I watched the New York Knicks win their first NBA title in 1973 while living in Okinawa. I was playing basketball and wore number 10 for Walt Frazier. Clyde had it going on. He could do it all. In fact, the whole team was stellar. Walt was a guard with Earl, the pearl, Monroe as the other guard. Forwards Dave DeBusschere, Bill Bradley and center Willis Reed rose to the top. It has been a long drought. It was nice to see the Knicks finally win a championship after all these years. My dad has an autographed jersey from Clyde. I will have to get it mounted. Back in the day, Walt was an extremely good player. He was also known for his flashy outfits. Last week I saw him at the last game the Knicks won in San Antonio. He was dressed in a multicolored purple suit. He looked fantastic for a young man! 5/5

An amazing playoff run capped by one of the most exciting comebacks ever to finish it off in game 5. It was a record setting magical playoffs run, and after 53 long years the Knicks are back on top. After many horrible years, some exciting seasons, and heartbreaks this team carried the hearts and souls of New Yorkers everywhere on their backs to the promised land. New York is alive and the city feels a bit brighter today due to the Knicks players grit, determination, and will to win. I'm still in shock, almost disbelief, and my soul feels so happy now that I've finally seen my team win it all. Even if it's just this one time that's all many of us wanted. We are filled with joy and happiness. Thank you, Knicks. Now, we have a parade to attend which will be one of the greatest ever. Finally, once again, we are NBA Champions. Go Knicks Go!

Well, that's not completely correct. I actually knew it when my friend first mentioned it. How could Roller Derby not be an amazing night? Our tickets said the doors opened at 6:30 but no show until 8. We showed up about 7:20, mistake #1. Note to all potential roller derby attendees, GET THERE EARLY. It was already packed by the time we showed up, and we kind of had to squeeze in to get seats. If we had been more than two people, we probably would have had to split up. Now to the action, Gotham Girls Roller Derby is no f*cking joke. These girls are out to bust some asses. And, of course, my former borough of Queens showed the Bronx who is boss. Great win, great time, count me in again. And, yeah, I totally have a crush on Suzy Hotrod.

My experience was a blast. it was a very fun atmosphere, exciting competition (once i figured out the rules) and very casual. The crowd was casual, inclusive and actively involved. Like any other event they had souvenirs, concessions with beer and snacks. Oh yeah did i mention free beads! But they didn't ask me to show any body parts :-( , not sure who got the better of that one... lol definitely something that everyone should do.

Sure it's a lot about selling merch--cool, unique, not available everywhere merch at that though--and the prices are not cheap, but they also took great pains to incorporate artwork and interactive exhibits in the back, and I think have hosted events here with Mets and SNY personnel. Like the now impressive team and its wonderful stadium, this is another smaller but appreciated example of the care and thought and excellence--and love of all things Mets and the desire to celebrate that love--that have completely transformed this franchise under the auspices of the only billionaire we should allow to survive The Purge, our beloved Uncle Steve.

Beyond the Mets ware, (including with new uniform designs,) collectibles, plush and other stuff, you'll find other reasons to go and check it out! For out-of-town fans of other teams, you can have a lot of fun too! There's a "Mets Match Your Swing" motion capture cage that's great! A big screen Mets gaming wall! A mini Mets Museum with memorabilia! Mets House also offers ticket deals and victory celebrations! (Let's go, Mets!) Absolutely big on Mr. Met, and there's a lot of there with him! You'll also find items with Mrs. Met too! (Need to eventually replace my well-worn super favorite Mr. Met cap sported in my Yelp profile photo, so looking for options!) Check out their website for events, like the free mochi offered during my visit. They also have Apple live podcast recordings at Met House's "The Dugout" studio. Sundays are geared to families, including Mr. and Mrs. Mets visits when there isn't a home game! Cey Adams has created a large logo art installation wall perfect for your selfie to share! The only thing I didn't see, which should be in the Mets House line up, Grimace! Thank you, Mets, for making this in-town fan stop happen! Ya gotta believe!

On the plus side, Stubhub https://www.yelp.com/biz/stubhub-san-francisco-14?hrid=6DVK-vhmsmEbkPiSiGJHRQ was fabulous by offering a 100% cash refund or if you would let them hold on to the money, a 120% credit towards a future ticket purchase. I opted for the refund as I have no idea when I'll next be needing tickets. I'm sure other people are just as ticked as me, especially the concessionaires and the employees and the local businesses (hotels!) who are missing out on the income while baseball is experiencing this lockout.
