checked out the indoor pool and work out room. With the pandemic there wasn't a hot breakfast. My son went to the kitchen area and got our free grab and go breakfasts. The sack contained a bottle of water, a small banana nut muffin, a oatmeal raisin bar and mandarin oranges. There is also coffee and juice available 24/7. The staff here is so kind and friendly. When we were ready to leave we found out that we never unplugged our cooler and our battery was dead. When we asked the staff for help they immediately assisted. They said it was part of their service to their guests and they even keep jumper cables behind the front desk just in case they're needed. We were so pleased with our stay here we're already planning another trip. When they asked us if there was anything to make our stay better my husband said he would've liked a coffee pot in the room so he didn't have to hurry and get dressed to keep coming to the lobby to get cups of coffee. I still give this place 5 stars, I feel they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We was on the first floor but there is an elevator inside to help getting to the other floors. An A+ hotel and we'll definitely be back. read more

if you are a parent, do not take your children here!!! if any of staff do not like you they find a reason to call dhs on you,...the manager, (fat guy at the desk who works 10a.m. - 10 p.m.) has no respect for& is very rude & condescending to women,( probably because in his culture, that is 'ok', but he& his parents, who happen to be the housekeepers there, came to this country 5" years ago, seeking citizenship,& assylum, but still think that its ok to treat females like they are inferior....my son & i were exposed to swatstikas,& penis in mouth drawings for several days after someone had carved them into the elevator doors& the lady who works 10 p.m.- 10 a.m., pretended to be compassionate& address my concerns, but turned around and, instead, "gaslighted" & got other guests mad at me & also made a "false report" & had the police knock on my room door, as i was trying to move out....i paid 498\wk to stay there, i paid sunday through sunday....after they called dhs on me, i decided to check out wednesday, even though i was "paid through sunday" & i was refuseed a refund for the remaining 3 days, which amounts to over $200, that the owners really don't gaf about ripping off from a single parent, and are too pussy to make their real contact info available, because in all reality, they don't gaf & are just trying to sell the place, so...that is probably why out of the two months we stayed, three times we user that pool, & all three times, within 24 hours, my son & i were bith sick...the first floor wreeks of cat litter smell, bc an employee that lives there has two cats...the prostitution that is going on there, continues,& goes "un-seen" & "un reported" because the manager, mike, gets "special favors" for letting the hookers conduct their "business" there....& all i gotsta to say is watch out, if you are walking where one was "sitging" cuz the nasty bitches like to leave their un-capoed, hyperdermic needles laying where they sat!!! i would give this shit-hole a minus five stars if i could, but can't so....also, they do have some kind of bugs because my son & i both have bites that we didn't have before we stayed there(btw, i only gave one star bc it wouldn't let me post this review without doing so!) read more

I tend to pick this place to stay because of the convenience of knowing the area and forgetting that I am never super happy when I am here. Last stay - I remember the staff was amazing and it was one of the easiest check-ins ever. It was barely open so they were only doing bag and go breakfasts which was fine because I brought a breakfast sandwich that I knew I could have in the morning. This most recent stay was awful and will hopefully remind me that this is not the place for me. The place was crazy busy with kids running all over. Check-in took forever. The woman helping couldn't find me in the system and the one that came helped to find me but then said he paid from an outside app so we get to pick the room and she pointed at the screen. Finally I am checked in and I already know that the pool is not an option because of the number of kids waiting to use it only to their disappointment as the chlorine level was too high. At first I wasn't upset with my room - 3rd floor - I thought good away from the kids (this truly didn't matter as parents were allowing their kids to run all over until the very late hours of the night. But I am still upset that they never let me know that the elevator was broken - so yep - let's have the old outta shape man climb the stairs three levels to get to his room. After two trips up the stairs (I had picked up dinner). I sat to eat - due to the heavy rain - I changed into shorts and a t-shirt before eating - halfway through dinner I was frustrated with myself because I must have been wet when I sat on the couch to eat as the my butt was wet and then I remembered I had changed into dry clothing. I changed and went to believing that the couch had to have been wet from a previous guest who went swimming and sat on the couch - I changed, and opted to stay off the couch. Must remember - try a different hotel next time in Lincoln. read more

