Weir House gave me the shittiest pizza of all-time Saturday night. They managed to forget the sauce, for f's sake. Craving a steak and cheese from somewhere new I found this place. I ordered a steak and cheese with extra cheese. I also ordered a buffalo chicken pizza skin as it sounded different and unique. The steak and cheese tasted good but was more bread than steak and not much cheese at all sadly. The buffalo chicken pizza skins were actually really good but the sour cream that came with was hood pre packaged. I've never seen that before other than a fast food drive thru place. That was really the one that took the score down from restaurant to just a regular pizza corner shop. read more

I really hate to leave another one star review but the fresh haddock fish and chips? Fresh is supposed to mean never frozen. Not only was it previously frozen I'm not even sure that it was haddock. I catch my own fish and vacuum seal it and you really can't tell the difference but this stuff was just not right. Even the Cole slaw seemed as though it was two weeks old. In the past the pizza was the best. My last 2 orders, nasty. Paper thin crust (seems like the dough might be old) skimpy on the toppings.

The food was absolutely terrible...the fried food -- totally under cooked. It was a take-out order and the majority of the order found a home in the garbage disposal. When the restaurant was contacted, one was "greeted" by a most obnoxious receptionist...rude and totally disrespectful! Having lived in Taunton my entire life, I can say that I have never been subjected to such an intolerable experience. I do advise others to seek their dining at other locations...if living in the Weir, perhaps the Riverhouse, where the food is dependable and the ambiance are most tolerable. read more

Get out to car and open container with sub. Not toasted (or so I thought). Brought it back in (cuz there is a sign in lobby that states if you're dissatisfied you have to bring food back). I've come here to eat for years and have never been disappointed by the food. But this past Sunday, I ordered delivery for the first time and I cannot speak highly enough. My last take-out experience prior to this was with another local restaurant and the girl on the phone completely botched the order, so I was nervous to call over the phone again. The girl taking delivery orders here on Sunday was incredible. She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and 100% accurate. We got loaded buffalo nachos, grilled sirloin steak tips, and "The Classic" burger. I wasn't expecting too much out of the nachos but they were truly huge and loaded. I was absolutely shocked by the portion and quality, I highly recommend them. The sirloin steak tips were cooked exactly as I had hoped. They were delicious! I have an incredibly nit-picky partner when it comes to food (he's not from the area and believes that the food is always better in his hometown). I cannot recall a time when he actually really enjoyed a restaurant from here, until Sunday. He told me those were the best nachos he's ever had and he's excited to keep ordering from New Weir. Stopped in on a Tuesday night and got a seat at the bar. The bartender Kayla was super nice and attentive. We ordered our food and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. More than a neighborhood pizza parlor! I used to eat lunch here a lot when I worked in the Taunton area. It had been a few years, but I ventured back recently, since a friend was playing in the lounge. It was the same friendly, casual atmosphere I remembered, with a comfortable familiarity among the staff and patrons. The menu, while not extensive, covers the basics. The food, however, was outstanding - better than I recalled. We started out with draft beers, which were probably the coldest beers we've had out in recent months. Kudos for that. I ordered the Veggie Calzone and it was nothing short of amazing. It was stuffed with broccoli, mushrooms, onions, black olives, fresh tomatoes and tons of melted cheese. It was served with a side of marinara. I couldn't finish it and, I must report, it was even better the next day! My date ordered pasta and was very pleased as well. We were so busy enjoying ourselves that I forgot to take photos, but I did grab a shot of my leftover calzone. We'll be making the trip again, for sure!! read more

Not impressed. Got steak tips. They were tough. Green beans were from a can with stewed tomatoes tossed in. Baked potato was ok. My son got the chicken Parmesan. The pasta was very wet as though it wasn't fully drained. We never saw the waitress after she dropped the food off. She was running around like crazy Because she said they were busy. We've had pizza from here before, it seemed good. We called in 3 pizzas and 1 dozen clam cakes to take out. It's Sat 7/20 time 3:30. They tell us 25-30 minutes.We leave, 16 minutes and we are there. My GF goes in, order's not ready, that's fine...great...we will get fresh hot pizza to take to the party. She asks them to check 2 more times, not ready. We wait about 20-25 minutes, it's ready we take it and leave. We get to the party, the 3 large pizzas are burnt. The clam cakes are all burnt. Are you kidding me? These morons burnt the food while we were sitting there waiting for it, and after we asked them THREE times to check it because it was taking so long? The help here is incompetent. Chowder is too thick and taste like flour. The clam cakes are heavy and doughy. The the thing that breaks my heart is the pizza. Greasy and tasteless. What happened? Paid $17 for it, and it came with 2 pieces of fish and an embarressing amount of fries, maybe a handful. Food was like ice, i had to come home and warm it up. Coleslaw is tasty and not too mayonaise-y.. however for the price u pay you should get a cup full, instead you get a small "dipping sauce" container enough to fill a cavity. For $17 i could go to other great seafood spots and get a large portion, deliciously fresh plate. But when you live locally, fresh seafood in Taunton is hard to come by. They do have other good items,my fav is the Boneless Buffalo wings. For seafood id say overpriced and you can get better. Not really worth the $$. I recently started ordering from here since they started to deliver. The portions are huge, food has been correct and hot upon delivery, everything has been delicious. I love the seafood platter, chicken shish kabob and steak tip dinner. The clam chowder is thick and out of this world. Delivery can be spotty - sometimes they can't deliver since they don't have a driver, sometimes the driver starts at 5 and other times it's flawless no matter the time but overall I'm happy when I can get delivery and sad when I can't. This place is a family favorite! Be it pizza, fish & chips, or baked fish, I get food from New Weir Pizza at least once per week. The fish & chips are delicious and very well portioned. The baked fish is excellent as well, serviced with rice. And the pizza is some of the best in town. With plenty of seating available to eat there, and a full bar in a separate room, there is something for everyone here. Don't want to miss the next new episode of CSI? No problem!
