Stopped by Brooklyn on our way up the East river

I've been sitting at my window watching these jet skis go down the river all summer. We finally decided to find out what the deal was...and it was friggin' awesome! I was super concerned about being out on the water when the temps were in the 60s, but they've got it covered. You change in tents and leave all of your stuff locked up in the harbor. Opted for the dry suit to be safe, and was glad I did. The first giant wave that came flying over the top was a shock, and after that it was just plain funny. You get used to it and realize you're just going to be wet the entire time, but like magic everything is actually dry underneath the suit. Since it's the end of the season, it was just the two of us and a guide out on the water. We're locals, so we didn't need the full show and tell of the buildings and simply enjoyed flying down the river at 45 mph surrounded by ferries, sailboats, and container ships. You can go at your own pace, so I'd recommend this experience for everybody. A great adventure for locals and a unique was for tourists to see the city!!

Had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and the experience was amazing. I surprised my hubby with this gift and he had a great time. They explained what to expect especially with New York water being more choppy than Caribbean waters. I was nervous at first but our guide was so amazing and made sure I felt comfortable. After a few minutes on the jet ski I felt way more comfortable and was able to enjoy it. The view of the Statue of Liberty and dumbo was my favorite part. The guide took amazing pics I'm So thankful for that. I can't wait to go back thanks again for such a wonderful tome.

We had an amazing experience with Scuba Dave! When we got there, we checked in and changed and Scuba Dave went over all the guidelines and rules! We started the trip towards the city skyline and then the Statue of Liberty and bridges. When we got to the halfway point, we were able to switch drivers so I got to drive towards the bridges. If you decide to do 2 people on one jet ski, I definitely recommend switching at the halfway point so you can experience the adrenaline and fun too!

Best thing I've done in NYC....no walking...just absolutely fun! Will bring my girls back to enjoy. Instructor moves fast, good time at each spot.

One of the greatest experiences of my life. Imagine curving to pose right in front of the Statue of Liberty. To be honest they charge too little! My good friends Crystal told me about this spot so we gathered to go with a group of friends. Now I know it may be a bit imindating but they take their time prepping you and answering questions. You don't find patience with many other companies. I tried Jet Skiing in multiple locations around the world. Its usually they rush you to get to the water so they can get back and get the next crew going. Learn as you go. Not here! They take their time ensuring safety which is a big plus. They guide you on how to use it, what to do in every situation and the guide goes out and does a perfect balance of making sure your safe without over policing you. If you are in New York City this is a must must must try. Trust me.

I can surely guarantee this is one of the best experiences of my life. I've gone jet skiing before but riding with the view of NYC is truly awesome. I met Johanna at the kiosk and she made the check in process super easy. The dock boys were super attentive. Our tour guide, Scuba Dave went through all the important aspects of the jet ski & the Hudson River. Scuba Dave let me ride freely but always stayed close enough in case I needed anything. When I got back, Johanna offered me a discount for repeat customers and I was sold lol booked my next ride with her the very same day! 10/10

I went jetskiing on August 6th, which was a Monday, for my boyfriend's birthday. The group on our tour included the two of us, four other riders, and the tour guide. The other riders had the one hour tour. WE had the one and a half hour tour. The first instructor with the long hair was really cool, funny, and patient. He was welcoming and made us feel like we knew him from before. This instructor explained things in a way that took every last bit of nerve right out of me... this was my first time jetskiing! This same guy told our tour guide, who was going to be riding alongside us, to just give the other party of four the extra half hour and "rip it" straight up the westside, up, towards the George Washington Bridge (GWB). I specifically chose this tour and paid extra for THIS tour because it included the GWB; this was suppose to be meaningful to me since I grew up right by there. ***UNFORTUNATELY, the tour guide took it upon himself to change the whole route and go near the PepsiCo (a sign in Queens). He did not ask us if we were okay with this or even tell us... we only knew that we did not make it to the GWB because we know what the bridge looks like! After the tour, we brought it up to the manager (Bryan). When Bryan asked the tour guide why he did not do it, the tour guide gave his explanation and Bryan seemed okay with it... I think that if someone is running a business, he/she should ensure that people get what they pay for. Do not get me wrong... the jetskiing was an experience like no other. Jetskiing in New York City water was breath taking. The tour guide was cool, but if I spent a good amount of money for something, I am expecting those services. In addition to this, after requesting my pictures, I did not get all of them. I brought this to the attention of the person who was emailing me, and then he sent the rest. I felt like compared to other groups, the pictures that were taken of us were not cool and were very disproportionate to the others.

