I had the honor of doing a walk-in today for a nose piercing. I decided to call ahead to inquire for price, if you needed an appointment and what form of payment they took. For a basic nose piercing it was quoted $40. They do walk ins no appointments needed. The cashier/phone person was friendly the environment is... well it's a tattoo shop lol. Roger was my piercing tech..Due to my scared-ness (yes I was being a big chicken with my grown tail! ) I had to be reassured and he was very calm and did it fairly quickly and made sure to properly inform me of cleaning, gave instructions and social media info and offered if any other questions or assistance was needed just stop back in or reach out via Instagram! Cool.. this place seems to have a smooth flow of customers. Parking was right in front and forgot to add make sure you bring CASH. But if you don't they have an ATM on sight near cashier. They offer cleaning product H20 for $11, and I thought it was a well rounded experience. I love my nose piercing and I would return... if I ever need another piercing . read more

Wow. What a great experience! New Age is the only place I'll get tattoos now. For a while my daughter would ask me if she could get a tattoo. I always said, "when you turn 18." So Wednesday she turned 18 and a few months ago she said, "Dad, on my birthday I'm getting a tattoo. Will you be there?" I said, "I'll get one too!" So she thought for a long time about what she wanted to get: a portrait of her dog. Portrait tattoos are hard. You need the right artist because the wrong one will make you cry every day you see their abomination. I told her to do her research. She asked a bunch of people and everyone said, "New Age Tattoo!! Absolutely!" I called in and we made an appointment to come in the morning of her birthday. They couldn't do a portrait tattoo on such short notice though. I figured as much. She still wanted to see what else she could get. We got there and she showed the photo of her dog. The guys were upfront and honest. What she wanted wasn't going to look good later. Other places would have been like, "Yeah, your money is good here." Later, my daughter said she was glad they were so honest. They were professional. Working with Jessie we agreed to do a "version" of her dog because she really wanted it. We found a photo of her dog that Jessie said would work. I got super lucky that Jason was open for my small tattoo. We both got our tats at the same time. Wow! Jason was amazing. My tat took about 15-20 minutes and days later I still can't stop looking at it. It's perfect!! My daughter was more opinionated about hers. Jessie was matching the photo but it ended being closer to a true portrait tat than a "version" and she was very particular about how she wanted it to look. Jessie was so nice. He touched up the tat no fewer than three times. Absolute professional. She loves it. Her tattoo is amazing. We got super lucky to get essentially a portrait tat as a walk-in. Jessie nailed the essence of her dog too. The eyes and nose are absolutely perfect and embody the dog's personality in a 2d image. She told me later that she had the best day of her life and New Age was instrumental in making that day so special. The artists there are the best. I'll make the drive down from Chicago to get my next tats because these guys are the best. read more

I was 60 when I impulsively got my first tattoo - a snake that wraps around my wrist. My artist was a girl named Lauren and she did a good job of creating it from a drawing I took in. I now have 4 more, on my way to both sleeves, done by the master artist and owner Jason Lee. The dragon is original art - he drew it freehand on me - and fulfills my wish to alert medical personnel "DNR Let Me Go." Jason is not only artistically talented, but also intuitive and I've enjoyed our conversations about politics (though we're on opposite sides) and life philosophy (mostly in agreement). Any tattoo anywhere (except maybe prison) is going to cost you, but Jason's prices are fair, as I suspect all of New Age's costs are. In addition to several tattoo artists, they also do piercings and Andy at the front desk is efficent and pleasant. Jason is in demand so you'll probably have to wait a few weeks to see him, but the other artists are good and may be more open. Call for an appointment as COVID has put an end to walk-ins. And yes, you have to wear a mask! read more

I got my septum pierced here by Roger. After a full week the sharp pain hadn't gone away, and that's when I realized it was pierced wrong. The left side was completely in my cartilage, not in the "sweet spot" where it is supposed to be. I got tattooed by Benny while I was visiting some friends for the first time in Springfield. He was professional, and also very outgoing and easy to talk to. I gave him the artistic license to use whatever colors he wanted in my piece, and he chose them perfectly. Since I was a walk in, it could've been hard for him to figure out what to do and make up a stencil but he did everything very quickly and I am beyond happy with the end result. It's amazing and everything I wanted! As someone who's gotten tattooed in a bunch of shops, and even in NYC, Benny was on par with a lot of great artists that I know. The staff was all friendly and easy to get along with, and they knew exactly how to make what I wanted for my tattoo when I tried to explain it.
