Somehow even more fun than I remember as a kid! Extremely clean and organized aquarium with great tanks and healthy animals. The staff were all knowledgeable and seemed like they all loved being there too. Great variety of animals, more than just your typical fish with penguins, frogs, a crocodile and alligator, and more. My favorite was seeing the sea pickles and puffer fish! Only thing that could be improved is more facts about the fish - the "did you know" facts were somewhat random or basic for a lot. Maybe an improvement would be more staff walking around ready to answer questions.

Amazing aquarium with so many interactive things to do! They have an awesome giant viewing room to see the main aquarium tank where you can see the sharks. Then they have a petting section for smaller sharks. I love the uv light features for creatures like octopus and jellyfish. Make sure to do the shark walk at the end!

Want a fun time for couples? Or kids? Newport is your answer! My fiance and I had an Outstanding time! The staff were amazing! The exhibits were clean and fresh! And the experience for us was a new one! Would love to come back and see all the animals and enjoy it! We didn't eat in the aquarium but it smelt amazing in the cafe! The new jellyfish exhibit was cool, very colorful and fresh from the years before! A great way to spend a day on the levee!

We had a fun visit to the Newport Aquarium. I visited with a 4, 2, and 1 year old and all of them enjoyed it. Our favorite parts were the tunnel, all of the touch pools, especially the stingray touch pool, the crawl through tunnel, and the shark bridge. All of the interactive features kept the kids engaged and excited to see what was next. This will be a destination that we will keep coming back to for years to come. I didn't love how you have to walk through the gift shop to exit, but it was an overall great experience.

What a fun aquarium. We had the best day here. Parking is underneath the building and reasonable $6. Holiday music was playing throughout the exhibits. It was definitely worth the drive. We saw sharks, penguins, sea turtles a white alligator and an entire stingray exhibit. They have a touch tank too, they teach you about animals which was interactive and cool. We went on Black Friday and they had a discount on line for tickets. It may be worth researching before you go if there is any discounts. You admission ticket offered a discount on fudge or discount on an annual membership. This is located on the levee with restaurants and bars within walking distance.

This aquarium is amazing! We spent three hours exploring and my kids were entertained and engaged the entire time. Some of our favorite things: -lots of opportunities to pet sea creatures -indoor play areas -cafe was decently priced for treats -glass structures are created in a way that makes you feel like you are in the tanks with the animals -interactive opportunities

This aquarium is in an amazing location for starters. I love the idea of a timed entry if necessary, too, but we arrived about an hour early, and they went ahead and let us in. Definitely has a lot tailored more to the kids, but still has plenty for adults to see as well. There are loads of exhibits, and the shark bridge was interesting and sort of scary at the same time! They are literally below you, and while you are in a netted bridge, seeing sharks swimming in open water below is an experience! The tunnel was great, too, so many species, clean tanks, and a lot to see, especially considering how far away from the coast you are!

Took my daughter here and we had an absolute blast. Ended up getting annual passes since she loved it so much and I knew we'd have to be back. I've been to the Sydney aquarium in Australia and many other huge aquariums to compare to, and yet I still loved our experience here. This was super fun and great to take your littles to. If you can go when the mermaids are there, I 10/10 recommend going to that. My daughter loved the pretty sparkles and decorations on the mermaid tails and just how elegant they looked in the water. Also the mermaids were so kind and happy to interact with so that helped too.

Great place to visit for any ages. It may be a little crowded when you go through the water tunnel, but it worth visiting. It gives me some peaceful moments by looking at fishes and underwater lives. It was fun to watch a live pelican show!

Newport Aquarium was a great way to spend a few hours. We had our 7 month old baby with us who enjoyed the different aquatic animals. They had multiple displays for older kids/adults to touch some of the wildlife. It seemed to just keep going and going which was nice. Think it was $86 for my wife and I and the baby was free which seemed a little steep sounds like if you get tickets in advance it's cheaper which I would suggest. They also have a mother's room to feed and change babies which was nice. But all in all I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the place and diversity of exhibitions. Worth checking out if in the area!

We came here for the penguin experience. I would have to say it is well done and had great mix of interaction and also education. My son got his photo taken and also pet the penguin twice. He also took video and photos on his camera. We were able to buy digital photo package afterwards which is nice since it was taken by photographer in the room. Rest of aquarium is nice and had lots of viewing tunnels. There is a kids indoor playground but that was okay. Cafe inside for food but we opted the food court inside the levee at newport. Parking was reasonable at $6 nearby loft hotel.

How long does it take you to go through the aquarium? Wondering if I should plan just this or something else to do too? Thanks

A couple of hours, like the others said, but there is a bookstore by the aquarium and a movie theatre next door as well as a lot of restaurants, so you can be entertained for several hours at the levee

Has anyone or group been to the overnight experience at the Newport Aquarium?