The New Victorian Suites in Lincoln, NE simply had the most pleasant staff I have encountered in a very long time. Everyone smiled and there were even cookies and coffee on the counter as we were greeted at the door. The next moment found us thrilled to discover that the pool was open 24 hours! We keep late hours, so, we are often not able to take advantage of these amenities. It is actually quite thoughtful as the world doesn't run 9-5 anymore, people work all kinds of different hours. The room was incredibly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was great. Finishing our stay in the morning with a wonderful breakfast spread was just the icing on the cake. When we come back through Lincoln, we are certainly going to stay here again. Great job! read more

The elevator went down three times while we were there for a total of three days. I have arthritis in both of my knees and our room was on the second floor. We had to take all our luggage up the stairs that was very painful, no help. Of course, when we checked out the elevator was out again. The floor were horribly uneven they feel like you are walking on the thinnest, cheapest carpet that has pieces of carpet tossed randomly under it. The continental breakfast was good but the room where the food is located is not very large. Be prepared to wait to make waffles since there are only 2 machines. The staff are pleasant, bed was comfortable, the room is clean and it is in town close to restaurants and stores. read more

Everything was as expected in the room - clean upon arrival and comfortable bed! I was traveling with my two large dogs so I was happy about the hotel being pet friendly and having grass behind the hotel with a poop bag station. The pet fee is 25 dollars/ night per pet. The concerns I had were around lack of safety precautions for COVID. The front desk person was not masked upon arrival. Breakfast was out in the AM and people were putting together their food without masks. At check out, you can just drop your keys without stopping at the desk. My understanding was that there is a mask order in Lincoln, so I was surprised by the lack of safety or precautions. Otherwise, a fine stop on a cross country trip. read more

While folks may not recognize "New Victorian Suites" as any national chain, this place is rather comparable to your standard three star, Holiday Inn style hotel. The bed was comfortable but nothing amazing, there is a pull out sleeper couch, adequate desk space to work with, along with a mini fridge and microwave. Free coffee and cookies are provided in the lobby round the clock, though there is no coffee maker in the room. Also the wifi network is just open, no need to sign in or enter a password at all. The bathtub was a reasonable enough size (though as a 6'2" man I'd hope for larger) and the soaps and toiletries provided were serviceable. There's also a small pool on the first floor, laundry services, a small office/meeting area (with free printing) and a hot breakfast served each morning with juice, cereal, waffles, and fresh biscuits and gravy. While no one thing jumped out at me this visit, I feel compelled to give five stars due to the diversity of positive aspects about the place, no apparent flaws during my visit, and the combination of a great location alongside an unbeatable price. Will never stay here again, recommend staying away! Had a family emergency, needed place to stay same day near Bryan Medical Center and chose this hotel due to great reviews on Tripadvisor. BIG MISTAKE! Price was $10 cheaper than name brands in the area with similar rooms and amenities. I booked the hotel around 5pm CST, requesting a King suite and we arrived at 10pm and was told we got the last room, which was double queens. I had booked through a 3rd party and know room types are not always guaranteed, not a problem. We had many issues including: a/c and refrigerator did not work properly, floor of the room actually vibrated when walking and we are not large people, someone had smoked in room previously, loud banging of doors at 2am for well over an hour that literally shook our beds every time plus some other minor issues. Pool is reported to be open 24/7 on several websites and on the hotel app that we used, upon arrival after 10pm we were told the pool closes at 11pm. Called front desk when we first got in the room as the room was nothing like we expected. Multiple cigarette burns in the sink area and on the tub. The walls are worn, paint peeling and tv was at least 15 yrs old. The room was to be a suite and when calling the desk advised them this was a regular hotel room and did not have the couch and coffee table area which two of us were hoping to use to work remotely. They advised us this room did not have that and there were no other rooms to move to as the hotel was full. The mini fridge did not work (even after 2 hours and turning up the coldness) and we had brought food and drinks with us as we purchased the hotel room knowing it had a mini fridge and microwave. For the a/c issue once we realized the room was not getting much cooler and that the a/c continued to turn off, even after turning down to 65F and permanently turning on the fan, we contacted the front desk. No other solution other than they have no rooms to move us to and an apology. I reported the issues to the 3rd party company I purchased the room through and unbeknownst to me they called the hotel which then at 1am front desk agent calls us and mentions they can try to adjust the thermostat sensor in the under window a/c unit, no guarantee it will fix the issue and again apologizes but states there are no other rooms available. We decline the assist at this point as we are exhausted. At 2am the loud banging and floor moving starts and you can feel it through the beds. After going on for 45+ min. called front desk and was told that they have long term tenants that stay on the 3rd floor and that it should quiet down soon. Then around 5-6am we were woken up by similar noises and literal shaking of the floors/beds because guests were leaving. Minor but the hotel provided USB port hub near the bed had an issue where one of the two ports did not work and the lamp that was on the wall near the tv also did not work. I did not get what I paid for. I paid for a NON-SMOKING hotel room to rest and sleep and that has working appliances that are provided, which include the a/c unit and the mini refrigerator. The room was previously smoked in, the a/c and mini fridge did not work. Also, the pool is noted directly in your app when booking, as being open 24/7 and was another main reason I chose this hotel. We could not use it because it closed at 11pm. If we had not been exhausted from the family emergency I would have left this hotel for somewhere else and that was before all the noise and movement in the middle of the morning. read more

