It's a beautiful spot and has the potential to be a five-star destination. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to fully enjoy it for the past three years due to the ongoing sewer project and continuous construction. I understand that infrastructure work takes time, but after three years, it's frustrating to still see so much disruption. I'm looking forward to the day the project is finally completed so visitors can enjoy this beautiful area the way it was meant to be enjoyed. I wanted to post this review since last year so you can have the opportunity to visit this place. It's a true great little spot to enjoy the lake. The water is warm, but good enough to freshen up these sunny days! You can swim, occasionally dive as a kid (?), or just hang at the sand/lawn. You can chase the shadow by the lawn. Few parking spots right next to the playground, but you can leave your car near down the freeway bridge. It will keep it "cooler". Great to paddle board just be aware that there are ships making waves all the time. Busy summers :D playground is fun too for kids. Clean restrooms and a cleaning outside shower to dust off sand. read more

I like how hidden this beach park is in Bellevue. Once sunny weather comes, beaches get packed around town, so it's nice to know that Enatai Beach Park has this particular spot that's more a locals hang due to its out-of-sight location. Enatai Beach Park is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend getting here early if you wish to claim a spot close to the beach. The sand area is small, and more so serves as a transition from the grass area to the water. People usually hang out on the upper hill lawn area, which has much more room. There are also benches throughout the area, as well as a spacious picnic shelter that looks out to the beach, with it being on an upper level. You can also rent kayaks and canoes here through the REI boathouse. The main dock area can be used for fishing, and there's a playground, restrooms, water fountain and area for a lifeguard. Getting here is easy. There's a parking lot, but you can also access this beach park from the Mercer Slough trail, which is how I accessed it in my most recent visit. It's only half a mile from the start of the Mercer Slough trail off of 118th. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed during the unofficial summer season through the Parks system, which starts June 1st. Yet, Enatai Beach Park is worth a visit if you're looking for a smaller, more neighborhood beach in Bellevue. read more

It's extremely quiet in Fall with some fisherman taking advantage of the stillness to catch some fish off the dock. This beach park has a tiny bit of sand next to the water and a small but new playground which is better suited for 3 and up. I like coming here because it gets nice sun and you can look at the water. This would be a nice place for you to just stop and take a breath. read more

Enatai Beach Park is a hidden find. Unless you have directions on how to get here, you will have difficulty in finding it. This is because the beach lies under I-90! The parking lot for the beach is right below it even. To get to the beach from I-90, you will want to take the Bellevue Way exit and then make a left at the first street that you see. You then take this residential road for several blocks and turn left at the end of it into the park. Compared with the "beaches" near the Bellevue Square area, I found this park to have a larger area of sand. In addition to the beach, there is a dock, kids playground and picnic table area here. This park also offers canoes and kayak rentals here during the late spring/summer months beginning in May. If you come here near sundown, you might want to cover yourself up or bring and apply bug repellent. I saw plenty of bugs flying about here. I really like this park. It gives you a up close view of I-90. The view of Lake Washington southward here is nice. It is a different vantage point than you would find further down the lake at Newcastle Beach Park. Though if you are looking for a spot with a more comprehensive view of Lake Washington, Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island would be a better spot for you. read more

Loved this gem of a park in Bellevue. Was brought here during the day by a date and I definitely fell in love with the place. Its kinda right under the freeway so tucked away a bit but its very quiet for a park on the weekends. There are also open benches and picnic tables, a grassy area/rocky spot to set up outdoor beach chairs, and a bit of a walking path out to the water and around the area. Definitely a nice place for a photo shoot or an outdoor picnic. Can't wait to return. So, oh so pretty read more

Enatai Beach is a great lil swim beach hidden under the I-90. It's also an easy stop off the bike trail, which is how I stumbled upon it years ago. Despite being located under a busy roadway, I give this a 4 stars, as it's all about the amenities! - You can relax/picnic on sand or grass areas. - There are full size picnic tables. - A swimming beach with lifeguards 12 - 7 p.m. from the last Saturday in June through Labor Day. - A Fishing pier, thou mainly used as a jumping spot for swimming kids. - Non Motorized launch space. - Canoe or Kayak rentals in the summer are available here. - Clean Bathrooms and even a cool water rinse shower. It's a great lil park to venture off from by kayak to the Mercer Slough. read more

Lovely park for everybody; there's a playground for the screaming young children to run around, low key hiding places for teenagers to smoke pot secretly at away from parents that claims their ivy league child is perfect, a kayak/paddle boat rental place for the adventurous to explore, beautiful view as the sun is setting for bloggers to capture photos on your new iPhone, and a bench at the end of the dock for the old to sit on and reminisce on the good old days before your back started hurting. Judging by the name you can probably tell that it's located within the Enatai's neighborhood which I looked up on Urban Dictionary what ridiculously hilarious definition they had because that's what I do for entertainment: "Enatai: The Bellevue Ga-Hetto that is way to cool for anyone." Agree, disagree? There's a parking lot that gets filled quickly, but plenty of neighborhood parking. There's not really any gate to keep you out after hours, but lifeguard does go home at some point though. It's nice that it doesn't ever really get overcrowded since Bellevue Park close by in downtown is the one that gets hit with the Pokemon Go stops. I typically fear public beach/park's bathroom, but thankfully we pay enough in tax in Bellevue for there to be staff to upkeep on maintenance here...or anywhere in this city, that's why I love Bellevue, 99 problems but uncleanness won't be 1 of them. When you want to catch some rays in Bellevue, with a a beach feel, this is the place. But don't expect a large beach area! Enatai is tucked underneath the I90, what an odd place for a beach! There is a small narrow strip of sand (aka "the beach") and an even smaller grassy patch on a hill where you can lounge the day. On a crowded day expect to be quite close to your neighbor as there is not a lot of room. On the up side, you can rent kayaks and paddle boards right on the beach, which is super convenient. read more

