Had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and the experience was amazing. I surprised my hubby with this gift and he had a great time. They explained what to expect especially with New York water being more choppy than Caribbean waters. I was nervous at first but our guide was so amazing and made sure I felt comfortable. After a few minutes on the jet ski I felt way more comfortable and was able to enjoy it. The view of the Statue of Liberty and dumbo was my favorite part. The guide took amazing pics I'm So thankful for that. I can't wait to go back thanks again for such a wonderful tome.

We had an amazing experience with Scuba Dave! When we got there, we checked in and changed and Scuba Dave went over all the guidelines and rules! We started the trip towards the city skyline and then the Statue of Liberty and bridges. When we got to the halfway point, we were able to switch drivers so I got to drive towards the bridges. If you decide to do 2 people on one jet ski, I definitely recommend switching at the halfway point so you can experience the adrenaline and fun too!

Best thing I've done in NYC....no walking...just absolutely fun! Will bring my girls back to enjoy. Instructor moves fast, good time at each spot.

One of the greatest experiences of my life. Imagine curving to pose right in front of the Statue of Liberty. To be honest they charge too little! My good friends Crystal told me about this spot so we gathered to go with a group of friends. Now I know it may be a bit imindating but they take their time prepping you and answering questions. You don't find patience with many other companies. I tried Jet Skiing in multiple locations around the world. Its usually they rush you to get to the water so they can get back and get the next crew going. Learn as you go. Not here! They take their time ensuring safety which is a big plus. They guide you on how to use it, what to do in every situation and the guide goes out and does a perfect balance of making sure your safe without over policing you. If you are in New York City this is a must must must try. Trust me.

I can surely guarantee this is one of the best experiences of my life. I've gone jet skiing before but riding with the view of NYC is truly awesome. I met Johanna at the kiosk and she made the check in process super easy. The dock boys were super attentive. Our tour guide, Scuba Dave went through all the important aspects of the jet ski & the Hudson River. Scuba Dave let me ride freely but always stayed close enough in case I needed anything. When I got back, Johanna offered me a discount for repeat customers and I was sold lol booked my next ride with her the very same day! 10/10

I went jetskiing on August 6th, which was a Monday, for my boyfriend's birthday. The group on our tour included the two of us, four other riders, and the tour guide. The other riders had the one hour tour. WE had the one and a half hour tour. The first instructor with the long hair was really cool, funny, and patient. He was welcoming and made us feel like we knew him from before. This instructor explained things in a way that took every last bit of nerve right out of me... this was my first time jetskiing! This same guy told our tour guide, who was going to be riding alongside us, to just give the other party of four the extra half hour and "rip it" straight up the westside, up, towards the George Washington Bridge (GWB). I specifically chose this tour and paid extra for THIS tour because it included the GWB; this was suppose to be meaningful to me since I grew up right by there. ***UNFORTUNATELY, the tour guide took it upon himself to change the whole route and go near the PepsiCo (a sign in Queens). He did not ask us if we were okay with this or even tell us... we only knew that we did not make it to the GWB because we know what the bridge looks like! After the tour, we brought it up to the manager (Bryan). When Bryan asked the tour guide why he did not do it, the tour guide gave his explanation and Bryan seemed okay with it... I think that if someone is running a business, he/she should ensure that people get what they pay for. Do not get me wrong... the jetskiing was an experience like no other. Jetskiing in New York City water was breath taking. The tour guide was cool, but if I spent a good amount of money for something, I am expecting those services. In addition to this, after requesting my pictures, I did not get all of them. I brought this to the attention of the person who was emailing me, and then he sent the rest. I felt like compared to other groups, the pictures that were taken of us were not cool and were very disproportionate to the others.

Whenever I hang out in Hoboken I'd see jet skis cruising by and always thought I'd give it a try one day. Now I just wish I'd done it sooner! To test things out I did the shortest tour, a 45 min ride to the Statue of Liberty and back. Tour guide remained nearby the entire time and was keen to guide us around boats and any other obstructions in the water. Such an exhilarating feeling cruising by the the shore at my own pace. And by that I mean slow, because the choppy water humbled me pretty quickly. My final note: be prepared to be completely SOAKED. Looking forward to trying the 90 minute tour next!