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights recently and we recommend the central location, friendly staff and nearby amenities. Next door to gigantic HyVee grocery, so very convenient. Rooms have fridges and microwaves, so very practical. We used the indoor pool and workout room, too. Breakfast offerings are very good, with 24-hour coffee and cookies, too! Cannot say enough about staff member Kyra who helped us promptly with a TV technical issue, providing service above-and-beyond. Recommend this place highly to any travelers. read more

We had a frustrating visit this last week. As a touring musician, my husband has appreciated the ease of loading in - if not on the first floor we could use luggage carts to get to upper level rooms. Not only was the elevator broken, but the wi-fi was out, not allowing us to get our work done. Hotel staff stayed kind but did not offer much in the way of solutions. However, within hours of posting our initial more negative review, the manager reached out to us offering an apology and some resolution. Along with confirming that needed parts are on order, the manager also shared strategies to improve the experience at New Victorian Suites. We look forward to a next visit. Much lower price than Comfort Inns, and just as nice an experience, save the outdoor landscaping. One suggestion: bring earplugs. Generally alright for a motel. It's set back a quietly comfortable distance from the two streets that intersect near it. The cost for the room was super. However, there are some caveats. When we entered our non-smoking room, the first thing we noticed was - cigarette smoke! No kidding. We opened the windows and turned the fans up full blast and left - rather than ask for a different room. When we returned, the smell had dissipated. We figured it was an employee taking a quickee since the smoke hadn't been around long enough to saturate the furniture. Nonetheless, I hope the management will insure their staff do not use the rooms as break-areas in the future. The towel hook on the bathroom door was half-unscrewed so it rotated. In the bath-tub drain, right there, staring back at me, was black gunk. I removed some of it, but could not tell what it was other than disgusting. I warned my companion to shower only - "Don't take a bath in there!" As another has said, having no sink in the bathroom is a mild inconvenience. But if there were a sink in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom, surely the room rates would increase. The weather was hot, the room was kept cool without any delay or problem. The exercise room being as small as it is, would probably benefit from the removal of two machines. There were no weights, so I could not get into my favorite exercise. A couple of families were in the pool and jacuzzi, which was about all that could fit in them. This is not a complaint, but an observation. People who had used the pool, walked in the hallways apparently without bothering to dry off first - maybe that's a Lincoln thing - so there were some wet spots. Parking is close and convenient. There is a Natural Grocer's on one side of the parking lot, a Hy-Vee on another side, a Staple's, CVS Pharmacy, and Barnes & Noble within walking distance. The gunk in the bathroom and cigarette smoke brought down my rating. Despite the caveats, this is better than many less expensive, lower quality motels we have lodged in. The room was comfortable, the bed was comfortable, the sofa was comfortable, the television worked well, the digital clock was handy, the lights were bright enough without being too bright, our view from the third floor was rather nice, the staff were pleasant and conversant, the breakfast was typical - "American generic light". I hope our two major difficulties were anomalies. We would go here again, and if we do, barring a repeat of those problems, I would gladly give a higher rating. read more