Stopped by enatai beach park today. Small beach right under 1-90. There is a dock and a small beach area. Picnic tables overlooking the water. Nice spot to stop and have a quick picnic lunch if you want to get out in the sun, but I do not think I would spend the day there. Many kids there today playing in the sand by the water. Great little place for kayaking and canoeing. We did canoeing for the first time and really enjoyed it. The beach is not to the standard of what we are used to in the Tampa Bay area but it's a beach nonetheless. They charge about $25 an hour for the rental and parking is free. read more

I came here with my 3 year old and some friends on a weekday morning. I don't think we'll be coming back just because there are plenty of other beaches that we like more. Pros: -playground -good sand -picnic tables -lots of grass -free parking Cons: -very small, especially the water space for kids -playground is up all the stairs so keeping your eye on more than one young child would be impossible -picnic tables are up the stairs and not close to the playground -limited parking read more

I had heard about this park many times but never had the pleasure of visiting it until recently. This is honestly one of the most amazing parks I have been to! I had to find an adequate location for an upcoming photo shoot and Enatai was by far the best candidate. We arrived at peak hours 1-3pm on a warm sunny day and we were able to find parking easily enough. There are docks and a beach below the park as well as a shop where you can rent canoes and such by the hour. We wanted to fish, but they would not let us! Well, that is not entirely true. They would let us fish under the blazing sun with over 100 people splashing. (Not really conducive to actually catching fish!) When we moved off to a quiet area under the bridge, that is when we were informed that we could not FISH where the LIFEGUARD could not see us. And to think, I have fished for over 40 years without a lifeguard! How did I ever survive!! read more

Can you canoe? My friends and I actually went to another place to rent kayaks but was referred here because of the calmer waters (we had a first timer with us). It was pretty busy the day we came but lucky for us they had a double and two singles still left. They employee's were very friendly (ask for Ryan) and helpful and answered our questions, ok not really "our" questions but the questions our newbie had. The beach is small but surprising empty. I'm sure that this is a hidden gems that all the locals know about and don't want it to get out. I'm also pretty certain they wouldn't appreciate me yelping about it...but I'm still gonna. My only complaint, and the reason they didn't get the fifth star, is they don't provide spray skirts or waterproof bags for your belonging. Fat girls grab your oars! read more

Great location but somewhat too restrictive rules. Children under 13 have to complete a swim test. They must swim 30 metres free style which is very unrealistic for those children who aren't Olympic performers i.e. Children who swim like a puppy but are proficient and won't sink even if ran over by a seal. Also, in keeping up with the Seattle Freeze modus operandi, the staff at this beach lack personality and a smile. A low rate Japanese robot would have done a better job. read more

The location is fantastic, not too crowded on a 90 degree Saturday afternoon. I didn't use it, but they had kayaks available to rent and bathroom facilities for use. The issues with this place: Floats are only allowed in the tiny shallow end of the already tiny swimming area. The lifeguard staff is overtly strict on unnecessary rules and I felt like I was being babysat as opposed to having lifeguards around. No clear signage stating that alcohol was not allowed, but the lifeguards will be sure to rudely ask you to leave. read more

This tiny little park is located on Lake Washington, (almost) underneath I-90 in Bellevue. There is a canoe/kayak rental faciltiy, beach, dock, playground, and a few picnic tables. Parking here is pretty limited and it's a bit of a pain to find the place if you're not familiar with the area, but otherwise a nice enough spot. read more

We took our kayaks here to use the public boat launch to access the slough. The facilities are nice and the slough is amazing. But the kayak rental service here makes it impossible to use the public boat launch. They told us they have priority and we're only being kind there let us pull in. We ended up having to get part way into the swim area which isn't safe. And it wasn't a busy a day, they just had 14 boats laid out empty blocking the entire beach because they could. read more

I like the park, but a rental facility for Kayaks has diminished the rating. The boat's were dirty and my wife had urine in her boat. Manager would not refund our money, and would not give back my license until I "paid". Will not ever return there. read more

I love coming here on weekdays aka days when it's not jam packed. There's a big grassy area, a little playground, and picnic tables. There are also kayak/canoe rentals available in the summer. Limited parking in the parking lot but you can always find roadsides nearby. The beach park is very small; there's not much of a sandy area for kids to play in. There are a few benches that are randomly placed and distant from the rest of the beach goers so you can enjoy a peaceful view alone or with someone special. A small and quaint park. Located at the end of the Enatai neighborhood. There is not much to it but it has a nice playground set for kids and during the warmer months you can rent kayaks here. The view iS beautiful although you are right underneath I-90 so you will here quit a but of traffic noise. There is a small area with tables that you can reserve so it's nice to bring food down here and enjoy the outdoors. read more

This is a great small beach to land on the east side. Totally different vantage point facing west across the lake. Hidden just beneath the deck of the 90 bridge (get directions). Features small parking lot, boat rental (beware of how rough the water is) - can canoe into the Mercer Slough area which is an adventure for the kids. Very nice, clean, etc. read more

fish here when in town. scads of decent-sized yellow perch, big bullheads, some channel cats, and some very large bronzebacks. some crappie and a few black bass too. someone caught a walleye last time i was here. like almost all swimming areas on lake washington, its good if they cleared out the weeds. also rent canoes during summertime too...if you want to go up mercer slough (across the bay) read more
