Came in on a walk in and I had a good experience. I found parking easily on a road nearby. I didn't do much chatting while I was there, I had gotten a gel regular pedicure. I cheated on my usual nail place last week with New West Nails and... I AM SO HAPPY I DID. No it's not all fancy from the outside but good lord did that lovely girl do a fanTASTIC job on my cuticles and my polish and my heels and all the extras they pack into that pedi was such a nice change! We were not nickel and dimed for every treatment. I will so, so be back. Please don't tell my regular place though. I still love them and will hit it up for sure.... but I will also go out of my way every now and again for the New West Nails love. read more

Clean and calming atmosphere! I'm surprised I only live about a 2 minute walk from the salon. My first time coming to this salon was two weeks ago! The ladies were very nice. I came into the salon as a walk-in customer around 2:30pm (their sign outside says they accept walk-ins, but I'd recommend calling to set an appointment just in case it gets busy, especially when it's near the holidays!) Their pamphlets are displayed outside by their door if you like to take a look at the services. No one was there at the time I arrived so they immediately sat me down and asked what I would like to do with my nails. I asked for gel nails with extensions. Do keep in mind they do have strong Vietnamese accents but they were easy to talk to! Process took about 30-40 minutes, ladies took their time to perfect the process of adding the nail extensions (they will ask what shape you like), applications of polish (you are given a basket full of nail colour samples), and finishing coat (matte or regular). Prices are acceptable and they do give you a stamp card by the time you're paying. My nails have been amazing after I had them done. No chips, breaking, or peeling. I'm coming back today to change colours as well. First photo is when I had them done after leaving the salon, and the second photo is from today before I head back to them to do a fill. Don't waste your time here!!! The last time I went to this place was pre-covid and the service was pretty good. I even recommended it to my friends and family. BUT... NOW... coming back for the first time and the service has definitely gone downhill and much worse than I have ever received in all of the salons I've gone to! I booked an appointment to get the shellac mani and pedi, which is what I normally get. There were 3 ladies working there that I could see. They were all working on someone. I could tell right off the bat that they booked more customers than they can handle! First off, I only arrived 6 minutes early and the oldest lady told me rudely to come back in 10 minutes. I like to be on time and not be late, but that's fine I get it, I have to social distance so I waited outside. I came back in after 10 minutes and washed my hands as asked. I sat down on the couch and picked out the colours for my mani/pedi. Another 10 minutes later (passed my appointment start), I finally got a seat at the chair to soak my feet. Then maybe 5 minutes later, a young lady finally started working on my pedi. She was nice and friendly. An older lady started working on my mani. She was ok but she did not listen to what I wanted and did not even cut my nails evenly like I asked her to. Some nails were longer than the others. I let it go because I didn't want to stay there longer and she might mess up my nails even more. While getting my nails done more and more people came in and realized their appointment times were not honoured either but maybe it was just an off day...I shrugged it off... Near the end of my appointment I saw someone walking out with their eye lashes done so I wanted to get mine done too! The other ladies did not know the schedule for the lash booking so the oldest lady (the rude one) took my booking (or so I thought) and told me come back the next day at 2 pm. Well.. that was a complete waste of my time because the oldest lady obviously did not even write my booking for 2pm the next day in the schedule book! I came in and wasted my time! I am never coming back again and I'll take my business and referrals elsewhere! read more

In love with New West nails!!! This salon is clean, professional, affordable, and they take their time not to mention do quality work. Jenny is amazing, she is a wonderful lash technician, always making sure my eyelash extensions are just the way I want them. The eyelash extensions she does are always perfect and voluminous. She really puts the time and effort in and has even stayed late for me. Jenny's acrylic work is amazing, she nails them every time to perfection! Also if your not one for acrylic nails they offer a "dip" nail service which come in a large variety of shades and tones ( it's almost like gel polish but is gentler and protects yours nails) Highly recommend this salon if your looking for good quality work at an affordable rate. The nail lady, had another lady to look after, and she only worked with her nails. Also a week after I got mine done, they started peeling and started to chip and loose colour. My youngest daughter who is 7 got her nails done with me, and gave her stickers on her feet, that I had to pay an extra 5 dollars for, feel off the day after our appointment. Wouldn't recommend to anyone going To get shellac or kids nails done. high prices and bad service. ver disappointment read more

