My friend asked me to write a review on his behalf, as he does not know how to use a computer. My friend's 20 years old garage door opener didn't work properly for long time which trapped his car in the garage every once in a while, and cause him a big hassle specially in the winter time. Guy, the repair man quickly checked and found the problem, and told him what was wrong, gave him an estimate, and installed a new LiftMaster belt drive opener with 2 new remotes and also wireless keypad which he really liked. The new machine are covered for 4 years under manufacturer warranty, and they're super smooth and better quality than what the previous home owner put in. We moved into a new house a little while ago and kept procrastinating changing the garage door opener as it was working but clearly on it's last legs. Since it was operating it wasn't our highest priority...until the other morning when it conked out. We reached out to NY Garage and one other company. We did get pricing from both but Guy appreciated that guy was able to come the same day to give us an estimate and was able to provide install ASAP with the lowest cost. Just bought a house and my garage doors were on their last legs. I called NY Garage Doors at 11:30 am, and lucky me they had someone in the area who was able to come right over to give me an estimate. A week later I had my installation appointment. Adam ( not sure if I got the name right ) was no-nonsense in both his estimate and installation. Gives you the facts, does his work, cleans up behind himself. Considering a few glitches out of his control ( namely, a crooked garage ) the job was completed and my garage door is fully functional. As far as pricing, I think they are competitively priced. I had gotten an estimate at Home Depot for non-insulated doors, and instead got the insulated from these guys at about the same price Home Depot had quoted me. I would recommend them. read more

Called On New Years Day with an emergency that my garage door opener broke the motor wouldn't close..I called another company and they were not open! I recently used this company to install a new garage door at my Home. I previously had the old fashioned carriage doors and felt the time was right to convert to an automatic overhead. They came and installed a beautiful door which worked perfectly until I banged into it and promptly broke it. After our garage door failed to open, it seemed like the opener had finally broken down. Guy showed up later that same day, took a look, and gave us a free estimate for both the installation of a new opener/rail system, sensors, and general door maintenance. He offered us a fair price and promptly returned the next day to complete the work. I called Guy at 12:44pm (I checked my call log) and he arrived before 5pm on the same day. The trunk door of our car caught up in the garage door and knocked it out of alignment. Guy assessed it, noticed my springs were old (I knew he wasn't conning me since my home inspection a year prior noticed the exact same issue), and saw one of the wheels was out of the track. He installed a new wheel, new springs, and new pulleys and the garage door is now improved. Gaps at the bottom have disappeared. The price was reasonable. I feel kinda bad writing this updated review, Guy seemed to be knowledgeable, nice and professional, but it needs to be posted.. Needed to call Guy back. Turns out that the original one hour work to replace my springs ( he billed me $425), used springs that were unable to hold my wooden door without the motor engaged. After waiting many months he showed. Charged me $65, and offered to install a new motor and said the springs got streatched out because my wooded door got heavier.
