Just realized I never reviewed this place and I've been going here a long time. I LOVE love LOVE this place. To be fair I've only had their tacos and I have to say that they're the best I've had anywhere. You can't find good tacos here in the East Coast much it's a hard find but I really like theirs here because they're always fresh, hot and plentiful. I love their salsas. Went here today on the way back to the plant from a meeting. I was hungry and have passed by this place numerous times. It is not much to look at from the street but I thought it might be one of those places that "knocks your socks off" with the food. Wrong!! My cheese steak was small (compared to the roll) and they used some kind of cheese sauce in a squeeze bottle. On a positive note, the lettuce and tomato were fresh as well as the onion rings. Fair warning - the ketchup and hot sauce are both in identical containers and you should have no difficulty in figuring out which one ended up on my sandwich. Unless you are really hungry and don't mind being crowded into a small space (5 or 6 seats at counters - tops) you can pass this place by the next time you are in town. read more

Its a cheesesteak, Thats it... Not much more to report. You could probably get this cheesesteak from the regular pizza place around the corner from your house. You'd expect more from a place that claims to have the best cheesesteak in NJ. The large steak however ($12) is pretty big and the bread was fresh and soft. I wouldnt call it meaty but enough to satisfy. The gf had the italian cheeseburger ($5) and she said it was just ok aswell. I usually order delivery from here when I want junk but something other than pizza or chinese junk. They used to mess up my orders alllll the time but the past 3 or 4 times they havent. Passing by it I've always been like ew they look gross then someone I know ordered food from there and I was like wow this is amazing & I found out after about 5 times ordering where exactly I was ordering from . I made an order to be delivered and ordered 4 steak sandwiches with extra mozzarella cheese and french fries. Instead they sent me four steak sandwiches with American cheese no extra cheese. And these potato chips as fries inside of the sandwiches. And on top of that they had like two potato chips and so much meat. Not a good enough portion between the two. I actually disagree with this last review. I have been to Newark Cheese steak house 4 times and enjoyed it every single time. The cheese steak comes in half or full. The half is actually pretty big. I get the works with everything on it. I would definitely recommend trying it out as it is one of the better cheese steaks I've had. They also have other food there too like empanadas. read more

I have had cheesesteaks all over the United States. I have had cheesesteaks at diners, pizzerias, and even at Pat's and Jim's in Philadelphia. Newark Cheesesteak House has perfected the art of making a cheesesteak. First lets start off with the bun. It is soft and fresh. Definitely picked up every morning from a delicious Italian Bakery. Then the meat. This is not a steakem. There is no question in my mind that this is one hundred percent pure beef. And it is seasoned to perfection. Now the peppers and onions are exactly how they should be. I cannot stand having a cheesesteak that is overload with pepper and onion juice as if they have been sitting in a can for WW IV. Then the cheese whiz. This is a staple item for a cheesesteak. Im sorry but any idiot that is complaining about cheesewhiz is too ignorant to know that. And they are also to ignorant to know that you can order American, Swiss or Provolone. I have had Pat's and Jim's cheesesteaks before. And honestly I dont know why they are so renowned. There cheesesteaks are always cold. That alone makes me hate the place. Just because they are in Philadelphia, the place where cheesesteaks are supposed to be known for, doesnt mean you should believe the hype. Newark Cheesesteak house is amazing. The sub just melts right into your mouth. And the pricing is fine!