Whenever I hang out in Hoboken I'd see jet skis cruising by and always thought I'd give it a try one day. Now I just wish I'd done it sooner! To test things out I did the shortest tour, a 45 min ride to the Statue of Liberty and back. Tour guide remained nearby the entire time and was keen to guide us around boats and any other obstructions in the water. Such an exhilarating feeling cruising by the the shore at my own pace. And by that I mean slow, because the choppy water humbled me pretty quickly. My final note: be prepared to be completely SOAKED. Looking forward to trying the 90 minute tour next!

By far the funnest thing to do in the city during the summer. Super fun. Safe. Incredible experience. Thanks guys!

Normally I'm rushing to make my train or rushing to make my dinner reservation from the train to Chelsea or the Village, etc. I found myself with a couple hours free recently as I was in between classes at Peloton studios and it was early (for me) in the morning, around 9 am. It was pleasantly empty (not enough to feel unsafe or anything) and I thoroughly enjoyed my long walk throughout, admiring buildings, admiring graffiti on buildings, peeking into apartment buildings-- you get my drift-- it's so different from walking on regular sidewalks. But what makes it surreal is all the greenery that surrounds you, allowing for an almost sylvan experience in the middle of the urban jungle. Last time I walked it, there were no vendors and now there are, so you can grab a snack, coffee, smoothie etc along the way. Because I'm a lifelong New Yorker, I couldn't help but wonder if rats make their way up here but I tried to put it out of my mind. Guess I can search reviews for sightings!

The…read moreHigh Line was originally an elevated freight rail line built in the 1930s to lift dangerous street-level train traffic (which had caused numerous pedestrian deaths) 30 feet above 10th Avenue. Trains carried meat, dairy, and produce until the 1960s decline; the last train ran in 1980, after which the structure sat abandoned. In 1999, local area residents started Friends of the High Line non-profit, dedicated to turning the freight rail into an elevated park-greenway, inspired by the Promenade Plantée in Paris. The resulting park's design and planning was carried out by James Corner Field Operations and Diller Scofidio + Renfro, along with Dutch planting designer Piet Oudolf. It opened in phases starting 2009. Over 210 plant species grew naturally on the tracks after trains stopped, and the design highlights this wild landscape with modern pathways and seating nestled into the greenery. The park features architectural elements like the Viewing Spur -- an observation area with bleacher-like seating -- plus seating areas and a rotating display of artworks by artists from around the globe. The High Line South (Gansevoort/Washington St.) ends at The Whitney Museum of American Art which was designed by Renzo Piano, and completed in 2015. The North (West 34th St.) ends at Hudson Yards, a mixed-use development, which includes an arts center, office park, luxury housing, and a high-end luxury mall. The trail is highly walkable, with alternating shadow and full sun areas, rest stops, and opportunities to admire not only the wild foliage and the art but also some exceptional buildings along the way, like the stunning Zaha Hadid's 520 West 28th Street building, celebrated for its unique, flowing curves, and other interesting landmarks. The day I was taking pictures was incredibly hot in NYC (around 100F)!

I walked onto a park built on a series of tulip shaped concrete columns rising from the river, and the structure itself was striking enough that the architecture became part of the experience rather than just the platform for it. The design is compact and the island is smaller than most first time visitors expect, but the thoughtfulness of the landscaping made the space feel fuller than its footprint suggests. I followed walking paths that wound through planted gardens, with seating areas distributed throughout. Two elevated hills at either end of the island offered different vantage points looking back at the skyline and out over the river. The Hudson River views were wide and unobstructed, and the perspective on the surrounding city from the water level was one I do not get from the street. Sunset is the most popular time to visit and draws the largest crowds. I came on a weekday morning, which gave me a more relaxed version of the park with better access to seating and a quieter atmosphere. Food trucks were present, and the proximity to Chelsea Market makes the surrounding area practical for extending the visit into a meal nearby. Admission is free and the park is accessible via ramps throughout. The small amphitheater hosts performances during the warmer months, which adds another reason to check what is scheduled before going. For a stop that requires no planning and delivers consistently, Little Island is one of the easier recommendations in the city.

The cauliflower and leek chowder is the perfect beginning, light and full of flavor- which we ate along with a bread and herbed butter. The cioppino had the perfect portion of shrimp, mussels, and scallops with the squid ink linguini. They load it up with a flavor fueled tomato sauce. I'd never had this type of cheese cake before, but I will 10/10 have again, not too sweet and the perfect small portion- to finish off our meal. We were greeted by "Swan" who was running the floor with grace and precision; and bright smile and handshake through out. Our waitress Miss J, was sweet as pie and very attentive and extremely helpful with the menu (thank you for helping me get the names right!)
