Every summer we rent a jet ski from these guys. We take a ferry over from New York City to Jersey, quick ferry ride. A guide takes us our individual jet skis, and it's the highlight of my summer going down the Hudson, racing down the Hudson, to the Statue of Liberty, around the Statue of Liberty and back up the Hudson. Took a one-hour harbor tour with my wife. I loved it! It's not what I thought it might be potentially, but once I experienced the natural limitations of imperfectly smooth water, I realized it could not be better. We had great weather (that's free!), friendly and safe guides, and a harbor that seemed uncrowded enough. We went on a Thursday, so the day ferries were busy moving commuters around, but we were the only personal watercraft on the water and we encountered a manageable number of NYFD boats, fishing boats, and luxury boats, I would only expect better if I were willing to (1) improve my own ride by becoming a jet ski expert, and (2) get on my own personal custom tour (which I did not pay for or set aside the time for). I also realized what folly it would be for a passenger to take video while moving at tour speed. You could do it, but the video would be bouncing all over the place and you might also lose your passenger after a rough wave. You would need that for full-time video, as the guides are paying more attention to safety and only taking pictures after they pause the tour. The one-tour gets you the meat of the harbor views - from up around 34th St of Manhattan and a view to the Empire State Building, to the Financial Center, Jersey City views, Lady Liberty, the Brooklyn Bride (and very close to the Williamsburg) and the South Street Seaport. It's great. Covering this ground and having any time for pictures requires speed. At one time, I think I was up to 45 knots in spurts, but generally just over 30. This will bang you around at times unless you're pretty skilled and have excellent throttle control. Mind you, I found my jet ski to have a very "tight" throttle as I describe it. It was like a small version of the brake on a ten-speed. I needed a strong tension to hold it, and changing position under high tension seemed to let it move too much. The jet ski would lurch. If they can get smoother throttles (can you get some like motorcycle throttles), that might make the riding less challenging. I paid for the pictures and got some. I wanted more pictures, but time is limited and these guys have to put awareness (safety) first and then progress on the tour second. I would suggest if you want a lot of photos, hire them for a private tour or a longer tour and you'll get more pictures. My wife is a real non-adventure/non-athletic person. She says she was literally praying to God before we even got there. Then she kept telling me to slow down. I can't blame her. I was surging and stopping, especially in the first 20-30 minutes as I got the hang of it. This experience can be a challenge for some who are fearful of everything. If they are like my wife, they eventually realize they won't die and it's actually safe as long as you are mindful of the surroundings. Of course, the guides do their part to hold you before traffic crosses, but sometimes you're widely spaced and you must use your own good judgment not to cut in front of the 30-foot luxury liner that for heading to open waters. read more

I've been sitting at my window watching these jet skis go down the river all summer. We finally decided to find out what the deal was...and it was friggin' awesome! I was super concerned about being out on the water when the temps were in the 60s, but they've got it covered. You change in tents and leave all of your stuff locked up in the harbor. Opted for the dry suit to be safe, and was glad I did. The first giant wave that came flying over the top was a shock, and after that it was just plain funny. You get used to it and realize you're just going to be wet the entire time, but like magic everything is actually dry underneath the suit. Since it's the end of the season, it was just the two of us and a guide out on the water. We're locals, so we didn't need the full show and tell of the buildings and simply enjoyed flying down the river at 45 mph surrounded by ferries, sailboats, and container ships. You can go at your own pace, so I'd recommend this experience for everybody. A great adventure for locals and a unique was for tourists to see the city!! read more

They explained what to expect especially with New York water being more choppy than Caribbean waters. I was nervous at first but our guide was so amazing and made sure I felt comfortable. A birthday gift for my gf, we did the NYC Harbor Tour, which lasted about an hour. Definitely a highlight and a super fun way to sightsee some of the most iconic landmarks without all the crowd! Also jetski. Do I need to say more? After extensive research, we pulled the trigger and booked a 12:30pm reservation. The reservations was technically at 11:30am because you must arrive an hour before the reservation time to check in, get changed, watch some safety video, and walk down to dock to get all the jet skis out into the water, and follow all the safety instructions given. Our tour guides on this trip were Paul and Marquis, where I interacted with Paul the most. Both awesome people, and made sure we understood how to operate the jetski, tips, where the ladder was in the back of the jet ski in case we fell off our jetski (which did happen to two other people riding tandem who somehow flipped their jetski). While most people went 30-40 mph down the river, my gf, myself, and another older gentleman strayed behind going around 20-25 mph. We didn't feel rushed one bit and Paul occasionally circled back to make sure we were doing fine. Paul took photos for us as well in front of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and other candid moments. They get AirDropped to you at the end of the tour. Wetsuit was not provided because it is the summer. So be prepared to come in a bathing suit/swimming trunks and clothes to change. Phones are not allowed, so we brought GoPros with us to record, but somewhat challenging to use because the current is always shifting the jetski in different directions. May be best to just let the guides take the photos as they probably have done this a bunch of times and know how to take great photos on the jetskis. If you do decide to bring GoPros, make sure they're strapped onto your life jackets as high as possible. The guys helping you get on the jetskis can assist with where to strap the GoPro. read more

