Aside from the pain of injection into my already inflamed joints (big toe and shoulder) being…read moreEXCRUCIATING...and that is coming from someone with a super high pain threshhold...the PRP/Plasma injections did absolutely NOTHING to relieve my pain in either joint. To add insult to injury, my insurance company said the injections would be covered, if they received an itemized bill with the diagnostic code and procedure codes, which I looked up and provided to QC Kinetix. After assuring me that "they would work with me", they refused to give me an itemized bill, saying "they don't do that", nor would they have their medical director sign the bill, or add the billing codes to the bill. Bottom Line...I paid thousands of dollars for nothing and they wouldn't even help me recoup my expenditure.

I started this long process over a year ago with great hopes of avoiding knee surgery. I have torn…read moremeniscus and arthritis and have problems with general anesthesia. I took my MRI scans and medical information with me but no one wanted to see it, stating they were positive this would work for me. My initial visit was supposedly a free consultation with Barry but after three long hours of pressure and promises I not only started injections immediately, but was pushed to finance it through CareCredit when I said it was more than I had expected to pay. The only reason I finally agreed was because I was PROMISED two times that if it indeed did not work all my money would be refunded. Over and over I was told miracle stories to seal the deal. Twelve thousand dollars I am in debt creating a hardship for me now to afford the actual surgery I need. I have had absolutely no improvement at all. I am actually worse and fear the year of not properly repairing this is going to cause me to need knee replacement instead of the suggested meniscus removal. Some of the injections were horribly painful and the stem cell procedure out of my back brought me to tears. All for nothing and now I will be paying forever, and all because I believed what I was promised. In the Pooler office I was also treated by a doctor who has a criminal record for practicing without a license, without QC Kinetix ever telling me so I could make the decision if I would be ok with that. My advise to you is IF you decide to give this a try make SURE you find the line on their contract that says you will not be refunded if this fails, cross it out and have them initial it because their word means nothing, although verbal contracts are legal in my state where I initially agreed to try this based on their promises. This is a company that preys on people's desperation and when they fail just write you off and ignore you and will lie to get you to agree to try. I am so devastated by this because I trusted them completely, everyone there SEEMS to care and are so nice, until they get your money. This goes down as one of the worst experiences in my life, in so many ways. I am speaking with a reporter now who wants to do a story on this so stay tuned.

Upon walking into the office today, the front desk asked us to sign in, and the first words she utters are "you're late". Yes, our appointment was scheduled for 11:15am. Yes, we are checking in at just after 11:30am. But if my baby is showing signs of hunger at 10:58am, you better believe I will feed my child rather than deal with Armageddon to arrive on time. Next, she refers to my child as a boy when that's incorrect, then even says "I don't know how to say this baby's name" while on the phone with billing. What could've been done is to put yourself on a moments hold and ask me "I'm sorry, but how do you pronounce your baby's name?" I don't know, but that's just customer service training, and an individual with common courtesy, would maybe do. When we're finally taken to the back, the staff and doctor are telling me to sit down to help with my postpartum swelling, telling us how baby is doing great, and even offer the nursing room towards the end of our appointment when signs of hunger are apparent. A completely different experience from our arrival. But that's not to say it was the same during our initial visit. During our initial visit, the front staff were understanding and joked with us that it's expected, especially with new parents, to run behind schedule, so we shouldn't feel stressed. Someone working the front desk today obviously missed the memo. It was a completely night and day experience.

Review for Dr. Newsome and Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists…read more In May, while I was a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital, I found myself in need of having a couple of toes amputated. It was a frightening and emotional experience, but Dr. Newsome's exceptional care made all the difference. He treated me as a whole person, not just a foot, and that compassion made this journey much easier to get through. Dr. Newsome is incredibly communicative and takes the time to explain everything -- what's happening, why, and how to stay healthy moving forward. His professionalism and empathy truly stand out. I also want to recognize Sharon, the nurse in the office, who is kind, caring, and always greets you with a warm smile. She makes every visit comfortable and reassuring, and her gentle touch when changing dressings really puts you at ease. I can't recommend Dr. Newsome and Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists enough. They've provided not only top-notch medical care but also genuine compassion and encouragement through my healing process.

I saw Todd Newsome for mild foot pain on 9/4, followed by a second visit on 9/12. He taped my foot…read moreand told me my pain was likely from soft tissue injury or damage, though no formal diagnosis was provided. At the follow-up visit, he recommended a cortisone injection. He did not explain any potential risks or side effects, nor did he conduct any imaging (e.g., ultrasound) to try to provide any more information. There was no mention of serious possible complications like tendon or nerve damage, tissue necrosis, etc. Trusting his judgment, I agreed to the injection. I definitely would not have consented had I been properly informed since the potential risks strongly outweighed my minor pain, level 2. Within a week, despite rest and icing, my pain significantly worsened, more than at any point before treatment. I contacted the office and received a call back from Todd Newsome on 9/19 after office hours. During our conversation, I mentioned that I had felt something "pop" during the injection and asked whether a tendon or bone might have been affected. His response was unprofessional and hostile, he accused me of lying and "trying to turn this around on him," and shouting that I had come in with "extreme chronic pain" which was clearly not true. My attached medical record shows this. At no point during this call did he show any concern regarding the outcome of his treatment or ask any follow-up questions about what symptoms I was experiencing to rule out infection or provide help. When I pointed out that I never reported having extreme chronic pain and that his reaction was very defensive, he told me to seek care elsewhere. I have since seen another provider at Ortho Pooler, who was far more thorough. They confirmed that a cortisone shot was not appropriate treatment for my level of pain and should be reserved for severe cases of pain levels 8 or higher. The experience here has left me in worse condition than before seeking treatment and raises serious concerns about the level of professionalism and patient care provided by Dr. Todd Newsome.
