Only an old "Witch" is still in 3B class. Her name is Brenda. The reason I'm calling her "witch" is because she never smile at you or kids. In stead, she will yell at your kids. She also doesn't like your kids to talk with their mother language. Gosh, they are only 3 years old and this is America. There were a couple of weeks that she is specially targeting my daughter (don't know why, the Witch was in bad mood?), making her really sad. I blame myself so much that I didn't realize earlier how bad the problem is. Otherwise, my kid would not suffer that much. She is such a nice and sweet girl that the teachers in another daycare want all the kids to be like her. And she is so happy now in the new school. I'm writing this review because I don't really want to see other kids to be trapped again (at least 3 years old class). Trust me, there are many other better daycares you can go.

We had ongoing issues with staff which we were regularly communicating with staff and the directors about. We decided to sign up for the video streaming service to see what was going on and pulled her that day. Staff were inattentive (one example being on their phones while my daughter was crying during nap time) and overly physical around the kids (one example being pushing cots while kids were on them and then when they fell off and were crying the adult didn't check in on the child). When I spoke with the director about what we saw she didn't deny any piece of it. One of her teachers was very nice but out often absent. The other teacher was cold and unsupportive (something the director even admitted) and should not be working with kids this young. Additionally there was only a small fenced in patch of grass by the road for my daughter's age range to play in and the playground was only for older kids to use. We only left our other day care, Wee Care in Albany, which was amazing, because we moved and needed a daycare closer to our new house. The drive in and out of Albany in rush hour daily would have been better than coming to Smart Early.

We did have some issues in the very beginning with a particular teacher being very rude and grumpy but she was fired within a month (we weren't the only ones), which in all fairness we didn't actually raise the issue with the center until after the fact since were new parents and still unsure of ourselves (no longer the case). It's a great facility and by-and-large, the teachers there seem to genuinely care about the children. From time to time, issues do come up, which I'm okay with since it's how they get handled that's more important. In our case, they've always been very responsive and directly handled any issue we raised whether it was facility or staff related, usually within the same day. My son loves it there and I have complete trust that they take good care of the children. They only loose 1 star because of cost. Don't get me wrong, I do put a high value on the people and institutions entrusted with my child, but that being said, it is one of the most expensive daycare centers in the area (second to Bright Horizons which is way down in Albany).

She too knows numbers and letters in Spanish and English and has become much more independent! I am blown away at the level of care that BGA provides. After four years and a significant investment in tuition for our two daughters, our family was…read moredisenrolled from Kid Kampus over a billing balance they claimed stretched back across nearly our entire enrollment, one we had tried to sort out with them several times. That ending summed up our experience with Kid Kampus: persistent communication failures and billing practices we could never get resolved. Communication was a recurring problem over our four years there. Questions about our children's care didn't always get a timely answer; some were answered only after we followed up, and occasionally not at all. Billing communication was worse. The balance in their billing app didn't always match what the director told us, and when we asked to go over our account by phone, email, or in person, we were told to review years of statements on our own first. In May 2023, the director confirmed in writing that our balance was zero. Even so, in March 2024 we were sent a list of weeks they said were missing payments going back to 2021, and questions about our balance and late fees kept coming up after that. Each time, we addressed their concerns promptly by clarifying our payments. Then, on the morning of Friday, August 1, 2025, we submitted the upcoming week's tuition payment. Just after 8pm that evening, we were disenrolled, effective immediately. The payment was processed days later, and our children were not allowed to attend. The disenrollment itself was handled just as poorly. The owner's email went well beyond billing, with personal, gendered remarks directed at me, comments bringing my spouse into it, and threats of police involvement and criminal cases over an amount a court later found we did not owe. Our children's belongings were to be left on a table outside during a one-hour window or thrown away, and the email closed with the hope that we wouldn't "repeat this again" with our future child care. Whatever the disagreement over the account, that is not how a childcare business should speak to a family it cared for over four years. Kid Kampus then took us to small claims court. We attempted to resolve this amicably and without the case going to trial, but we were unsuccessful. The Court, after reviewing all the evidence and hearing testimony, found that we did not owe the amount claimed by the daycare. Kid Kampus also agreed to return the payment for the week our children never attended. While we did like our daughters' teachers, the administrative and financial management overshadowed everything else. If you enroll your children here, keep careful records of every interaction with Kid Kampus, especially anything involving billing. Save emails and app messages, keep your own record of every payment, read the contract closely, and get every balance and policy confirmation in writing. Those records made a real difference for us. Other families may have different experiences, but ours was marked by billing disputes and communication breakdowns that should never have gone as far as they did.

However, after being there for almost two years, I expected the situation to be handled differently. Sometimes things happen for a reason. My daughter is now at a new school, and my husband and I have not received one complaint about her behavior. Her new teachers love her, she loves them, and she is excited about her new friends. She still misses some of her old friends, which is understandable because she basically grew up with them. Looking back, I'm really glad things turned out the way they did. Seeing how happy, comfortable, and loved she is at her new school has given me peace of mind. What initially felt like a disappointing situation ended up being a blessing for our family, and I greatly enjoy that for her.

And expensive even though they constantly ask parents to keep kids home and have terrible food. Have asked for feedback from other parents and this is not how other daycares are. New daycare is the opposite, no problems. Pulled him out despite no childcare for a while because it was so bad.
