Dr Shukla has been my pulmonologist for over 20 years, he's a special doctor, extremely knowledgeable and just a good person.

This office doesn't have email. They don't have EMAIL. It's 2026 and if you want to send them documentation, you have to FAX it to them. They're incredibly hard to communicate with because of it. I had to download an app to my phone so I could send them medical records via fax. They wanted me to do some specific sleeping positions to improve sleep apnea but said they couldn't email them to me so told me to "google it" instead. Are you kidding me? I switched my doctor. The office manager called me and offered to rectify the situation in a way that made me feel seen and taken care of. Dr Diamant is great... I had an appointment for the next day at 9am and I called at 9am the previous day not to just cancel but to reschedule... So... I called at 9am the day prior but after waiting on hold for 8 - 10 minutes i hung up and decided to call back, as I had a meeting. I called back a little before 11am, again, not to cancel, but to reschedule. I was informed that i did not give a full 24 hour cancel notice and would be charged $50 cancel fee. I explained i tried at 9am and I'm trying now, but the woman who was speaking with me did not care, again, expressing that I was at the 22 hour mark and not the 24 hour mark. So... I paid her the fee, plus 3% for using a debit card, but I will not go back at all, and will find a new pulmonary doctor... read more

My husband had an appointment with Dr. Thomas Diamant on Monday @11:30am. He has Parkinson's disease, in a wheelchair, on disability, has Medicare and is not able to drive. I became ill on Sunday and called the office as soon as they opened at 9am Monday to reschedule the appointment for his lung nodule test results. The office stated, "$50 had to be paid in order to reschedule under 24 hours". "And that was the only option/way to get his results". No exceptions! -They were not open 24hrs prior to the appointment to notify them. -They do not do phone appointments. -They do not call to go over test results. -The doctor does not take messages and will not return calls. -They would not allow me to reschedule unless we paid $50. -Isn't it illegal to charge a patient for test results? -The office manager was not available to speak with. -What happened to patient "care"? The lack of humanity in this office has lost our business and any future referrals. read more

It's been a long time since I have seen Dr. Shukla but due to having my respiratory problems, chronic bronchitis, resurfacing. I am planning to set up another visit soon. I recall Dr. Shukla's attention to detail was unlike anyone I had ever seen. Not only that but is wise sage view of science and natural medicines made me feel respected, as I have been reluctant to take any medicines our doctors want to prescribe. My first visit he asked what were symptoms and how has been health been. When I responded that I had undergone cancer treatment 7 months prior and had been living with MS for over 19 years he then went into his office, review all the diseases I was fighting and considering my bronchitis symptoms, he then came back, now understanding what I was really up against, he prescribed something that would not complicate anything I might be going through. This was all on first visit. Over the next several months, my lungs began to feel normal again and praise if for my speedy recovery. He is the only Pulmonary Doctor I would ever recommend in Souther Cal. read more

Dr. Shukla is an outstanding medical physician. He spent time going through my records and explained each Xray and scan. He had done his " homework" ahead of time and communicated the findings in a comprehensible manner. He spent lots of time asking me questions and assessing my situation. It was an educational experience for me learning how to make choices to help alleviate my problem. His staff is professional and cordial. He is a rare jewel in medicine today. read more

You can't book an appointment without a referral from another doctor. When you're concerned about not being able to breathe, red tape is the last thing you need. This doesn't seem like the policy of a doctor who truly cares about people. read more

Dr. Shkla was the first Pulmonologist so sit down and educate me about my pulmonary problem. He explained why certain foods were disadvantageous when my asthma flares up. He described other environmental factors to be aware of in the futuire. I respect him and recommend him highly. read more

Dr. Shukla answered all of my questions my wife and I had. He had all of our records on hand so he know our history, no other doctor does that. Went to him for an opinion on problems with my lungs. Ended up spending as much time talking about my Diabetes and being overweight. That was not what I was there for. Obviously, my weight plays a role in my breathing. I'm 50. I think I know I'm obese and at his time in my life, I really don't think the pointing it out and criticizing is effective. Although I did eventually get answers from him, he was cold, aloof and appeared very arrogant and rude. Did not go back and never will. read more