So much fun! If you are thinking about it, do it. I did the 90-minute 2 bridges tour on a 2-person jetski, and it was a blast! Scuba Dave was our guide, and he made the outing a lot of fun, while making me feel very safe and well-guided. Prior to this outing, I had been on a jetski only once, about 20 years ago. Scuba Dave went through all the instructions and safety protocols clearly and thoroughly. This gave me a great deal of comfort and confidence handling the craft, even in quite choppy waters. An amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. Riding on JetSkis over the lower side of Manhattan. Booking online was simple. Getting to Pier 13 was even simpler. As long as you got to Penn Station, directions to how to get there can be inquired by the service desk but to make things simpler, all you have to do is ride the 126 Bus. With a fare of 3.75, it's also quite cheap. The booth that you have to go to, once at Pier 13, is also easy to spot. The staff will be waiting for an informational video. Once done, there are changing places as well as storage for all your stuff. For my booking, I booked a one-hour trip and rode tandem with my girlfriend. We also bought the video package and Scuba Dave was our instructor. Scuba Dave made this experience extra memorable. Once on the water, as long as the occasional call out to group up for pictures or a video recording, you're allowed to practically wander wherever you please. Making the tour extremely memorable. We recorded lots of videos and even took pictures near the Statue of Liberty. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is willing to go a little bit outside their comfort zone! read more

I went jetskiing on August 6th, which was a Monday, for my boyfriend's birthday. The group on our tour included the two of us, four other riders, and the tour guide. The other riders had the one hour tour. WE had the one and a half hour tour. The first instructor with the long hair was really cool, funny, and patient. He was welcoming and made us feel like we knew him from before. This instructor explained things in a way that took every last bit of nerve right out of me... this was my first time jetskiing! This same guy told our tour guide, who was going to be riding alongside us, to just give the other party of four the extra half hour and "rip it" straight up the westside, up, towards the George Washington Bridge (GWB). I specifically chose this tour and paid extra for THIS tour because it included the GWB; this was suppose to be meaningful to me since I grew up right by there. ***UNFORTUNATELY, the tour guide took it upon himself to change the whole route and go near the PepsiCo (a sign in Queens). He did not ask us if we were okay with this or even tell us... we only knew that we did not make it to the GWB because we know what the bridge looks like! After the tour, we brought it up to the manager (Bryan). When Bryan asked the tour guide why he did not do it, the tour guide gave his explanation and Bryan seemed okay with it... I think that if someone is running a business, he/she should ensure that people get what they pay for. Do not get me wrong... the jetskiing was an experience like no other. Jetskiing in New York City water was breath taking. The tour guide was cool, but if I spent a good amount of money for something, I am expecting those services. In addition to this, after requesting my pictures, I did not get all of them. I brought this to the attention of the person who was emailing me, and then he sent the rest. I felt like compared to other groups, the pictures that were taken of us were not cool and were very disproportionate to the others. read more

