First, I want to suggest if anyone had their license suspended and the last time you took the driving test was a decade or more, ago, opt to take the beginning driving course. Make the instructors aware that you're taking the. SDE test but definitely opt for the beginning driving class. I had to definitely take the beginning, driving course to break old habits that I created for years . Bella is a patient ,understanding, sweet, instructor. She gives great tips and advice. She also offered up her own struggles, taking the test when she did so that you don't feel so alone In not passing the first time. I took the 2 hour stick lesson with Eric. It was my first time, but he taught me in a controlled and safe environment. Although I stalled the engine in the beginning, I managed to get to get in the first gear without stalling. Eric taught me lots of tricks and tips on how to safely drive a manual. I even learned on getting into first gear on a steep hill without stalling!! The tip is slow is smooth, smooth is fast! The price however was too much for me 220$ for two hours. I got a traffic ticket for speeding and I was recommended by the DMV to go to this school, the school was very reasonably priced, fast (got it done in under 2 hours in one afternoon) , very easy to understand and secure website. I absolutely love this school, they also give you a $3 coupon toward the services again if needed. Very simply explained I signed up got it done and finished my traffic school so quick, I was very worried about it and thought it would be a big headache but Newport driving school was amazing! They also give the option for a few dollars more you can have the Newport driving school send the DMV your completion of driving school & update you on it which is super important (because you need to contact the DMV yourself to make sure they received it). I told him that I had my actual test appointed at the DMV in Costa Mesa, so we practiced locally each session to get a better grip of the city. So, that was perfect! He did take me through the same procedure as the actual test, including the starting point as well as the procedures. I did my online traffic school course with Newport Driving School and I couldn't be happier. I got a ticket a while back and I needed to take traffic school to clear the point. There were a ton to choose from and I'm glad I picked this one. Their website was super easy to navigate and it only took a very short amount of time to select the course, enter my information and get everything set up. They send you emails with everything you need to know (like your account login and your personal questions/answers). The course stays live until you've completed it or you've attempted it twice and failed. The course material is written pretty well and much more interesting than the DMV handbook. There are a bunch of chapters that you read and there are three questions at the end of each. Then there's one longer test at the end that is mandated by the DMV. Overall, it was painfree and all my procrastination and trepidation were for nothing. You can do it at your own pace too (e.g. a chapter a week). I'm hoping never to get a ticket again, but if I do, I would definitely sign up for the online course from Newport again. read more

Carlos is a great teacher who taught the concept of driving better than I could to my wife or her previous driving school. Before they drove he spent 30 minutes showing her the blind spots, how you should measure space and when is a good time to turn by using street signs as distance markers. He taught her how to use the steering wheel like a clock as far in how far to turn it and how that related to turns. He made Parallel Parking easy for her. She is now confident and her fear of the roads went away; because Carlos taught her the concept of safe fluid driving. Which gave her much more confidence.
