I really love this place. Super fast and friendly staff! Beats any urgent care center. If you can avoid the ER, this is the place for you.

I go here all the time and usually the doctors are so nice. well today i was unlucky enough to have dr SEYEDMEHDI JADALI- MD. He was the rudest medical professional i've ever dealt with. He asked me if i was vaccinated and i said no (because i've had colds left and right and was refused two times due to not being fully back to normal at the time of the appointment). His entire attitude changed and he was like ???? WHAT are you waaait forrrr????? Meanwhile i'm running a 100.00 F and in tears and he shows ZERO empathy. But i told him anyway since he was rude enough to act like that why i hadn't gotten the chance yet to be vaxxed. Then i told him that for a doctor he was the least empathetic person i've ever dealt with, he was so chipper and said... Thank you!!!!!!!!! So disappointed, this is the only place nearby that does rapid tests so unfortunately i might be back. read more

This is the best urgent care I've been to! I was in and out of the building less than 40 minutes! I was able to get a rapid test for illnesses and was diagnosed with strep and was given a prescription as well as a starter dose. The team here was so friendly and understanding. 10/10 service. read more

Have had good experiences in the past but went with inner ear infection recently, was given drops, and they aren't working. Went back and they won't give me antibiotics to treat it. Also said I have head and sinus infection and the PA didn't even look at my throat, basically just dismissed me. Got my rx through teledoc. Next time I will do that first and save the time and money. read more

can't praise the staff at this Urgent Care enough. The two nurses that checked me in were super friendly and thorough with their initial check-in. Afterwards, Dr. Amanda came in to greet me and she was very attentive to my severe nervousness about why I was there. It was obvious she did everything she could to reduce my anxiety. She didn't rush me through like many urgent cares typically do, In fact she listened to my attempt to nervously share my history. Fortunately, she allowed me to FaceTime my wife during the entire visit and she was able to articulate my medical history to Dr. Amanda clearly. I can't say enough about how great she was, and I'm so very thankful for having her as a Doctor on the hottest day of the year. If you're lucky enough to have her as your Doctor, I'm certain you'll be more than happy with her compassion and candor. read more

They saved my son's life. I am a physician and I took my son originally to a Christiana Care urgent care center as his exam was worrisome for bowel obstruction. Although I was given a 7:30 pm appointment and I had told them the problem no xray was available because the "tech left early". I called Newark Urgent Care and they took the information, put me through to a PA and were expecting us when we arrived. They examined him, did an Xray, and it was clear he had a complet bowel obstruction which is life threatening. They saved his xray and gave me the CD to take to the ER along with his labs. This helped us get seen faster when we went to Penn Medicine. It will took a while but in 5 hours he was in the Operating Room where his ENTIRE small bowel was found wound up around a stitch from an earlier surgery. They saved his life and I am forever grateful. read more

Wish I had something good to say.. I used to like coming here but they have incompetent and non-compassionate UD college students working there. Whoever was working the front desk Wednesday night was a moron. I had someone with me to help check me in because I was in so much pain and I told her I can't really talk cause it hurts to speak, and she raised her eyebrow at me and rolled her eyes with absolutely no sympathy or understanding. The medical assistant got annoyed with me because I had to get up and run to the bathroom after the fluids kicked in when I literally came in there for chronic diarrhea and stomach pain. There is no call bell or anything to get help in the room or bathroom. The doctor gave me no diagnosis. He just asked me questions and touched my stomach and said I shouldn't have stomach pain? After I told him my kids gave me the norovirus. I literally overheard the staff/assistants talking about a patient, saying to just say the other patient has covid too just hurry up and get him out of here read more

