Mrs. K. announced that she was hungry, which means the clock starts ticking and I've learned not to let that countdown run too long before finding a place to stop for food. She wanted a sandwich. I asked Yelp and it pointed us to Newk's Eatery, and I remembered a having a good experience at one ten years ago in Panama City Florida so it felt like a safe bet. A full parking lot meant the lunch rush was in full swing but the line moved quickly and we were ordering in short order, her choosing a veggie sandwich with pimento cheese plus potato salad on the side while I stayed keto with a Cobb salad and no croutons. Despite the crowd, it didn't take long before we were seated and dining. Everything was fresh and satisfying, the kind of simple lunch that hits exactly right when you're on the road and just need good food without any fuss. Mrs. K. was fed and happy which is always the goal. My salad was generous and well balanced, her sandwich was exactly what she wanted, and the whole stop felt easy and pleasant. If you're not keto, those breadsticks are a great snack too. But for us, this was a quick, delicious lunch that kept the day moving smoothly and we were back on the road quickly. I'm in Jonesboro for work, so my coworker & I decided to grab lunch here. Overall, it was pretty average food. I got the Italian sandwich with a side of pasta salad. The Italian sandwich was very good! It was on a white baguette type of bread and it had a red cherry pepper sauce on it. It also had Dijon mustard, which I thought was an interesting choice, but I didn't mind it. As for the pasta salad, I didn't love it. It was very flavorless and tasted like they had cooked pasta and put some oil on it. Lastly, I got a fountain drink, and right now they have breast cancer themed cups! I love the cup design & took it home with me. For my food and drink, it was roughly $14. The service was good & the workers were friendly! The food came out in a decent amount of time too, especially considering it was very busy with it being lunch hour. I would come here again for lunch! read more

Newk's is one of my favorite places to go, so why did I give them two stars you may ask. Well I found my reception, the food, the service, the atmosphere, the cleanliness all subpar for Newk's. On arriving two people manned the registers, neither one of them were busy. I could tell instantly the last place they wanted to be was where they found themselves. After ordering, we went to find a seat. This is where they lost a star. We are almost a year into this pandemic and if you enforce social distancing then be prepared to clean the limited amount of tables left. I had to bus our table so we could find a place to sit. I saw five people standing around leaning. We then went to get our drinks. This is where they lost half a star. The drink station was trashed. The teas were empty or almost empty and there was spilled drinks and stickiness everywhere. Oh did I mention there were five people standing around leaning? Then because of the stickiness, I went to wash my hands. Oh this is where the remainder of the previous star was lost. I'm just gonna say YUCK, and not go into the description of the bathrooms. Once I arrived back at my table the food came. And this is where the third star was lost. The Italian sandwich was cold. The side salad tasted like dirt. I don't know if it wasn't properly cleaned or what. (I've never gone to Newk's and had a bad meal. I mean I have twenty-five black, clear, and teal Newk's cups if that means anything!) The only reason why I gave them two stars was because my meal and my child's meal was good. I expect better from Newk's. I may just forgo this location from now on , I'm not sure. Wanted some Newk's while we were in town so found this excellent place. Ordered on the app and then drove 15 miles from Lake City to pick it up. Order was ready and delivered curbside about ten minutes after I arrived. Order was perfect and everything was fresh and delicious. The place was packed on a Friday at lunchtime so be prepared to wait a little if you go. Worth it though. read more

I really love newks and come to eat here a lot though it seems that we lose sight of the customers in rush hour. I came in around 12:30 and order newks club with max and cheese though, the club knocked it out of the ball part. Yet, when I bite in my max and cheese it was as if they left it out over stone cold. Gave the new Newk's location a second try and it was much better than the other location. The food came out fast and delicious. I had a Newk's Q and Caesar salad pairing. The sandwich was really good and a good size for just a half with the small salad. I got full with salad leftover! Looking forward to adding Newk's to our rotation of places to eat! read more

Stopped by here for lunch after church. I had he grilled steak with chimichurri with Mac and cheese. My wife had the spinach and feta soup. My kiddos had a grilled cheese and a ham and cheese. My steak sandwich was amazing. The bread was nice and crispy; the meat was cooked nicely. Overall, it was great. The Mac and cheese was the true star of the meal. Their Mac and cheese is unbelievable! I tried the wife's soup. It was basically a potato soup with cheese and spinach in it. It was good. But I guess I expected something else. Not bad, at all. Just more potato than spinach. I didn't try the kid's food. But they ate almost all of it. So, I'm assuming it was pretty good. If you want a good sandwich pretty quick then give Newk's a try. They're pretty good. About the only thing I have to say negative about it is the price. read more

I ordered a salad and a San Pellegrino to go. I was on my way to the airport. I asked for a large cup of ice for my San Pellegrino. I was told that the only way to get a large cup of ice was to pay for another full size drink. Ridiculous!! I've already purchased a drink. I just happen to want it over ice and you can't provide a cup of ice bigger than a thimble for a drink I am purchasing from you??? The salad dressing was overpowering as well. Love the new location on Highland drive. The store is very clean and inviting. Lots of space for groups and large families to eat and visit. Staff is very friendly and prompt service. The food is always great and free breadsticks and pickles!! Both locations are amazing but the Highland drive spot has become my new favorite. Much easier to get in and out of from Highland without fighting so much traffic at the first location. read more
