I hope I can shed some light for some of the reviewers. Full disclosure, I'm retired, but spent 40+ years as an importer and distributor of european car parts. The companies I worked with created the backbone of the entire foreign car parts market in this country. So, having said that, of course the internet has radically changed the way consumers buy car parts. The days of going to a local parts store and relying on the expertise of the parts person and their selection of product have not been totally replaced, but online sources are far more numerous. Of course the reason is, creating an online "store" is far simpler and cheaper than opening a brick and mortar parts store and offers the distinct advantage that the online store does NOT have to anything in stock. How does that work ? The online store acts as a aggregator, or a broker, for orders. A customer books an order through amazon or ebay or other online presence and the online store forwards that order to one, or more, of their suppliers. The supplier(s) then processes the order and ships it to the customer while billing the online store. The process is called "drop shipping". Billing to the customer is handled from the online store and, if all goes well, the transaction is totally invisible to the customer. Problems can arise when something goes awry. In the case of online brokers, they are relying on the sales, shipping, warranty and return polices of their suppliers. When a problem occurs, the online store must rely on the speed and efficiency of the supplier which is nearly out of their control. An exception to this condition would be in the online store also had a brick and mortar presence large enough to handled returns and warranty issues. In the case of of newparts.com, this does appear to be the case. A google map search of the addressed associated with newparts.com shows a mid sized repair shop in Nashville, TN, "Autotech Import Repair Specialists" In the big picture, there may be nothing wrong with this. It well could be this address is used for billing and paper shuffling, but if that is the case, where are the parts ? To stock the level of inventory they claim, a warehouse in excess of 100,000 sq ft would be needed So they broker customer orders and have their suppliers drop ship the order to the customer. nothing wrong with that and if the customers get what they need, at a good price and a timely fashion all the better. I do have a problem with this claim they make on the website: "If you need it tomorrow then expedited shipping is available, but with over 50 locations Newparts.com has some of the fastest free ground shipping in the business." "with over 50 locations" ???? Where are these locations and why is the central location a repair shop in Nashville? The packing slip for a recent purchase from them showed : Bill to : Newparts, Nashville Ship to: Customer xyz The shipping label on the box shows it was shipped from one of the Parts Authority warehouses, specifically Hempstead NY Parts Authority is a large distributor with locations in 13+states So, newparts.com may have access to over 50 locations, but are those their locations ? Doubtful. Still, if all goes well, a customer can have access to thousands of parts from dozens of specialty warehouse across the country, but as the customer is most likely not dealing with actual stocking warehouse and shipper, even a small problem can become a huge one. Finally, parts is not a cut and dried business. It is complex and riddled with questionable information from the OEMs and constant part changes (supersessions) and can be difficult for consumer and supplier alike. Hope this helps read more

Ordered 2 Bilstein shocks at a cost of over $240 through Ebay under the name Partscontainer. Received a tiny package with 1 small packet of brake lube! I immediately tried calling the number on the website but it didn't work. Another number found online appears to be shared with another company. I messaged them but have received no reply. I've file for a refund with Ebay and reported them. I only wished I'd done some internet research on them, I would have seen the countless negative feedback and reviews. read more

Sad to report I ordered 2 Monroe struts. Both arrived but one had a missing part and had been installed by someone else, then returned and sent to me. It was missing the dust cover. My photo shows the wear from a coil spring being mounted on the spacer, and the strut was scratched. They did give me a refund but cost me over a week of down time for my repairs. Most online companies are decent with the basic concept of sending you the parts you paid for. In my case I bought a original Mopar waterpump for Pentastar engine. Got the part, and replaced leaking waterpump and life was good, for about 6 month. Next service found the brand new waterpump leaking. Since part was still under manufacturer's warranty, I contacted Newparts support about their replacement process. Something that typically takes few online clicks with my favorite online parts retailer, took over a week of back and forth emails. Most Newparts support could muster is one email per day. The end result was a request to purchase a new part, and return the old one once its off the car. So far, not good, not terrible. Once the failed part was off the car, I shipped it to provided address with provided RMA info, verified the part was received and waited for my refund. After about a week, I tried getting in touch. Finally heard from them that refund was approved, but they asked me to sent them PayPal request, stating they can't refund my original transaction, whatever that means. The refund was promised to be done within 1 day of Paypal request. Great?! Nope. Nothing came through next day, next week, or the week after. None of my status request emails were responded to. I tried chatting via their online system, the status was "we are working on it right now", yeah ok. I got sick of the silent treatment and opened a case with Paypal. Today, 3 weeks after original refund promise email, my refund went through, after PayPal pushed the case in my favor. As I stated during the opening, most companies are decent with basic concept of sending you the parts you