New York Tree Masters arrived early in the morning and completed cutting down 2 trees and trimming a 3rd one within 2.5 hours. Patrick and Eban were very professional, worked efficiently and were careful not to damage my fence where a lot of the branches were overhanging. They maneuvered their machinery with ease and caution. I appreciated that they constantly checked with me that they were performing the service to my satisfaction. They cut the downed trees into logs and stacked them neatly for my future use and removed and chipped the smaller branches. Alex came over to bid on two projects. -- There were two trees that I wanted trimmed on one project. He insisted that they must come down, it will cost the same to take them down as to trim them (of course, wink, and that's not the point). Neither of the other two that came to look said that they had to come down. -- On the other project, there were two trees with branches going over the next door property, one of them had branches rubbing the building facade next door. I wanted them removed for safety and property protection and liability reasons. He insisted that NY law states that the branches over the neighbor's property were the neighbor's property, and that they cannot be cut without the neighbor's permission. I told them that the neighboring landlord has never been responsive to attempts at communication, that I will send two emails, wait two weeks, and then we will cut the branches. That wasn't good enough for him, he said he didn't want to be liable and he left. My understanding of the law with regard to this is that it is the other way around: a neighbor has the right to cut branches from my tree over their property and that I cannot stop him from doing so, it is not that he can stop me from cutting branches from my tree over his property. After all, what if I wanted to cut the tree down altogether because it was sick or damaged? I couldn't because the neighbor wouldn't let me remove the branch over the his property? I checked with two other tree guys: they said that my understanding of the law is correct, and that Alex's understanding is wrong. I was actually certain that I was correct due to a similar problem I had at a previous home, but just wanted to check to be sure. Maybe Alex does understand but decided that he just didn't want the job and this was his way of backing out. But then he should just say so outright instead of this song and dance with a thick NY attitude. So, be forewarned. -- he did come out to look. That's more than you can say for a lot of tree guys. He gets 1.5 stars for that. read more

We need to remove another really tall spruce so I gave Alex a call. These guys are in high demand so it is important to plan ahead. Alex came in person and assessed the tree then gave me a written quote. Scheduled a removal date for October 2020 and the 2 man crew came one early morning and removed the tree quickly and safely. They raked and clean everything up in the end as well. It is a good thing we removed the tree since the tree center trunk was totally rotted. All in all, another outstanding job by the NY Treemasters. read more

I called Alex at Treemasters to see if he had any firewood. He was able to quickly deliver two generous chords of beautiful hardwood. Very professional delivery guy came and dropped them right where I asked. Alex has great communication skills and made very sure I was happy with the wood. Excellent experience. I had several trees to remove, including two very large ones. Someone had said they had a good experience with NY Tree Masters so I called and Alex came out the next day. He was very personable, he surveyed the job and made a few suggestions, all of them spot on. I have had tree work done in the past so I knew the price I was given was very reasonable. Alex and his crew showed up when they said they would and spent two days on site. Very professional and I have never seen a tree dropped the way Alex does it. Very scientific and precise and all tree drops went perfectly. The two large trees could have easily hit the house if they went awry, but I needn't have worried. When finished the yard was cleaned up and looks great. They are coming back next week to do some stump removals and I have no doubt I will have the same positive experience.
