I've been going to newburgh Power Equipment for parts for almost 25 years, but on this day, I was there to buy a new zero turn. I went in kinda knowing what I wanted but wasn't married to the ferris by any means. As I was browsing, angelo came down and asked if I needed help. I explained that I wanted to buy a mower and was looking at the ferris is700. He was telling me that it was a great machine and it was a good choice, and I proceeded to tell him that the law enforcement discount was what was persuading me to it. He asked if I considered a scag for their hero discount. I asked what it was, and he said 15% off the entire thing compared to the 500$ off the ferris. He showed me a nice scag patriot and said it was just as nice as the ferris but for a lot less with my discount. No bear came through and was asking about what i was looking for, and he also was telling me how great of a machine the scag is. I asked about a power bagger, and he checked to see if they had one, and they did. I said, "Let's do it then." He offered me free delivery, and they installed the bagger for me and delivered it 2 days later. Angelo and no bear are absolutely awesome down there. They can find you any part and really know what they sell. I highly recommend them for any power equipment needs and look forward to using them in the future. Went to Newburgh Power Eqp to buy a new riding mower. Being 80 years old I have to pee often. I asked an employee at the lower level where the restroom was located. He pointed to doors leading to the shop area. As I approached the door's Angelo's son at the top of the stairs asked me what I was doing. I told him I had a pee problem. In a nasty demanding voice he yelled "There are no bathrooms here".....I am a returning customer looking to buy that day....I will never shop at this store. I had to go into the nearby woods to pee.. I had a foot of snow to move on my driveway and blew out the v belt on my snowblower attached to my riding mower, this was on a Sunday morning. I made a phone call to NPE, they had what I needed and put it aside for me. Where else could you find a 113" belt for a 15-year-old riding mower snowblower on a Sunday morning? Although going here is sometimes a necessity, I make every effort to avoid this shady shop at all costs. The employees are lazy slugs, the building seems to be a major fire hazard with all the clutter and junk laying around, dust everywhere from the inventory never moving, and the prices are outrageous. First, customer service is severely lacking here and the employees are generally flat out rude or don't want to be bothered. Second, although the shelves are full of inventory, they seldom claim to have anything in stock. The shelves are full of overpriced accessories that anybody could buy in Walmart, but lack the parts and power equipment items that would draw you to shop here. A while back, I went here looking for a part for a lawnmower. The employee at the counter upstairs didn't even bother to acknowledge me. When I went to the counter, he seemed annoyed that I was bothering him. I explained what I was looking for. "I don't know, check the shelves. It might be back there." When I couldn't find it, I went back and asked if they could order the part. "If it's not on the shelves, we can't get it." A few additional times I've stopped in, they rarely had the parts I was looking for. One time only, they had the item and it was severely overpriced. The employee again seemed pretty annoyed that he had to go to the cash register, like I was wasting his time. Last week, I stopped in looking for a synthetic rope for a plow. Once again, "Nope, we don't have them and can't get them." Of course you can get them, anyone can order them on Amazon or any hardware store website. You simply don't want to get them. The shelves are a nightmare. They're completely unorganized. The inventory is full of dust - obviously nobody is buying any of this stuff. The items they carry are mostly nothing useful. They rarely have any parts for any emergency repair that you need to make. This place serves no useful purpose at all. read more

