They have a wide range of specialities, including podiatry, cardiology, a cancer center, dermatology, pediatrics, neurology, primary care, OT and PT. It's easier to obtain an appointment there than in MGH's downtown location. Consequently if you live in a western or northwestern suburb, it's your best bet for MGH care. The front line receptionist staff are happier and more patient orientated than the main downtown hospital. I speculate that this "happy" atmosphere even permeates medical appointments. It certainly has been my experience that physicians seemed more relaxed. The doctors often split their time with MGH downtown. They have an in building eatery. There is a podiatry speciality store selling lots of cool speciality products for your feet. The building is surprisingly aesthetically pleasing. It is appointed with wide and spacious hallways and this makes it particularly wheelchair friendly. You can relax in comfortable armchairs in a sunswept atrium. So it's ideal if you are accompanying a friend or family member for a medical procedure. (Parts of it remind me a a pleasant hotel lobby.) There is easy and close access to the highway - another plus for people with disabilities. Indeed the entire experience there is disability friendly! I like the elevators, they are numerous, spacious, and fast - something you will appreciate when need to leave quickly.

Five Yelp Stars for the Foot and Ankle Service at Massachusetts General West, Massachusetts General…read moreHospital, Dr. John Kwon, and his physician assistant, Patrick Maguire. Dr. John Kwon, MD (MD!, not DPM), is an expert, Fellowship trained Foot and Ankle orthopedic surgeon, who exudes expert, state of the art, compassionate care. Dr. Kwon surgically repaired a complex foot condition of mine, and, here I am, six months post-op, and I so regret not having my foot condition repaired, years prior, by Dr. Kwon. I am grateful to an MGH orthopedic surgeon for referring me to Dr. Kwon. Dr. Kwon's Care Team includes a Physician Assistant by the name of Patrick Maguire, who is a superb clinician, as well. Dr. Kwon and Patrick Maguire function as a very cohesive team, and collaborate closely. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Kwon updated Patrick Maguire about what he discovered of my condition, in the operating room, while Patrick was seeing patients in the Foot and Ankle clinic. I saw Patrick several hours, later, as we were leaving Day Surgery, and Patrick had already heard about my surgery from Dr. Kwon, even though Dr. Kwon, and Patrick, were in two different places. Dr. Kwon's support team, in the office, two, very caring ladies, are superb; they are as caring, as they are professional, and efficient. I am confident that I could not have found a better foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon, than Dr. Kwon, and Dr. Kwon's team, and the Day Surgery Team (including nursing and anesthesia) are absolutely superb.

Where do I begin? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE having my NEWBORN Baby!!! It was my first one and was…read morehorrible. My OB that went through at Boston OB was awful too. She didn't deliver my son, she didn't check on me after I had him until the day we got to leave the hospital! She did not detect that I was a high risk pregnancy(even though I told her ALL of my symptoms) and then I find out the hard way that I have preeclampsia (which can be detected in my urine) which leads to all sorts of complications and possible very serious birth defects. Then, when I get to the hospital having insane contractions, I have all these "students" Doogie Howser wannabe doctors (that I don't remember giving the okay to being there) and they kept asking me the same questions over and over again!!! My name, address, if I had a history of this and that over and over again while I was in excruciating pain and could barely talk!!! The nurse that help deliver my son was awesome and some of the others but the nurse I had to deal with the most was the worst! She was very rude and scolded me about how I was breastfeeding and not doing it right!!! Well maybe she should do her job right? Like, maybe when you act on top of the world and you're checking my sons and I vitals 50 times a day, you might've noticed while he was sleeping he had low oxygen levels?!?! Maybe then when I made plans to go home after 4 days of being there with her stank ass...I would've been able to take my son home! Because she wasn't doing her job(in my opinion) we don't know he had to be put into the baby NICU!!!!!!! (On our take home day) My son is big and healthy NOW but has to have an eye surgery (maybe caused by the preeclampsia) but there is no proof. My symptoms were so bad I could barely stand up or walk during pregnancy and was forced to have a c-section(because he was breech) then my c-section scar felt Infected so I called the hospital and told them how sore and infected it looked and they had me send pics instead of come in! They acted like it was all normal until it started oozing!!! Yea, pretty gross I know. Hurt like crazy took forever to heal and I couldn't even wear pants without pain. Besides my handsome, perfect, smart and adorable son being born...was hands down the worst experience of my life!!! Should've stayed at South Shore hospital like everybody told me and stayed with my original OB at crown colony in Quincy! For, a big thing like child birth...you sort of want doctors that know what they're doing. Or better yet...even show up?! ‍‍‍

I have used this place occasionally to get a Covid test over the last couple years. My review will be primarily on Covid testing there since that's all I've done If you are planning on coming here for a Covid test READ the website! More than once have I overheard an unhappy person finding out that they have to pay $150 for their test at the counter. If their website wasn't clear before, there are now at least three different places throughout the process of making an appointment online that indicate whether or not your test will be covered. I've shown up both with and without an appointment. If you don't have an appointment, wait time kind of depends on time of day and time of year(around the holidays is busier). Each time I've visited I felt the visit went smooth and my visit was as pleasant as getting swabbed could be.

I called them to ask about this since this seems wildly high and did not get anywhere. I asked if they offered cash pricing instead of insurance and was told yes you have the right to choose to do that. However, they refused to tell me anything about that pricing at all. I get that this visit was already set through insurance, but I should have a right to that information going forward. Definitely feel like I got screwed. Just use telehealth if you can.