After waiting at the dock for an hour, we were told our Jetski had broken down on the previous tour and that we wouldn't be able to go out. Really annoying but clearly no ones fault.... we were then told to wait and the owner would call us in 5 minutes to discuss. We received a call an HOUR later, where the owner (Brian) proceeded to tell us rectifying this situation "wasn't a top priority for him" which is why he didn't call us back immediately. Whenever I hang out in Hoboken I'd see jet skis cruising by and always thought I'd give it a try one day. Now I just wish I'd done it sooner! To test things out I did the shortest tour, a 45 min ride to the Statue of Liberty and back. Tour guide remained nearby the entire time and was keen to guide us around boats and any other obstructions in the water. Such an exhilarating feeling cruising by the the shore at my own pace. I booked this as a birthday gift for my fiance and he had the time of his life! It's not the cheapest activity by any means but I will say it was a refreshingly unique experience that bust us out of our Covid slump. If you've been getting major cabin fever through the pandemic, or have just lived in the city for a while and feel like you've seen and done everything at this point, I would totally recommend giving this a shot. Things to know: - Wetsuits and life jackets are provided so even if you book a trip late in the season (we went Sept 20), you don't have to worry about getting cold. Just come wearing a swimsuit and you'll be good to go. They have changing tents right by the jetskis and a big plastic storage box (which they lock up) where you can stash your stuff. - You'll be barefoot on the tour, just FYI, so no need to pack waterproof shoes or anything like that. - Make sure you bring your ID and the credit card from booking. They actually do check all that. - The pier where they're based has a restaurant/bar, public bathrooms, and a few food trucks as well if you're looking to eat/hangout before or after your tour. You'll need a mask to enter; there's a guy stationed to check. - BIGGEST THING TO NOTE: They let you take GoPros but phones aren't allowed on the tour, even if you have a waterproof case (like I did) which was a huge bummer. They said it's because of 9/11 protocols which seems like bs since the instructor uses a phone to take photos for the group. I imagine the real reasons are 1) to encourage people to purchase a photo package 2) to avoid liability if someone drops their phone in the water and 3) general safety so people aren't like taking selfies while driving -- all of which are totally fair but I'd prefer if they were just honest and upfront about it. I will say the instructors were super nice and gave us a few comp photos anyway, realizing the cell phone rule wasn't mentioned on the website. If I could go back, I would just spring for the photo package (extra $25 I think?) purely so I could get the shots by the Statue of Liberty. The views were ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE and I kinda regret not getting them. I think you can skip the videos package though ... but to each their own! - Lastly, I will say this activity isn't for everyone. I was terrified for most of the tour and couldn't handle the speed. The tour guides are very hands off, which was a pro and con. They didn't rush me but also didn't provide much hands on instruction. They also *both* stay up in the front of the group, rather than having one lead and one stay at the tail end to help stragglers like me. At one point, I fell behind and had to kinda guess which way the group had gone (luckily I have good eyesight!). tl;dr There's a lot to consider but it's worth doing in my book. I am someone with a strong fear of being in open water and I was definitely really scared going into it but New York Harbor Jetski made it such a fun experience for me to remember. Scuba Dave was our tour guide on the water and was as informative as could be before taking us out. He taught us how to operate our jet skis and what signs to do when we're in need of his help. His lifejacket was also equipped with what looks like first aid supplies. Knowing we had an experience leader as our tour guide was both assuring and calming. I bought the video and photo package and Dave made sure to capture my moments on the jetski. I'm still waiting for the videos and photos to be sent to me but I'm pretty sure he took amazing vids and pictures! I finished the tour not being as afraid of water and jetskiing and 100% would DEFINITELY rebook with them again. It was a blast! The service was great too. We bought our tickets online. When we got there a guy was waiting for us at the deck, he led us to the jet skis. Then there's an instructor/leader at the jet skis who teaches us how to use the jet ski and leads the way through the Hudson River. I'm a beginner and there was another girl who was also her first time jetskiing. So don't worry if you've never done this before, it's absolutely fun and safe. They provide you life jackets. Ok.. Now THIS is an adventure and a unique way to see the city. At first I was super nervous, I mean you are being let loose on a machine on a river with huge cargo ships. The Team was great at easing my fears. They went over all the safety precautions, provided water and sunscreen and were very attentive. Once you hit the open water at 35 miles an hour, it can be adrenaline high scary but awesome! Try not to scream or talk because it was so bumpy and rocky I swear I am still coughing up Hudson water that I swallowed. The first stop is The Statue of Liberty and then Brooklyn Bridge. You do get some photos taken of you but for an extra fee and this is worth it, so make sure you do it!! It can get a little cold so dress Warner than just a bathing suit. They provide life jackets. Watch out for the cargo ships and even though I shared a jet ski with my friend it may be easier to just go solo since it's extremely choppy and hard to hang on. Customer service was non existent. All the staff were condescending when talking to paying customers. We were insulted by employees after attempting to rectify a situation. They were talking about drinking before work and how hungover they were from the night before. Not one staff member was wearing a mask when interacting with riders. The main tour guide Bryan was yelling instructions at us with no mask on after telling us to put our mask away in the lock box because it will fly away. It was so unprofessional and I did not feel as if they were taking safety seriously. They treat you like they already have your money and couldn't care less. I am in the process of making a formal complaint to the city of Hoboken. If you are looking to jet ski in the Hudson I recommend Sea The City out of Jersey City. It's cheaper and after speaking to people who have done both they said Sea The City was a much better experience. Trust me you don't want to deal with this staff when being over charged. read more

When you see a shimmery figure break from the water in NY Harbor, it could be one of the seals that swim in our seas but more than likely it is a State of the Art New York Harbor Jet Ski. As the ideal Father's Day gift for my husband, we traveled to Hoboken NJ to begin our adventure. We were not disappointed, after a briefing of the rules by Diver Dave, we began our quest for excitement, while Scuba Dave made sure we found it. After a quick photo of our group, we headed into NY Harbor cruising by Lady Liberty we experienced views like no other. As I ride on the Staten Island Ferry past the Statue of Liberty almost daily, I appreciate how proudly she watches over NY harbor, like a mother watching over her children, but nothing can compare to Jet Skiing about her base, the thrill of jumping the waves while looking up to her blue-green hue aged with the salt of our waterway but still as beautiful as she was in her copper-colored glory. Scuba Dave, with his quick wit, eye for details when taking photos (get the photo package it's worth it) made sure we experienced NYC at its finest. As you pass Hudson Yards, Governors Island, the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, our Seaport you realize how different our city looks when seen with the glimmering Harbor beneath you as you ride the waves and catch some air (a lot of air) while peering into our landmarks from a completely different perspective. Don't wait for a holiday, this is more than a memory to share it's a moment in your life you will never forget. Make sure you ask for Scuba Dave (and tip him well, trust me he's worth it). read more

I recently went there, i signed up for the Photo and Video Package. The staff was very friendly, it was a total blast. However, I was a little underwhelmed with the Photo/Video Portion. They forgot to take the video and only had a couple of pics of me. Probably because they had so many people in this one group at the time.