Left Christiana ER and went to Newark Emergency. Received really great treatment there. Everyone was so caring and treated us like human beings. The HUMAN element is missing from big hospital ER's. Had a great experience here while dealing with a stressful situation, a piece of wood lodged in my finger, and the staff couldn't have bee more pleasant! Came in on a Wednesday night at 9:30 and was seen in 10min. Nursing staff was warm, and the PA Sean was friendly and reassuring. A surgeon on staff who removed the wood was a little cold but I was more than happy that he was able to remove the wood. Was in and out in an hour! Highly recommend this urgent care. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I wound up there on a Saturday night after falling onto the broken glass that flew out of my hand when I tripped. I was in the waiting room for maybe five minutes before being taken in for the normal height/weight/blood pressure check and quick questions. Then I was moved into a patient room where I waited for about twenty minutes. (Hey, it's a college town. Things get crazy on a Saturday night!) The doctor came in, took my bandage off, and immediately said, "Oh! We're going to need stitches." She came back in a few and chatted with me the entire time, keeping my mind off of what she was doing. She sent me on my way with instructions and I came back the following week to have the stitches removed. Total cost: $150 for stitching, numbing shots, and a tetanus shot. I went to Newark Urgent Care and was seen by JACK HOROWITZ, M.D. This man was so rude, uncaring, and unempathetic. He stated: "I don't know what you want me to tell you. It's a stubbed toe". Guys my big toe was dark red, swollen, throbbing, and my toe nail was black from the blood! My pain was an 8/10 and he offered me no pain medicine, no advice to ice it or elevate it at home. Nothing. Just negative results and a boot out the door. I've never had such a rude doctor. read more

Horrible- was told no wait!!! Filled out paperwork and was immediately taken back to a room. Then WAITED over 30 minutes to be seen. Only to be seen by a physician assistant not a physician. Who misdiagnosed me. Left there and went to med express! Save time ( that you can't get back ) and go to med express or somewhere similar. Never again will I go or recommend Newark Urgent Care. There are some of us who try a variety of thing before we go there, and to have his attitude of someone going in late has to change. I don't like doctors and try to stay clear, but when I am in pain that is a different story to get relief from it. To treat me as a child for going in late, and with no understanding on why, or ask me why so late, he needs help in understanding older people. read more

This urgent care is very well run. I am a student and have been here a few times this past year (mainly covid related since they have rapid tests). It's unpredictable as far as wait time but they generally get you to see a doctor within the hour. During my last visit, I was taken care of by Dr. Blacklock and he was incredibly reassuring and professional. If you go there, ask for him! read more

I came to Newark Urgent Care in the afternoon on a weekday to seek assistance with a non-emergency medical issue. I was checked in quickly, a nurse immediately called me up, and after providing my history and giving diagnostics it was less than a five minute wait for the doctor to arrive. I took my daughter here this past Monday. She was terribly sick with tonsilitis and was misdiagnosed at Christiana Care /Go Health Urgent care. She was seen by 2 PAs Amanda and Jessica as well as an MD. The care she received was excellent and they couldn't have been nicer or more thorough. They were able to give her meds on the spot as well as a prescription and I'm happy to report that she is tremendously improved after just 2 days. Stay far, far away. Got misdiagnosed, came back in for a 're-evaluation' (which the Administrator told me to do over the phone) and....got yelled at by some dude? The 'medical director' is an unreal asshole - actively chooses to fight with people rather than treat them like human beings. Maybe the dude just had a bad night, but it seemed to me that he was trying to pick a fight with me rather than be useful in any way at all. Real childish stuff. Seems that the culture around this company allows for that kind of conduct. No redeeming qualities. Take your business elsewhere. read more

The overweight pos doctor jack Horowitz. Felt the need to disrespect me and my wife for not being vaccinated after they gave me a false negative test on 12/23/21. I got retested by a walk in contractor who has more experience said it's just sinuses , and my result was negative!!! They barely put the swabs up my nose as well. read more

All staff were very professional and kind. Not a long wait in the waiting room or for the doctor. I was there in the middle of the night so I was able to get my first dose of medicine there and was sent with a script to be filled on the following day. I've taken my young daughter here twice since she apparently will only get sick on weekends when the pediatrician's office is closed. Both times everyone on staff was friendly and we were seen quickly. They talked directly to her and explained things in a way that she could understand what is wrong and what to do. read more

