I will review both the good and bad about having Michelle as my partial day of coordinator. I met up with Michelle months before the wedding to talk to her about hiring her for a 4 hour shift during my wedding. She seemed nice and courteous. I needed her for 2 hours to set up some DIY items I had made for the ceremony and 2 hours for reception. I had made all the things for the wedding and she didn't have to provide anything. The good was that she was responsive to phone calls and texts. She came to our rehearsal but had to leave early for a concert which I didn't mind very much bc since she was a partial coordinator and also came early so I could show here where I wanted things to go. I did notice that her attitude towards my other vendors was not pleasant on the wedding day. I saw her be snappy to at least two of my other vendors who were really patient and nice but I was too busy as a bride to really think anything of it at the time. Later on I found out that she snapped directions at my bridesmaids and groomsmen to do tasks that I had paid her to do. They said at one point she was just sitting at a bench and not doing anything. She complained that she didn't know where things were suppose to go so my groomsmen took the blueprint that I had printed out for her and did the set up themselves. Several of my bridesmaids complained that she was rude and just didn't do her job. Michelle also complained that I didn't tell her what to do with our centerpieces even though I did multiple times. Overall, I would say my bridal party did at least 80% of the set up of our ceremony (they transported and set up the arch, the flowers in the aisle way) and finished setting up some reception tables like the dessert table. Michelle had to do the rest and set up some signs at the ceremony, put up some reserve seats signs for family, help us with procession, set up the dessert and check in table and centerpieces at the reception but she did not do it with grace and was rude to my friends and the other wedding vendors. We had a lot of mishaps as all wedding do, some vendors were really late but the only vendor complaint I got was that Michelle was rude. I was very overwhelmed that day but even I was not rude to my vendors and my guests and bridal party. For someone that is paid almost $90 a hour just to be at my wedding and set up some items, she didn't do a good job by any means. I wanted Michelle there to help take the load and burden off my bridal party but it sounds like she made it worse for them. I hope she will be able to be more courteous to her future bridal parties because as a bride, hearing that your 4-hour coordinator was rude and snappy to your friends and vendors is not pleasant. My friends had to jump in and help us despite dealing with her attitude. I can not recommend her and I'm sorry to say that if I could redo the wedding, I would go with a different coordinator or none at all.

CLASSIC / BOHO / COASTAL WEDDING VIBES - CHECK!…read more It was the absolute pleasure working with Alona for our wedding floral needs. After vetting 18 floral vendors (yes, 18!!!), Alona came in the strongest and was able to understand our vision the most. She was very easy to talk to on the phone as well as over email. Over the course of almost 14 months of wedding planning, there were times when I had to reach out to her and update our floral count. Alona did not give us a hard time about the updates at all or make it seem as if she was annoyed, unlike how other florists were while I was just vetting them! Our floral vibes were to be basically all white roses, baby's breath, with some boho touches to the arrangements. My initial bridal bouquet incorporated white roses and a few orchids. The biggest painpoint for us was having to lock in the best deal despite how many boutonnieres and corsages we needed for our larger (FIlipino traditional) wedding. Not only did Alona come in the closest to our floral budget, on the day of the wedding, she surprised me with absolutely beautiful touches of white peonies and carnations to my bouquet at no additional cost! Additionally, the bouquets for each of the tables as well as on our wedding cake were full and fresh looking. All of our guests complimented how beautiful the flowers were and wanted to take an arrangement home! I cannot recommend Alona enough for your wedding florals. Wedding planning is already super stressful. Make it less stressful by partnering with Alona and her team!

I wish I had a better review to write as Alona was great to work with in the beginning…read more Unfortunately, the area I was most disappointed on my wedding day was the florals. I was very specific about my floral vision and discussed in detail with Alona several times on what I wanted. Specifically for reception, the most important floral element for me was the sweetheart table. We discussed repurposing the ceremony florals to create a full, circular arch behind the sweetheart table with additional florals around the base of the table. She had assured me we would have enough florals from the ceremony to repurpose to not only the sweetheart table, but also the welcome table/bar/cake table as well. I even bought more florals for the ceremony arch to achieve this sweetheart table vision. However, this is not what we received. On the day of the wedding, Alona's team told us the start of our reception needed to be delayed by approximately 30 minutes because they were still working on the reception florals. We waited to seat our guests because we wanted to give them the time they needed to finish. Despite the delay, the sweetheart table installation was still extremely sparse and looked unfinished. The arch behind us was mostly bare and there were only two floral arrangements on the ground. I have attached the inspiration pic we discussed and the final result. I was mortified when I saw it - it looked so bare and incomplete. Additionally, this delay threw off the rest of our reception timeline. Dinner had to be shortened so we ended up having to skip "table touching", which was something we had really been looking forward to. I was very sad and disappointed when I walked into the reception because the sweetheart table was one of the elements we had discussed in detail as I cared a lot about it. The ceremony arch had a significant amount of florals, so I am still confused about what happened during the repurposing process. I am confused where the ceremony arch flowers went, since they don't appear to have been used to create the sweetheart table installation nor were there any flowers at the bar, cake table, or welcome table. I reached out to Alona after the wedding to understand what happened. It has now been almost three weeks without a response. I would have appreciated the courtesy of at least an explanation. Paying 5 figures for florals to have the sweetheart table look like this is incredibly disappointing. When I look back at my reception photos, I get upset with how bad and bare it looked. Don't even get me started on the ceiling florals that started to fall during the reception. I highly do not recommend Chic Flowers.

It felt more like a sales meeting. I think the venue could have been negotiated better and more attention to detail and care taken with our high school memories. The decor was a few balloons. Not even a banner reading "Class of...". There was a posterboard with some glitter and gluesticked pictures from our class. There was a small tv on a folding table that played a snippet from our graduation. The DJ played some 80's songs, but considering we graduated in 1991, it would have been better to have a playlist from our grad year, in my opinion. I heard "Oh Mickey" by Toni Basil at least 3 times. (1982! Almost a whole decade off!) The cash bar was fairly silly. There should have been 2 bars for that amount of people and I think an open bar for the 1st hour or wine on the tables would have been a good way to get folks to come earlier. The bartender was nice, but moved a bit slowly and had a hard time keeping up. The Catamaran is overpriced -- the room was totally plain, it was hotter than Hell, no matter how often we asked the RS reps to have them turn down the air. The food I skipped, but was shocked to discover our ticket price got us refried beans and tacos and a platter of cookies. Seriously. The "reunion booklet" we got was sad. I'm a designer, so I may be biased, but from the grumblings I heard, I'm not the only one. It looked like it was laid out in MS Word, folded and stapled in someone's living room and they didn't even bother to run a filter to omit empty fields like "Spouse" and "Children" if you're unmarried or have no kids. Way to rub it in, Reunion Specialists. This company needs some real competition. At $75-$100 a ticket, the money wasn't well-spent. I wouldn't hire them, Alumni -- find a fellow classmate who has experience organizing these kinds of events. You'd be better off rolling your own reunion.