We were there in early April, so all the gorgeous spring flowers (daffodils, tulips, hyacinth) were in full bloom. The parking lot is close to the entrance and I like that there is shade for your car. (note it is $10 to park). You enter the zoo by going up an elevator or escalator. It is the same as the Pittsburgh Zoo entrance. One thing to note is that the zoo is hilly. No matter what direction you go, you will have some up and down hills. It is easy to navigate, though. The day we visited, we were very fortunate that almost every animal was out and active! The giraffes were wandering in their yard, the lion was chatty and playful, the zebras were enjoying their enrichment, the hippos were swimming and playing. I don't know that I've ever been to a zoo where so many animals were all active and visible! The signage was plentiful and easy to navigate and everything was well kept and clean. There were plenty of spaces to sit and relax and most animals had plenty of space to enjoy. A wonderful visit to a beautiful place.

The museum itself is incredibly hands-on and interactive. My kids could have stayed all day. The water play area was a huge hit (bring a change of clothes or use the smocks they provide), and the construction zone with life-size building blocks kept them busy for ages. I loved that it's set up in a way where kids can explore independently but parents can still keep an eye on them easily. The staff was friendly and kept things clean, which I appreciated since little ones are touching everything. The whole museum is very family-friendly, with spaces for toddlers as well as older kids, so no one feels left out. Another bonus: since it's inside the larger Museum Center, you can easily combine your visit with the Natural History Museum or an IMAX show. Parking was simple, and there are food options inside, though we chose to pack snacks. Overall, it's the perfect place for kids to play, learn, and burn off energy--rainy day or not. Highly recommend for families in Cincinnati or anyone visiting the city!

We sailed on the River Queen which is the smaller boat. The food buffet was very good and there was something for every taste. Very fresh salad with two dressing options, rolls, meltingly tender beef in a rich brown gravy, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, farfalle pasta in red sauce, scrumptious grilled vegetables. And decadent creamy cheesecake for dessert. Free coffee and tea, and reasonably priced bar drinks for purchase. Our server, Anna (Onna?) was most attentive and usually within sight if you wanted something. The whole crew were very professional, very polite and respectful and eager to please. Our entertainer was engaging with his ongoing narration of the sights and historical facts along the river interspersed with banjo music. The two hours went by quickly. I put on my hoodie and spent some time out on deck, where you can smoke 'em if you got 'em. I decided it was time for a cocktail so I ordered an Anchors Away which was delicious, nautically blue, and had a definite kick. I was really looking forward to getting the pictured souvenir glass, but the first of two wrinkles took place as I was advised they were out of them due to some recent large parties on the bigger boat. Boo. If you're going to advertise souvenir glasses, order more than enough to keep them in stock. Anna arranged to give me the drink in the larger souvenir vessel, which is pretty, but heavy ceramic and I don't see myself using it at home other than for a decoration. The second wrinkle was our bar tab printed out as though I ordered multiple drinks. My husband didn't look at it and just handed over the debit card...then I saw it and went up to tell them not to run it but it was too late. Somehow they had already realized it was wrong but it took such a long time for them to figure out how to void the transaction, which bothered me. The cruise director had to get involved to fix it. Her name was Tasha and she was very nice and so apologetic about the situation, she comped our drinks for the trouble and boxed up some cheesecake for us to take home. She seemed to agree with me that if the owners had not decided to "go cashless" last year this would never have happened. I asked her to pass on my comment that it is not good to refuse to accept payment in legal tender American money and I feel it was a bad move. For this reason I will never give five stars even if the cruise is flawless. Nonetheless I hope to have the chance to take a cruise on the River Queen later this year.

Friendly service. The food was pretty good. Several options on the buffet, including ample vegetarian options (salad, pasta, mashed potatoes). Dessert was lacking in freshness and flavor. Would have liked some trivia or narration of the sights and history of Cincinnati. The music was nice but ended the night being REALLY loud. Overall it was a nice way to spend an evening particularly to see the skyline and get some sunset photos. I couldn't recommend for the ambiance or the food itself.

The staff is extremely helpful in guiding you to the right person and the individuals behind the counter are very helpful as well. I was using a reciprocal membership and once they verified Pittsburgh was far enough away (it very much is as Cincinnati is almost five hours from Pittsburgh) it was easy for them to issue us the tickets. We came specifically for the Auschwitz exhibit which was located on a lower floor. Signage was clear and there were ample staff to help guide to the appropriate location. In addition to the four museums covered by the one museum fee, this building also houses a gift shop, cafe area and the Holocaust Center (whose entrance is at the back of the space and a different ticketing system). There is a LARGE parking area in the front of the complex. It is an uncovered surface lot and on a busy day could be quite a walk to the entrance. You can, however, pull up right in front if someone from your party needs to be dropped off.