The doctor seen used profanity and racial comments in front of my son!! Walked in the room, asked why we was being seen, explained it was for a school physical. the doctor then said "THIS IS BULLSHIT" Then stormed out the room, and came back in, insulted my parenting because I was getting a physical at 10pm at night, and commented I had all summer to get it done!!! Sports/School physicals on advertised I am not sure what the issue was. The doctor has no reason to make the comments made, or to use profanity in front of a minor, along with her condescending racial remarks!!!! We are from out of state and were ready to head back home when it dawned on me that I couldn't drop my sick daughter off at college and then wave bye-bye. Nobody was thrilled at the prospect of a potential 2 hour wait (I read the reviews), but she needed antibiotics. The reception desk was courteous, the facility was CLEAN, the doctors were knowledgeable and the wait was not significant. This was a wonderful experience. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I received some of the worst medical "care" of my life at the Newark Urgent Care Center a few weeks ago. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a nurse who reeked of cigarette smoke and literally had cigarette ashes down the front of his shirt. It was disgusting, and it triggered an asthma attack. I came in for sudden severe arm pain that woke me up in the middle of the night, and was told to go home and take Tylenol until I could see my doctor in the morning. What is the point of a 24-7 Urgent Care that boasts their ability to do x-rays, do minor surgery, and be seen by a doctor 24/7 if they are just going to tell me to go see my primary care doc in the morning? The staff there does not realize that when they are at the nurse's station, the PATIENTS CAN HEAR THEM! While I was waiting to see the doctor, I overheard the nurses talking about the reason I had come in in a negative, offensive manner. I heard two female staff members discussing me, even though I was only seen by men. (I am sure it was me because I was the only patient there.) They also discussed my medication list (I have complex asthma and other medical issues and I have to take a lot of different meds). I heard them say "This is ridiculous, there is no reason for somebody to be on this many chemicals" and "It's the family doctor's fault. People come in and demand medications, and they just give it to them. Nobody wants to make a lifestyle change." I found this to be pretty offensive, as I don't think I should be expected to walk through every single step of my entire complicated medical history to an urgent care doctor I only plan to see once. (For what it's worth, I am not on any controlled substances and I was not drug-seeking.) I find it more than a little hypocritical that a man who reeked of cigarette smoke and had ashes on his clothing was talking about how many chemicals I put into MY body in order to be able to breathe. I will not ever be returning to this Urgent Care. I plan to send a letter to the owner letting them know that their staff is judgmental, rude, and has no business working with sick people. They are absolutely useless and will refuse to help you with any issue you come to them with. Oh, and one more thing: When I checked in, the receptionist took my insurance information, and, AFTER running it through his computer, told me that they were in-network for my insurance company. That was a lie, and I now have a huge bill for absolutely nothing. If you are thinking about seeing a doctor here, I strongly suggest you either go to the ER or wait until you can get in with your primary care provider because that is what they will tell you to do anyway. read more

