I've now had multiple negative experiences with Newburgh Dental Group and it's becoming a pattern. On more than one occasion a family member of mine was turned away for being just 3 to 5 minutes late. Each time the response was "let me see if the doctor will still see you," which clearly shows there is no consistency or real consideration for patients' time. What's frustrating is the double standard. Patients are expected to be perfectly on time, yet there seems to be no accountability when the office runs behind or inconveniences others. Life happens, whether it is traffic, work, or unexpected delays, and most professional offices understand that within reason. It is disappointing because this reflects a lack of respect for patients, not just a strict policy. Based on our experiences it is not surprising to see other negative reviews mentioning similar issues. I hope management takes a step back and reevaluates how they treat their patients, because good healthcare is not just about the clinical work, it is also about how people are treated. read more

Tired of the major dental offices in the area, I found Newburgh Dental Group while just driving around and decided to give them a try. Unlike most people I haven't had any issues or complaints yet and I have been coming to them for a year, I even got my family to come to them as I was so pleased with my first visit. Although, for my last visit they were running late and I had to wait for over 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, but they apologized about the lateness. Their offices are on the small side but modern. Everyone I have been in contact with was nice, friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the hygienist to the check out lady although this last one seems a little cranky. read more

I was going to bring my kids in as a first time patients. Due to work I was 10 min late, for my appointment. The front desk supposedly the manager, was unethical she started screaming staying she shouldn't repeat herself 4 times to an adult when she wasn't giving me any other options. I said what can I do times for my reschedule and she started to scream. As a manager she is not professional, she has no experienced with customer service. I just wanna to know my Options to reschedule day or time she wasn't helpful at all. Hope this message helps others to know that the manager is lacking on professionalism. It was state of the art, but the follow up (filling) was another story. They had me scheduled for a exam and x-ray which I already had done 2 weeks ago. I asked to be scheduled with this particular dentist (which I regret) and the office had schedule some one else at the same time. I was already in the chair so he got me done first, but they talked about the front office complicated schedule that morning. The filling was done in half hour (novocaine was over done, I was numb for 6 hours, in the past I'll be numb for 3) Overall, I will return but the drama that morning was not professional and a obvious lack communication. read more

Because of the shoddy work of Alex Pilavsky that he rendered three weeks ago, I am unable to open my mouth wide enough to eat. The soft food that I am relegated to eat must be in tiny pieces. Three weeks later I'm in the same pain I was in on day one. There are better dentists out there. In fact EVERY dentist is better. Don't subject yourself to their lousy work, and certainly don't let him near your family members. The biggest mistake I've ever made was to use this practice simply to be "in network". read more

Another great appointment today. I came in 5 minutes early and they took me in almost immediately. Doctor Alex was great. He made me comfortable and numbed my tooth so that I would not be in pain. My son was a patient here for several years. I always found them to be cold and clinical but he never had any dental issues. Today on Friday afternoon he retuned from vacation with an extremely bad infection in his tooth so I called immediately and they said they could see him in a half an hour. We live that far away to begin with and the thunder storms were bad so they told him that he was 1 minute passed the time and they could not see him. His face is completely swollen, bleeding and has puss pouring out! One minute? Very cold and uncaring! Needless to say our family will not be returning there! read more

I rarely leave reviews, especially poor ones, but this is necessary. I have a baby tooth that does not have an adult tooth following. They recognized decay although I didn't have discomfort while I was pregnant but suggested to have it fixed postpartum to avoid radiation. and although I told them the tooth did not bother me, they suggested I get a fill in the cavity. I did so several months later, only for it to be a disaster. First fill: fell out in less than 24 hrs of my visit. It then took me almost 2 weeks to get another appointment(meaning I am eating, drinking, etc. for two weeks with an Exposed cavity) Second fill: two weeks later, I felt pieces coming loose and a hole in the fill. Took another 2 weeks to get an appointment. Third fill: couple weeks later, a hole in the fill again and now excruciating pain and discomfort. I call to have it fix and am told that the dentist said they can no longer fill it because baby teeth aren't really supposed to be filled to begin with(something, might I add, I was never advised of the first filling, or else I would've never had them mess with a tooth that I wasnt have issues with) and the tooth would have to be extracted and replaced, to see if my insurance will cover it but doubtedly because it is considered cosmetic. I asked them if they can fix the work they did and was told to go to a different doctor and tried saying it was bound to happen because the tooth already had decay. Be that if it may, it wouldn't have decayed in 4 months to the point where I needed an extraction and implant. All from a tooth that never bothered me to begin with!! Despite a few great and friendly staff members, even the sweet dentist who was negligent himself, but business is business and I am very displeased with the work that was done. End result? I am a post-grad, only 25 years old, seeking a career and going to have to either get an extraction and replacement, out of MY POCKET, or walk around with a missing tooth in the FRONT of my mouth. The receptionists mostly are rude , not all of them . The Spanish girl was very kind and considerate with my friend, and started to answer my friends questions. But the other one with red hair pulled back, cut in while she was trying to answer my friend. She ( the red head ) was short with him with answers about his appointment that day and his insurance questions . Like don't worry about it whatever the insurance don't cover we will send you a bill for the difference. She ( the red head ) was extremely rude. Like she did not care if my friend was taken care of or not . She had an attitude like show me the money!! What is she the owners wife? If not they must be having an affair for how she dresses and acts in the office , and must over see what the others are doing while she plays on her phone . Very not professional at all. If he is married I feel sorry for his wife and family. This is not a way for office staff to behave . Maybe his wife should step in, and really see how the red head behaves. Or tries to cover things up. Or she just has blinders on. And is fooled by smoke and mirrors, Other than that the office is a "10" . The staff in the back were very professional and courteous. From the x-ray people to hygienist to the doctors he saw. The office was clean and bright. My friend was very happy with the work he had done. And will continue to go till the treatment for his teeth are done . Hopefully he does not have to deal with that one again . Hope they clean house with that one though !! read more

