My family and I have been coming to this dentist for years. My hygienist Zach is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately that's where the amazing ends. They have a high turn over of front desk staff. Each new person is worse than the last. Enter the current one...Lisa. I'm not going to go in on how I feel about this big unprofessional woman but I will say she is a white woman who thinks it is ok to threaten to call the cops on me....not once but three times because she doesn't like that I'm challenging why I am being told that I owe money for my girls from six months ago. Or is it because I am a black woman who she thinks will be intimidated or scared. Then enter the "office manager" Angela, who allowed the behavior and allowed Lisa to keep coming back running her mouth. And then oh...Angela says she feels she needs to call the cops because what else can she do? Oh I know. How about let you OFFICE MANAGER handle it. What kind of authority figure are you. I asked Angela what did I do to deserve the cops called on me and she couldn't say. Why? Because I did nothing that's why. I was terrified about going to the dentist because I had bad experiences as a kid with scolding/ nasty providers. This, along with some dire life circumstances, led to me not going to see a dentist for many years. Finally I called Newburgh Dental Associates to book a New Patient package when I realized how awful my teeth looked and how it was impacting my confidence. The receptionist who did my intake was supportive and kind, answering all my questions and reassuring me that I didn't have anything to be afraid about, and that the team would be sensitive to my needs. I was able to make an appointment for the very next morning. As soon as I showed up, the hygienist, Yesenia, was waiting for me with a smile. She did my X-rays, measured my gums, explained to me what she saw and assuaged my concerns that my teeth needed to be replaced. LOL! Turns out I just needed a good dental cleaning to get into those areas that I couldn't reach on my own. Yesenia then did that cleaning for me and she did such a phenomenal job that upon seeing my teeth in the mirror afterwards, my eyes welled up with tears. I felt like I had been reborn, and that I could really smile again without feeling ashamed of how my teeth looked. Dr. Dov Hochbaum came in to examine my teeth. His tone and approach was soothing, gentle, and reassuring-- much like Yesenia, who was there with me the whole time. He recommended that I get a small cavitation filled, and so I came back later that same afternoon to get it done. It took about 5 minutes and was completely painless. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. For the first time in my life, I'm actually looking forward to my next visit in April. And after seeing how effective-- and peaceful!-- a dental cleaning can be, I'm a regular for life. This is a wonderful practice for anyone, but I would especially recommend it to anyone out there who has fears about the dentist or has had negative experiences in the past. The wonderful team at this practice--from the receptionist to the hygienists to the doctors/ surgeons-- will put you at ease and, most importantly, make your teeth look brand new for a reasonable price. I'm very disappointed with this dental office. I allowed Dr. K, aka Dr. Jon, or Dr. Hochbaum to make a small repair to tooth #30. I wasn't having any issues with the tooth, but I was trying to be proactive. I have had nothing but problems since allowing the work. I regret it so much. I saw Dr. K a few times hoping he would resolve my discomfort, but he did not. I called the office and requested another dentist in the practice. Dr. K wouldn't allow that to happen. I had to return to Dr. K, even though he was obviously agitated to have to take off the crown he had just put on. Dr. K had the audacity to keep asking me about a slightly discolored tooth in the front of my mouth that had no issues, but he wanted to work on it...yeah right! He hadn't even fixed tooth # 30 properly. That was the last time I sat in Dr. K's chair, and that appointment was not pleasant. A few days later I was still in pain, so I went for a second opinion at a different practice. I had a few dentists look at my tooth. They all wanted to know who did the work, eventually I was told the tooth angle was the reason my porcelain cap wouldn't stay put. Also, I was told there were charges to my insurance that was not on my xrays. Dr. K's office manager said that the core they put in my tooth wouldn't show up on an x-ray. I have contacted my insurance company and filed a grievance, and they can figure out. Because of all the times the cap popped off, there are a lot of xrays of my tooth over a period of six months. I hope the insurance company can figure out what happened. I recently had to pay over $1600, out of pocket, to replace the same exact cap Dr. K put on in Oct 2021. A cap that bothered me from the very first day it was put on. That is a problem for me. read more

I have been to this office 5 times. I found the dentist and dental assistants to be very good. I was seeing Dr. Odinsky. The front office staff I would give a 1 star. They seem to have issues with billing of which I am not sure if it was an accident or intentional, so watch your bills very carefully if using this office. read more

I went to Newburgh Dental Associates because a filling in one of my teeth had broke. I was told that several teeth (which were not bothering me at all) needed repair. Long story short, A month later and almost $2,000 gone (and thank you to my insurance) I had 3 crowns and one root canal performed. I am in pain and cannot eat properly on one side of my mouth. And this morning, to top it all, the repair they did on my front tooth (which was chipped) broke. I don't think they really know what they do and I would avoid this dentist if possible. read more