STAY AWAY !!! My daughter attends UD and was seen by Dr. Jack Horowitz . The visit was for fever with a worsening painful sore throat despite 48 hrs of antibiotics. Our family Physician from home got on the phone (speaker phone) to discuss the case with a supposed colleague - and was met with Dr Horowitz rolling his eyes , making faces and could NOT HAVE BEEN MORE DISINTERESTED in discussing treatment that would be in my daughter's best interest . HE WAS A COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT to the profession and all who strive to be COMPASSIONATE providers. Dr Horowitz practices in a College town with kids that rely on competent and compassionate providers that LISTEN . We found him to be neither compassionate nor competent . We sent her elsewhere . Wast of time when it comes to children and babies from my own experience 2 month a goy autistic disabled 2half year old son was badly bitten on his face by a fully grown husky dog. And Sharon the nurse told me that a fractured leg was worse than a dog bit witch my son was left wait 4 hours before he was seen his face was gushing with blood 4 big bite marks 4 hours after being there it still hadn't been cleaned to the be told by Sharon the nurse that they don't do stitches or anything like that at newark hospital.. knowing that my son needed stiches fro. The start it needed clean etc. I them had to put him back in the car an take him up to QMC where I was told they should have sent us straight up to QMC not 4 hours later plus the drive up there witch then there was no space for my son to have stiches till the next day still hadn't been cleaned as he is autistic and doesn't like people near him he went 25 hours before it got cleaned and then put to sleep to have it stiched. And I was in there to day as my 10 month old banged his head getting a big lump so I took him in 5 half hours later we was still waiting to be seen people who came in after me was being seen before us the short bobbed brown hairs receptionist who works there most days said sorry but you have to wait ... we had 5 half hours she said that others was more important.. I said well I don't want to keep my son in here when a mother and her son had come in to the hospital and the boy had covid symptoms.... coughing really bad over heating etc. An the mother said to someone he's got covid symptoms... the receptionist went over an wisperd did you say your son has covid symptoms the mother said yes I told then on the phone ... she went off and didn't do anything my son was in that hospital 11 months old . And another little baby and children . Who haven't had the jab or wear a face mask !! So newark hospital staff need a head wabble.. child abuse an I'm gunna make sure all your faces and names are none for what you have but my boys through everything we have come to your hospital. If I or my sons catch covid from this selfish beep beep** I'm telling you now I'll make sure they get it as they didn't inform anyone about the little boy my son was left still not seen after bashing his head and my autistic disabled son was left 24 hours due to them believing a fractured leg on a woman was worse than a fully grown husky bit to a 2 half your old face and neck. Some of the worst care I've ever gotten. Granted, I should've gone straight to the hospital but even so, the doctor was asking me questions, condescendingly, as if I was lying to her. She deeply examined my red nose-not even considering that I told her I just have dry skin. She thought that the redness of my face might be a sign of a stroke. She was so uncomfortable and weird and the whole time, I just wanted to get out of there. I ended up going to the hospital-Christiana- and surprisingly, got some pretty solid care. The next couple of days, the urgent care center called me about four different times to see how I was doing... my assumption is that they realized how terrible of a job they did with me and thus, calling to reassure them that I was okay-despite their terrbile care. Doctor wildly misdiagnosed my boyfriend. He came in with an infection on his wrist and they said he had scabies!!! Caused total panic in our house and we threw out most of the bedding and each spent over $40 on a one time ointment. The next day my boyfriend went to a certified dermatologist in Delaware and the doctor there said it was absolutely NOT scabies and it was an absurd diagnosis. It was folliculitis which is basically ingrown hairs. Although I am ecstatic it was not scabies I am still angry that it was such a poor diagnosis that caused us panic, anxiety, and to waste money. Came in with a partially detached toenail. I had been stepped on while dancing. They took my vitals fine, but the experience with the doctor was abhorant. I had tightly wrapped my toe in bandaids and moleskin to slow the bleeding. The doctor had me remove my own bandages (instead of cutting them off) and then handled my bleeding foot without gloves. He then applied bandaids back to the toe without any antibiotic ointment, without cleaning it, without doing anything. I quickly started to bleed through the bandaid. I had to ask if he could put more on. He put 2 additional bandaids on the toe on top of the blood (so yeah, they didn't stick at all) and handed me 3 more bandaids. He started to leave and I asked if I should be worried about infection. He said no, I shouldn't have to worry about infection since I was wearing shoes. I was flabbergasted and told him that I was wearing open toe shoes, that another dancer's high heel made direct contact with the toe. He still didn't clean the toe. He gave me 2 antibiotics on the spot and a prescription to pick up the next day. When I left the urgent care I went to a 7-11 and picked up neosporin and higher-quality fabric bandaids and cleaned and re-wrapped my toe. I had bled all over my shoe in between the Urgent Care and the 7-11. read more

Yes they're fast and their office is clean. But customer service is absolutely terrible. They're only 5 minutes from my house so in theory it's convenient, but it's not worth it. I would rather wait in an ER. read more

Receptionist was rude and nasty. I came in and asked for a wheelchair to go get my friend, took me 15 minutes to get him across the street and was yelled at. Receptionist told me it was illegal to take a wheelchair when clearly I asked. Go elsewhere where you don't get yelled at. read more

It is of great concern that the xray technician chose not to use a lower body protective shield/apron on a young male patient during a chest xray. UD Student Health Center is lousy too,but at least their technicians use shields. I would have to agree with Justin M. STAY AWAY! This is not the first time we have had a bad experience here. Do not know what possessed us to return. This place should be reviewed by the JCOH at the very least. Maybe, that is who I will contact next... read more
