Not bad for a wash and blowout. The shop is a little dirty and dated. There was only one stylist for all of the customers from 9 am to about 11 am when I was done. I was first, so I'm not sure about wait times. The non English speaking stylist was professional and worked the whole time. Nice arrangement of current magazines. Mid level quality styling products, but it all seems to work because I left with beautiful hair. I will return. Side note-after a wash, your hair is set under a dryer, blown out and flat ironed. That's 3 sources of heat, which is not good for African American hair types 3a-4c. I opted out of the flat iron and my hair still came out great. read more

I went to get a wash and roller set only 40 dollars . Then was asked for two dollars extra to wrap hair now my hair has never been this dry.

This was my first time coming to this salon and it was very last minute. They stay open till 7 which is perfect. I arrived at 5:50 pm and they took me right away on a Thursday. I received a wash with deep condition and blow out. Since my hair is long I was charged $62. They did quote me a different price prior to me paying but, I need my hair done so bad I didn't even care at the moment. My hair is so soft and flows. Today is Sunday and it still looks good. This is close to home so I will be coming back again. They are open 10-3 on Sundays also! I did have trouble finding it cause the address wasn't correct so I called. I bought a Groupon for a Keratin Treatment. I have natural hair and made an appointment as specified. I arrived on a Wednesday morning 30 minutes ahead of time. There was 1 stylist there in the process of doing someones hair. I waited. We didn't get started until close to 12. Still 1 stylist. As she started my hair, she stated I had to pay more since my hair was natural. That more was $40. I took a deep sigh and just continued with the service. At the end, my hair was bouncy, silky and awesome. She even gave me a free 'small' trim. I would go back maybe just for a regular bow out and not a Keratin treatment. I feel like the purpose of the groupon was defeated since I had to pay extra and natural hair was not specified in the groupon (length was). My friend told me to contact Groupon and I will do that. This establishment loses 2 star since there was 1 stylist the whole time I was there (3 hours) and I was charged $40 more on a Groupon since I have natural hair. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this establishment for $45 which stated it was good for "One haircut, conditioning treatment, style, blow-dry, and partial or full highlights". I saw that there would be an extra surcharge for hair longer than shoulder length (all the Groupon stated was "Additional fee for hair longer than shoulder-length."), but figured I'd get my hair cut to shoulder length as part of the package prior to getting the highlights applied - and if there still was a surcharge I would deal with that. When I made my appointment on the phone, I was advised again that since my hair was longer than shoulder length (it's about 3 inches past my shoulders, not unreasonably long), there would be a surcharge. I asked how much, I was told probably $20-30, which was acceptable thought not optimal. When I got to my appointment, I was advised that the extra surcharge would be $70. This is like 150% more than the original price of the Groupon. That means that the total amount I would pay for this experience would be $115, plus tip. I don't feel like $70 is a reasonable "additional fee" for an extra 3 or so inches of hair. I can get a cut and highlights for cheaper than that at many establishments without even needing a special deal. I feel that the deal was deceptive, and I left without using it and have requested a refund from Groupon. Be wary if you buy a Groupon for this establishment. read more

I went with a friend, never having had my hair done at a Dominican salon before. The service was good, however I was upcharged for my hair being natural ($37 originally to $52). I received a wash and blowout, with a trim. The heat from the blowdryer and flat iron was extremely high to the point where it burned my scalp and ear. After having washed my hair since my blowout, I am seeing that I have many heat-damaged strands that were not there before... towards the end, my stylist offered to wrap my hair FOR FREE and I accepted. When charging me I was charged $2 for hairpins with the wrap, and when i told her that she stated that it was free she told me that if I bring them back "next visit" I will get a refund... Surely there will NOT be a next time as my pockets and my precious curls have been damaged. Naturals beware! read more

Bait and Switch I call the shop this afternoon because I had just gotten my hair done last week and my hairdresser was not available and I needed a refresh. My hair did not need to be washed .. the front of my hair was in great condition, a section of the back just got really frizzy and dry. I specifically asked the woman how much that would be emphasizing I did not need hair to be washed and she said $20 and up. When I arrive the woman that saw me was not friendly at all she seemed agitated that she had to work on my hair. I did not sit in the chair for more than 30 minutes, she put no heat protectant on my hair from dryer and flat iron. She charged me $37 dollars and I think that's ridiculous. Only $19 less if I had sat down and gotten full service. I will not return. read more

I went there with my hair naturally curly ( i have been natural for 15 years) and had about 9 inches cut off my hair. They washed, dried and flat ironed my hair. I didn't wash my hair for about a week and when I did my hair did not curl anymore IT WAS FREAKIN STRAIGHT!!!! I think they put something in my hair without me knowing it!!!! I've been to other dominican salons and have been fine. Now my hair is completely messed up, my curls are gone and I'm pissed!!! read more

Do not get your hair done here!!! I took my daughter to get her braided and we had to wait 2 hours. To add insult to injury the quality of the braids was way below average and the prices are above market price! I asked for cornrows with extensions and the person was going to add braiding hair just to the tips of her hair. I stopped her and asked her to braid hair all the way through. Then she braids my daughters hair using no oils and with crooked parts. My daughters hair was frizzy through the braids and it looked a tacky mess! I told the braider that I didn't like it and she basically said " so... Your daughters hair was nappy" I told the owner and she just looked at me... Didn't apologize or anything. This place is Horrible!!!! I found the place from Groupon, bought the coupon made an appointment and on the day of the appointment i was told i did not have an appointment . Then when asked to see the Groupon i was informed that the cost of my Groupon would not cover the treatment specified on the voucher. That there would be an additional charge. I said i was asked the length and type of hair over the phone when i made the appointment and i was never told there would be additional charge. It was the Salons owner Marita who i spoke to on 2 ocassions before i even bought the voucher and made the appointment. One stylist even began getting irate and cursing and throwing things around the salon in front of my 11 and 15 year old daughters and the owners own son. Very Unprofessional people! read more