Walls are paper thin, I could hear everything, the people above me stomping around till all hours of the night, the people next to me using the bathroom and people in the hallway getting ice and I could hear EVERY time someone turned on the water or flushed a toilet. The room smelled of smoke and shower was very small. I have NO IDEA how this place was rated 3 1/2 stars, they don't even deserve one star. Coming off I-80 it is 20 min out of the way. The address on their website is incorrect so I had to call for directions, you can't see it off the road so it's very hard to find. The receptionist was very nice but dumber than a box of rocks. You get what you pay for. That's the line that sums up this hotel. With that said however, sometimes your money goes a little further than other places. This is definitely one of those places. The new victorian inn and suites is a dirt cheap place with pretty well set up rooms. I think it was roughly $70 for a single night. How the hell does a place end up this cheap in a college town? I actually happened to look for this place because of tripadvisor and it turns out that it was quite a good decision. I happened to get a room with a king bed right across from an elevator - no doubt because I called at about 10PM to stay at about 12 (en route to Chicago after Wyoming). Just like the other hotel I reviewed - food was pretty close to disgusting but the place was overall pretty decent. We had an unknown stain on the carpet (red, but I'm assuming not blood), but the rooms themselves were more than accommodating. Food consisted of some nearly expiring fruit, some frozen waffles, biscuits and gravy. Yep. Or you can skip their breakfast and there's an awesome health food store about 100 feet outside the hotel if you don't mind riding your Rascal over there for some significantly more tasty options instead, which I strongly suggest. read more

Great hotel for the price. Comfy beds and clean rooms. The pull out sofa bed was great to accommodate all 5 of us.

The place is situated at 48th and O street which is roughly 20 blocks west from downtown Lincoln and 15 blocks east from the mall and hospitals etc. I go to Lincoln at least once a month for entertainment, bars, great good etc. and have been looking for the best value. The airport hotels seem to be the same cab fare in and out of downtown as this place. I paid $59 for the room, with taxes and fees it was $65 and change. Cab fare downtown was $14 each way...I always throw the cabbi a twenty and tell them to keep it...So all in all I've decided if you can get a room at the Holiday Inn or Embassy etc. downtown for less than $100 to book it as you can walk it easy and be close to home. The costs are a wash and you don't have to stand on O street looking for a cab all night. The room was great. Nice. Clean. I felt safe. It's located near a bunch of shopping, Target, Best Buy etc. so that was nice as well. Free WiFi and free parking which was a plus. Good place and when the rooms go on sale I will make reservations. read more

I really like new Victorian suites it's a funny place to find a little bit hidden behind a bunch of strip malls on the next block over. But I'll tell you what it's worth finding. The staff was excellent the room was perfectly clean comfy large they have a 24-hour pool they have a 24-hour workout room and right across the parking lot is an organic grocery store I mean everything I could think of was was right there. Your breakfast was a bit boring, but maybe I'm getting bored by having seen so many that look alike. I guess biscuits and gravy doesn't make a hot breakfast to me. But they didn't have other things that were alright. I'm at Friendly engaging people there and had some nice chats. The front counter and the check-in was smooth as a whistle. I could stay at this place again anytime and found it perfect for my needs read more

Not as great as many reviews make it out to be. The rooms are big but it's really inconvenient to have the sink be outside the bathrooms. It makes it virtually impossible to wash up in the morning without waking up anyone else in the room. They did not have HBO. The exercise room was extremely tiny and the continental breakfast offered was mostly Little Debbie type snacks. Overall it's not a bad stay, but not the luxurious accommodation you may be led to believe it is from most reviews. read more

What a great deal?!?! Compared to other hotels like holiday inn, this place is good and meets all expectations. When you consider we paid $60 bucks for the night on hotels.com this place ROCKS! We would absolutely stay here again. Clean room, nice and helpful staff. Breakfast could have been better, but for $60 bucks we can stop for coffee on the way out of town. Excellent VALUE! read more