paid for. If you want to really know how well the company operates, you have go through a return. As my example shows, this company is completely inept at customer service. Unfortunately, I had to find out for myself, and hopefully this review will save somebody the grief I had to go through to get my money back. The bottom Line on newparts.com is they'll say one thing to then do something entirely different. Coupled with their equivocations that is more than a little too far gone on the self serving scale, in their favor, and is definitely not in the customers' interest. A primary example from their website, newparts.com, they claim to sell the same OEM, Original Equipment Manufacturer, parts as the dealer, just at a lower price. Their definition of the "same" is more like an Apples to Oranges sort of a comparison. that equates the original manufacturers part sold by their dealerships with the cheap knock-off brand part by an unknown manufacturer shipped by newparts.com. What newparts.com portends their policies to be on their website is not how their policies are represented by their customer service reps. When I attempted to cancel an order because of questions about the fit and suitability of parts from newparts.com. They simply refused and said that my only option, Yes-this was before they were shipped, was to wait for the parts to arrive; then to ship them back, at my own expense. This interaction was counter to the policies described on their website. I noticed at the Better Business Bureau dozens of complaints by other motorists having the very same and highly similar issues with newparts.com. Some may ask: Why one star? I ordered parts from newparts.com and received a tracking number later that day. On the third business day when I saw FedEx was still saying they hadn't received the package I tried contacting their customer service only to be repeatedly sent to voicemail. I then contacted their sales department and someone answered the phone quickly and told me that the package hadn't been shipped yet. I requested order cancellation in writing through email and left voicemails with customer service. A week later the parts show up and the only way this company will communicate with me is through email. No one answers at customer service or returns phone calls. The only thing they will tell me through email is that once they "process the order and issue tracking" cancellation of the order is not possible even though they were still in possession of the package for several days after that occurred. It took so long that I sourced parts from another vendor, had them delivered and the vehicle back on the road days before these parts showed up. purchased an alternator from new parts.com. I wasn't sure what I needed so the sales rep asked for my Vin number and assured me that that would be the correct part and guarantee 100% that if it didn't fit, it would be 100% refundable or exchangeable not only my out the 450 for the part. I've also had to purchase two serpentine belts, shredded into pieces, and I couldn't understand why so I had to pay a mechanic to come out here on top of it to tell me that I had the wrong alternator in there. I contacted the company to my complaint and simply asked for an exchange because of their mistake and was told that it was past the 30 day mark and the return policy was void. I was never told anything about the 30 day return policy. I was told it was 100% guarantee if the part didn't fit they would take care of it and I could get an exchange or a refund, I spoke with who was a sales representative and was told that it was past 30 days and there's nothing he can do. I asked to speak with a manager or someone in upper management that was above him and I was told he wasn't in and there was no one available that was above his seniority manager when he had to call back and it went straight to voicemail after calling four times within an hour, and then had my wife call from her number and they picked up on the first ring when talking with that representative I explained the situation in detail and how I got the wrong part and he asked for my Vin number he admitted indeed I did get the wrong part and he was very apologetic and sent me to the managers office where I again got sent to voicemail. I repeatedly called back all day at least 8 to 10 times and I cannot get in contact with anyone again. It goes straight to voicemail. This is so unprofessional. I'm not asking for a refund. I just want them to honor their word and exchange this alternator for the correct part which was at no fault of my own. Stay away from this company! I ordered a set of Bilstein shocks from Newparts selling them through Amazon. The ad said that these shocks would fit my 2022 F450. When they were being installed it was then delivered that the mounting holes were not large enough for my shock mount bolts. Newparts was notified and immediately blamed me for ordering the wrong shock. Trying to get them returned for a refund was a nightmare, say the least. Numerous phone calls and left messages on answering machines never returned. I had to file a complaint through my credit card company to get my money back and to top it all off, they charged a restocking fee for their own mistake. TERRIBLE BUSINESS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I bought an OEM (supposedly) fuel pump for $338 from them. The pump died after 36 days, resulting in towing charges and Dealership repair price tags. The part has OEM 1 year warranty if the claim is initiated by them and they wouldn't do it. Excuse after excuse instead of 3 minute form filled on my behalf. The only explanation for their odd position is 1) the part is counterfeit, 2) refurbished, or 3) warranty has been already paid on it and they resold it. I saw some brake pads they had on ebay, Textar brand. I inquired about overnight shipping. They wrote back and said I needed to call their sales department over the phone. I called the number and ordered. I paid an extra $45 for overnight shipping (shipping was free for standard ground). The next day, nothing came. I asked for the FedEx tracking number, and naturally it showed the item had not even been picked up yet by FedEx a day later.