Don't buy any new equipment from this company the owner Angelo is a lying snake, he will promise everything to you but once you buy it you're on your own just like a cheap salesman. Forget about the manufacturer warranty and return policy Angelo will not honor it and neither will the manufacturer become you bought it from a dealership. Got taken hook line and sinker. I've been dealing with various different power equipment companies for many years due to my job. I finally had to deal with one for my own personal mower. This place is absolutely humungous first off. I called them twice to see if they had 2 separate parts for my old scag walk behind. Not only did they have in stock, but also put aside for me. The 2nd time I didnt have cash, and wouldn't take a card for under $10 purchase. So he gave it to me for free with a handshake deal I'd pay them back, which I did. Easily could've told me to go find an atm somewhere, but instead did the 100% right thing by me! I will recommend this place to anyone who asks me if I know a place for power equipment. Terrible service!!!! I bought my Husquvarna mower when I lived outside the area- and needed warranty service. The owner refused to service a Husquavana product he did not sell- even know he is a Husquavarna dealer!!!!!! Terrible business pratice. Horrible customer service and an even worse repair shop!!! i brought in a mower that was not running. they charged me for the repair and said it was "tested". when i got the mower home i was able to get it started so that much was done. then when i speed up the throttle i noticed it was not going up. thats when i saw the throttle cable was not connected correctly. also the mower has a 6 speed transmission. i noticed when i put it in the higher gears that the mower would start slowing down right away. that was because the assembly for the transmission was also falling apart. so their "test" was just to get it running apparently.... how they could not see at least the throttle cable was not connected while "testing" i have no idea??? they also sold my friend the wrong size tractor when he told him about his yard and the hills he has and then gave him a hard time about returning it when he didn't even use it. read more

I also had same experience with my mower as Michael M. Useless as it was 10 years ago. Really don't need to see owners shirtless! Last week they tried to say Toro was bankrupt and can't get parts. Ha - Toro (TTC) is a publicly traded company with a stock price of $91.35 worth far more than this lying bucket shop. Try to find a part and its like going through a garage of a pack rat. Alos when i did find something (notice I said when "i" found not them ) they wanted $12.95 for substitute part which is $1.93 online. Everytime you need something expect to be there an hour to buy the part. This was my experience the last time there. bought an 'expensive' lawnmower from these guys. Broke after first use - and they fixed it (took over a month - and i had to keep calling). on second use, broke again - and after 2 calls and 3 months told me 'not work fixing' - never even checked to see if warranty would cover it, even though promised they would. Never buy again - service was very poor - they are clearly more interested in selling equipment to lawn services, not people. read more

Don't expect a call when your repair is ready. My husband brought his chainsaw here to get repaired. They told us they would give a call when it was fixed. Fast forward about 2-3 weeks and still no call. I was in the area and decided to stop by and see if it was fixed so we didn't have to come back out that way. When I walked inside I was not greeted by anybody and had to stick my head in to get someone's attention. A man came over and asked if I needed help, I said yes and said I was seeing if my husbands repair was finished. He asked if I had the slip which I did not so I gave him his name and the brand of chainsaw. He said he was unable to check at that moment and said he would look into it and give us a call when he finds out. So I left and we never got a call from them. My father in law went a couple of days later to see if it was done and this time it was and we got our chainsaw back. Really terrible customer service. read more

They shouldn't get even one star. Bought a 24$ push mower hub adaptor. Installed it on 2 year old mower. Torqued it down and attempted to start mower. Mower did not even start and the part broke. Called and spoke with owner who was kept saying how much experience he has and I didn't install it correctly. No return no refund, but they conveniently offered to fix it for me. I am a landscape contractor. I called Newburgh Power looking to get a gas tank cap for my Little Wonder 13hp blower. I gave them all the necessary info so that they can look up the part number and see if they had one in stock. The response I received from them was "come on in and look thru what we have." Basically they would give me a milk crate of random parts so I can match up the part I need to my machine. Do they really think that I have 1.5 hrs to load up the machine, bring it to the shop only to find out that they don't have what I needed? I ended up calling Precision Equipment in Nanuet NY. As always, Precision looked up the part I needed, took my credit info over the phone, put it aside for me so I could have some else pick it up. This is the 2nd time Newburgh Power Equipment did this to me. Word around town from other landscape contractors is, Newburgh Power Equipment is a bad business to deal with. Possibly doing so poorly that they will be closing their doors soon. I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I didn't have to select rating before leaving a review. Stay away from this place like the plague. Horrible service. read more