Baffled by all these positive reviews.. my experience was Absolutely ridiculous.. had an appointment for 3:30 and didnt start until 3:55. Nail tech didnt speak a word or smile. Whole thing felt rushed, then she proceeded to make one of my thumb nails a completely different size, when i asked if she could fix it she just filed it more narrow.. almost walked out without paying. read more

So first of all II went in there for a refill and a pedicure and asked the lady if the color I chose she could put on hands and feet that I wanted them to match. She said oh yes no problem. She started my nails and then before putting color send me to the chair for a pedicure. I tired to tell the girl I had already chose my color but it seemed they did not know what color I chose. We finally found the color on the nail chart and then the girl picked the color off the board and showed me and I said yes that is fine as I though she was choosing the color I asked for. Anyway long story my colors did not match at all and then to be told well you chose the color. I said I chose a color but did not turn like on her examples. She said oh tell are old so colors are not fresh and old so that's why. I guess she thought it was my fault. Then I while my pedicure done I felt burning under my feet when she was taking off the skin then she put my feet in the air dryer and it was vey hot, tried telling her but she did not seem to understand what I was saying. Anyway next day my feet were so sore that I had to put socks in my sandals and realize she had filed my skin to a point where is was burned and feet were very sensitive because of the heat. I called them and they said oh come talk here thinking they should compensate or not charge me for such a bad experience. She said show me your feet and I took pictures of my burns and she said oh your feet are healing so in a couple of days you will be fine. ????? I drove all the way there to be told that. What a joke!!!!! Truly bad customer service and will never go back and salon is dirty and not to fresh looking. read more

Sad to say because the ladies were really so kind and sweet, but perhaps they can work on their technique to prevent this from happening: unfortunately my nails peeled at the moons after only a week and got worse, they all peeled to the point anything I touched was getting stuck underneath the polish that was lifting up at the moons. But the experience was nice, the staff was kind, the colour was nice while it lasted. read more

If you want full volumed lashes, I suggest coming here. Jenny is really good at giving you that for a low price and in a efficient time frame. She usually does 5d to 6d on each natural lash (which is why she's so quick) The reason i'm giving 3 stars is because when she glues it on, instead of it being glued to 1 individual lash, it'll be glued on to 2-3 natural lashes. read more

I'm surprised at all the positive reviews. I do not know how to do design on my nails so I like to get that done by a professional. However, I don't want to pay extra for gel nails as I'm already paying for the design. The ladies seemed angry that I don't want gel nails every single time I come here. I still tip even if it's a regular manicure so I don't know what their problem is. I decided to try Professionail at Metrotown and I'm pretty sure one lady that works at New West Nails also works at Professionail. It was quite disappointing. read more

I went for a Pedicure an hour before closing and was very happy! May, who did my pedi is a very friendly, knowledgeable lady who took her time. I had the best leg massage I have EVER had anywhere by May! She really took her time and massaged my legs for a good length of time. She did a good job of painting my toenails and drawing a flower on my big toes. I totally recommend going there...if you get May and have a pedi. $35+tax and tip. :) read more

The ladies were great especially Jenny but sad to say been here a couple times, while doing my pedi, I realised that they do not sanitize the Gel Nail Led Light Lamp after every use by customer. If you are doing the regular nail polish is fine but I am being fussy as I am with having clean equipment is important and especially when you have to put in your ten fingers into the lamp. I have my gel nails done there a couple of times and looking into the lamp, I can see old polish not cleaned inside. I actually stopped going there for gel nail polish. Hopefully the next time if I do go back, I would like to see this being cleaned up with no old polish sitting inside the lamp. read more