By far the funnest thing to do in the city during the summer. Super fun. Safe. Incredible experience. Thanks guys!

The Boathouse also organizes public trips - an exhilarating adventure & a fun way to meet new people. I took an outrigger (with the help of an experienced volunteer) to Red Hook. Did you know that Lake Hopatcong is NJ's largest freshwater lake?…read more And did you also know that there's a great little place on the lake that lets you rent all sorts of strange inventions like a 'pedalboard' and a 'hydrobike' (along with the classics like kayaks and paddleboards) - so you can cruise along the lake, get a bit of exercise, fill those lungs with fresh air and more importantly... work up an appetite (so you can hit The Windlass right after)? I tell you it's true. All true. There were six of us (celebrating a birthday) - 5 on hydrobikes, 1 on a pedalboard. The lake is drop dead gorgeous and we went when it was still early and a bit overcast so it wasn't too crowded with boats and jet-skis and the like. (Waves/wakes from other boats can really dampen your own fun... so that stuff matters a bit.) But I gotta be honest: it was a lot of work. Unlike a kayak where you might get a nice 'bite' with your oar and can coast a bit... the bike is akin to being pneumatic (you stop pedaling and you almost immediately come to a halt as well). And those seats? They are not comfortable at all. Sore dupas all around (the following day as well, actually). But we all had a great time. The crew (Patty and Joe, I believe) were really cool, total professionals, and we always felt like we were safe as well having a great time exploring some of the lake and adjoining islands and whatnot. (We would definitely return in the future but would lean towards a kayak and not do the bikes again.) Wear sunblock, bring water, not sure if it was just me but my right foot was pretty soaked by the end whereas my left was dry (so you'd be better off wearing an old ratty pair of sneakers, regardless). Post-pedal was The Windlass (excellent) as well as some mini-golf (also excellent). Lots to do in this lovely part of Jersey. (But it'll cost ya!)

I made a reservation online. Patty was so friendly and made it a great time! She let me use some sun block and fill up my reusable cup at their water fountain. She told me that I would probably like the standup paddle board better because it had better maneuverability. I took her advice. It was a lot of excise and fun as we rode around and she told me about the history and pointed out different areas around the lake. We even picked up some trash from inside the lake and it made me happy to know that there are good people out there who are also passionate about the environment. It was hot and I "accidentally" fell in and got to enjoy the water a little bit. Patty also gave me restaurant and hiking recommendations around the area and even took a picture of me. You may be able to call and make a same day appointment, but online will only allow the following day. I don't think it's with bringing or risking losing your camera or phone out on the lake, there isn't anything really photo worthy.

We were spoiled from start to finish with a group of really cool and helpful workers that were informative, fun, professional and made sure we were always safe and engaged the entire hour. (Make sure to watch their 6-minute YouTube video ahead of time so you know all about the proper paddling/rowing techniques when it comes time to hit the water.) The 'Urban Crew' were also invaluable because the owner was constantly taking pictures and videos and at the end airdropped them to us which was a nice 'cherry on top' since you can't really snap pictures for big chunks of the time when you're on the water. Is it expensive for an hour? No doubt. Did everyone absolutely love kayaking and getting to see everything from the Colgate clock to the back of the Statue of Liberty's head to the NYC skyline, not to mention all of the stunning yachts all docked and looking completely out of my price-range? Of course. Was it the funniest thing to see my mother-in-law somehow leaning back in her kayak like she was on a hammock while the father-in-law did all the hard work? Yup. (Did a cranky security guard try her best to be a stick in the mud regarding confusion over some parking-related issues when we were about to leave? Oh yeah.) I'd suggest clothing/footwear that you don't mind getting wet as well as sunglasses and sunblock (that sun is no joke bouncing off the water). Highly recommended. (The Mrs. is already plotting when to go back and I think she's even pricing kayaks to buy with that stimulus check that's burning a hole in her wallet.)

I visited on a weekday and perhaps that made all the difference in the world. My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.
