I have been keeping my eyes open for a local acupuncture doctor who is "top notch" and close to home. One afternoon after leaving my doctor's appointment, I noticed there was a acupunture doctor in the same center. Before then, I was completely clueless of Dr. Shohre Mehvar & Newport Wellness Group. Dr. Shohre Mehvar focuses on my digestive system and treats other conditions as they come up. For example, I have allergies and when the pollens are high I get sinus headaches and puffy eyes. I don't even know where to start with Dr. Mehvar... Six years ago I was in two severe accidents within two days of each other. I suffered from severe migraines, vertigo, neck, back and hip pain and much more. Shabnam and Dr Mehvar are lifesavers! I had an IVF transfer scheduled in October, and my fertility doctor was concerned about the lack of a trilaminar lining in my uterus. Without the trilaminar lining, my frozen embryo transfer would have been cancelled. The doctor even suggested I consider surrogacy. I am a prostate cancer survivor, mid-50's. 8 months post-surgery my testosterone level was at the very bottom of low-normal (250), which can contribute to a myriad of health and lifestyle issues. Although the research is inconclusive, urologists are reluctant to put men who have had prostate cancer surgery on testosterone. And since my cancer was highly aggressive, they completely ruled it out.. I thought it would be easy to get pregnant through IVF after having 2 natural pregnancies. I was wrong. After 3 egg retrievals and 3 chemical pregnancies after embryo transfers, I looked to acupuncture to help me in my 4th transfer. I had no medical issues that would have prevented me from getting pregnant. I had good quality eggs and embryos but it seemed like nothing would work--no matter what medications I was on. I was referred to Shabnam and after 6 weeks of treatments prior to my 4th transfer and acupuncture on the day of the transfer, I got a positive pregnancy test. Two days late I had another BETA and got another positive test. Several years ago, my neurosurgeon referred me to Shabnam after I was in a very severe car accident that left me needing multiple spine surgeries. I had headaches so bad that I could barely open my eyes, severe neck and back pain, and was unable to even drive myself to my appointments. I saw improvements after just a few treatments. Since then, I have continued to see Shabnam and she has treated me for a wide variety of conditions. Shabnam is one of the kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met.