The place looks nice inside but the Mexican girls in the front are rude and sneaky. Well, I guess you get what you pay for cheap help. And unknown to me, They didn't tell the dentist what i was there for. They called me to the room and I sat down in the chair as he was yelling at another dentist on the phone because he couldn't get the weekend off. So, he came back to the room made and asked me what I was there for, when I told him he yelled "NOBODY TOLD ME YOU WAS HERE FOR THAT, I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS YOU HAVE TO RESCHEDULE". I told him I told them exactly what I was here for over the phone. He said well they didn't me and you will push back my schedule. So you have to reschedule for another day. My 6 year old daughter had tooth pain in one of her back baby teeth, they said I could bring her for a couseltation and they would let me know if they could work on her teeth or if she has to be referred to a pediatric dentist. I had to get dropped off with my ten month old baby in his stroller and 6 year old I was early for my appointment. We didn't get out of there for a hour and all she got was X-rays. They made another appointment to fill her cavities a month from the day. We waited a whole month and I got there 10 minutes late due to rush hour traffic and the dentist told me she had to go to a pediatric dentist ( because I came late) i asked why he wouldn't of told me this a month ago and let her suffer this whole time and he couldn't answer my question. There wasn't one person in the waiting room and obviously the dentist wasn't busy because he was sitting there making rude comments to me the whole time his assistant was giving me the referral information. Like my daughter must eat too much candy and the pediatric dentist has laughing gas so I would probably want to switch over too so I can get laughing gas. They called me two days proir trying to bump my appointment up earlier in the day which I couldn't do due to the fact my daughter goes to school . Dr. Alex is totally unprofessional and not concerned about his patients wellbeing or if a little kid is in pain, he is spiteful and rude and only concerned about getting out of work early. read more

I was not the patient but my husband had an unexpected dental emergency last month and they were incredibly accommodating, especially to someone who was not even their patient at the time. Since his new insurance had just started on January 1, he not yet signed up with a primary dentist and I called Newburgh Dental the minute they opened, explained the severity of the situation and they had him come in immediately, there was no hesitation whatsoever. My husband will be the first to tell you what a huge baby he is regarding anything dental related due to past negligent, painful experiences and he was beyond impressed with how this practice handled the entire situation and addressed his mental state/fears, physical pain, emotional distress, actual tooth/dental problem, etc. Upon his arrival, they immediately brought him to an exam room, assessed the problem in a timely manner and advised him of what needed to be done. He was terrified; the dentist professionally addressed his fears/concerns, proceeded with the necessary treatments all the while making my husband feel safe and comfortable. If my husband had not felt the compassion shown him, he wouldn't have been able to relax and trust the doctor or remained calm enough for the staff to do their work. The problem was fixed (cracked, infected tooth with a broken piece sitting on an exposed nerve, swollen face, jaw, etc.) quickly and with minimal pain and stress as the staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my husband's panicked mental state at that point. He was offered a script for post op pain medication which he declined due to personal choice relating to other medical issues but his pain was managed effectively with OTC pain relievers at home, he was given a follow up appointment to re-check the extraction and he was able to return to work the next day. This could have turned out so much differently had this dental practice not reacted as quickly as they did or had not been as to willing to communicate with him in a way he could understand and respect his apprehensions/fears/concerns/pain control options, etc. with the concern and care that they did. read more

This was my first experience with this office and they were very informative and provided an excellent cleaning and check up!