I had a great experience at this dental office. First of all, Crystal was so helpful on the phone scheduling my appointment and explaining the office procedures. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by Vida who was extremely friendly and welcoming. Then, I had the best cleaning of my life with Zach. He is amazing! It is rare to find someone so thorough, but gentle at the same time. Going to the dentist can sometimes be an anxious experience, but Zach approaches patients with kindness and clear information about the appointment components. It's always hard switching Dental offices for your child, but this office made the process easy and everyone was welcoming. From the first interaction in setting up the appointment, to when we arrived, it was friendly and professional. The waiting room and office was very clean and we had very little wait before being taken back to a room for services. The x-rays and digital images taken were done well, and the time was taken to discuss all of it, both by the hygienist and the Doctor. At no time did we feel rushed or marginalized by the staff or Doctor Dov, who - by the way - was super nice. The insurance coverage was clearly explained to me, and the 6 month visit was easily scheduled chair-side. Overall, I could not have imagined a better first visit, and I look forward to scheduling myself as well, in the near future. 100% worth the switch. read more

This office is the absolute worst! I have been doing my smile direct process with this office and i must say i have 6 weeks left and i can not wait to be one and done. Millie who works the front is extremely rude. She always has an attitude, she doesn't let patients speak because shes too busy trying to cut them off. She tries and talk to patients as if she is their parent by telling them to have a seat when she doesn't want to deal with them anymore. I was there last week and it was a horrible experience. Millie had an attitude off the top, she didn't let me speak, she closed the glass door on my face while i was speaking to her and walked away. She lied and told me that Dr. Dove takes my trays with him while he is not in the office. Which was an absolute lie! The dental assistant came to the front and told Rude Millie she spoke to Dr. Dove and it was okay for me to have my trays. So all of a sudden my trays appeared. I wanted to make a complaint and asked for a name and number to file a complaint and Millie and the dental assistant told me they were not allowed to give me that information which is wild to me. I am a pediatric nurse and at my office when a patient wants to file a complaint we kindly give them the name and number to the person who handles these types of situations. I could not believe what i was going through, seeing, and hearing. And lets not forget that Vita how ever you spell her name is just as bad as the workers at the newburgh location. She is supposed to be the office manager and she is just as rude as the rest of them. I can see why customer service is so bad here since Vita is just as rude. I have 3 more trays left which is 6 weeks left to finish my process i paid out of pocket for this service whixh i am still paying until my last tray and these people have treated me terribly. At the end of the day i am a paying customer who will like to be treated with respect. As. A nurse i would never ever treat my patients the way i was treated here at newburgh dental associates. I spoke to a melanie person at middletown and was told i will get a call back from someone to help me file a complaint . This was last week Thursday no call baaxk. I followed up this Monday and was told i will get a call baxk. And today is now Thursday and not one call back from anyone. This place is absolutely terrible. I LOVE this office..and who says that about a dentist?! My children treat here and they are always super nice so I decided to treat here as well. So glad I did! I do NOT like the dentist, bad experience years ago. I wait until something big happens to actually go (not good, I know). I cracked a molar on Christmas Eve and needed an emergency visit. They fit me in that Monday. Dr. Hochbaum was a godsend! He was so gentle and polite. I ended up needing a crown. We set up a treatment plan but I got Covid and had to put it off for over a month. The day finally came and I was ridiculously nervous. No reason to be! I felt nothing! The assistant and the doctor were so gentle and reassuring, I was actually relaxed..at the dentist! I needed an adjustment and they fit me right in and I've been totally fine since. Just left my 6 month cleaning and had an old filling redone, and, again, the appt was smooth and I felt nothing! The doctor's bedside manner is top notch! He's polite and professional and even funny. I completely trust his knowledge and skill. The assistants and hygienist are great as well. Amazing office from the staff to the doctors! What is most important is that they are HONEST and caring!! They don't tell you lies to frighten you into having work that is not necessary! I have not been treated so well from a dentist office in a long time. They explain all your options and then you ask a question they take there time and answer you. They gave me a complete estimate for all work. The doctor went over what should be done first and then over the entire plan. He ask me several times if I had any questions or concerns. I don't understand other reviews but as far as I am concerned they explained everything, I asked a lot of questions and they answered them until I fully knew what was going to be done and the cost. They also took me in when I called on an emergency that day within an hour! If you want outlandish prices, Long wait times and sorta questionable work to be done go to Aspen Dental. They asked my husband "why don't you have the money" for an expensive procedure, which was not covered by insurance, when clearly one's financial situation is none of their business. When I tried to reschedule an appointment, I was scolded apparently because I had not responded to the incessant texts (to which I never "opted in" in the first place), including texts at 8:01 a.m. on a Saturday, and 3:26 p.m. the same day, and calls.
