I had such a great experience at Newport Beach Dentistry. I went in for a deep cleaning and X-rays with Dr. Ryan, and everything went smooth as butter. He even took pictures and showed me what's going on with my teeth and how I can keep them healthy, which I really appreciated. I don't usually write reviews, but this experience needs to be shared. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Dental hygienist were amazing, but their turnover rate was incredibly high. Front desk was kind and respectful. But Dr. Frank.... Please read below. I was told by this office that my teeth were in such bad condition that I needed cleanings every 3 months. I trusted their professional judgment and followed that plan. To be fair, the dental hygienist I initially saw did a thorough and professional job. However, another dental hygienist turnover, not available to do my cleaning, this is when everything changed - when the dentist himself did my cleaning. The appointment lasted no more than 15 minutes. He rushed through it, skipped over teeth, and barely did any actual cleaning--while at the same time telling me how bad my teeth were and how much work I supposedly needed. It didn't add up. I left feeling like the service that was incomplete and careless. After that, I specifically requested that only a dental hygienist perform my cleanings moving forward. Not only was that request not honored, but I also noticed a pattern: every visit, there seemed to be a new hygienist. High turnover like that raised concerns for me. At my next appointment, I was told my requested hygienist was no longer there and that the dentist would be doing the cleaning again. I declined and explained my previous experience--that the cleaning was rushed and not done properly, especially for the price. Shortly after, I received a notice that the dentist would no longer provide care for me because I was not complying with their recommended 3-month cleaning schedule. From my perspective, this feels less about patient care and more about pushing recurring, out-of-pocket services. Being told you need frequent, costly treatments is one thing--but when the quality of care doesn't match the recommendation, it raises serious concerns. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. Quality, consistency, and trust matter--especially when it comes to your health. read more

They will upsell you and there are too many disappointing things about this office and staff, I would be here all day to write but I don't want to think about them. They always run late as well. This is the most unprofessional medical office I've ever experienced. First, the dental assistants completely missed a large, very obvious issue when taking photos for the dentist. The dentist didn't even bother to look at my wife's mouth, but rather only at the photos. He insisted everything was fine, and I had to ask multiple times so he look again. He begrudgingly agreed, as if he's the kind of dentist who's afraid of teeth. Once he saw the issue, he wrote a referral for a root canal specialist. He made it very clear that we would need to return to him after the root canal for him to redo the filling. We went and got this done, and when I call back to schedule the filling, I'm told I'll have to pay out of pocket. I have good coverage and I know fillings are covered at 100%. I called my insurance, they confirmed it. I had my insurance call the dentist to confirm, and fax over my benefits and coverage details. My wife needs the filling, as the temporary one could fail any day. It's a time-sensitive matter. The representative continued arguing with me, insisting I pay out of pocket. This is where I'm the most shocked. My insurance rep offered to call the dentist and get things ironed out, and the dentist hung up on them twice. After that, we decided to try a 3-way call and the dentist would answer, realize it was us calling, say "please hold" and hang-up. This happened three times. They're greedy, manipulative, and altogether unprofessional. I'm still shocked at the way we were treated but an office that is otherwise well regarded. read more

I wanted to love NBD however after the oversell of "cavities" I had I sought a second opinion and I have ONE from the FOUR they alleged. They also run some wand around your face that beeps to alert them of a cavity. I wouldn't go here, look elsewhere for a practice not looking to keep you in the chair and drill every tooth. read more

I was shocked! It had only been one year since my last dental visit with a doctor I had seen for some time. I was NOT having ANY major issues. After moving to Newport Beach, I made an appointment with Dr. Frank. They took a lot of pictures and some X-rays, then Dr. Frank proceeded to tell me I needed EIGHT CROWNS...and that I had cracked teeth??? I asked him if this is what the X-rays showed. He said he couldn't tell by the X-rays because he wasn't able to see thru my existing crowns????? He got his information from PICTURES!!!!! This is just plain NUTS!!! I absolutely hate going to the dentist and haven't had time to in years. However, Newport Beach Dentistry offers a great dental experience. The office itself is nicely decorated and kept very clean. The front staff are so welcoming and friendly. They answered every question I had regarding appointments, insurance coverage, electric toothbrush and waterpik recommendations. I was also given brochures and any paperwork information. Dr. Ryan Foroutan is very professional and also answers all my questions with thorough explanations. I had questions regarding Invisalign and retainer wearing and he was so welcoming in explaining everything. If I needed cavity fillings, root canal, or any invasive dental procedure, Dr. Foroutan was never pushy about having me do it right away, which made me feel comfortable that I could make my own decisions. His dental hygienist (I didn't catch her name but she was one for 30 years) was also great and professional. I was initially not approved for a deep cleaning but needed one since, again I hadn't been to a dentist in years so there was so much plaque build up that could lead to gum infection. The staff was so kind to submit the deep cleaning to my insurance again & it was fully approved. They are great in reminding me of appointments and there's high quality patient care. DON'T GO HERE!! They are a complete SCAM. They falsely accused me of having numerous dental issues when afterwards speaking with three other dentist they said it wasn't true. Also, they over charged me by not telling me the procedures that we're going to be done and did them anyway without my approval. They underplayed everything and over changed everything. Horrible dentist, hygienists and receptionists. They also do NOT give you your personal medical documents (this is illegal) and you should have access to all your bills, statements, XRYAS, etc. Not only this but they tried to attempt insurance fraud. I will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Please watch out for this place, they are SCAMMY and FRAUDULENT. I did and a message was left for me. I called once I got off work at 4:00 and was told by Monica that she could not hear me due to bad connection and would call me right back. Never did. Not even a call back today. Bad first impression. With all the competition out there you would think there would have been some effort to call a new customer back. They said it could take up to 2 months to see if it was approved . I waited more than 2 months and never heard from them . Dr. Frank Forouton is amazing it's my second visit here. My first visit was for my consultation and clean, which I was super satisfied with. It's always nerve wracking to visit the dentist for some people, that wasn't the case for me. The staff here is amazing they make you feel as comfortable as possible.
