Five Yelp Stars for the Foot and Ankle Service at Massachusetts General West, Massachusetts General…read moreHospital, Dr. John Kwon, and his physician assistant, Patrick Maguire. Dr. John Kwon, MD (MD!, not DPM), is an expert, Fellowship trained Foot and Ankle orthopedic surgeon, who exudes expert, state of the art, compassionate care. Dr. Kwon surgically repaired a complex foot condition of mine, and, here I am, six months post-op, and I so regret not having my foot condition repaired, years prior, by Dr. Kwon. I am grateful to an MGH orthopedic surgeon for referring me to Dr. Kwon. Dr. Kwon's Care Team includes a Physician Assistant by the name of Patrick Maguire, who is a superb clinician, as well. Dr. Kwon and Patrick Maguire function as a very cohesive team, and collaborate closely. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Kwon updated Patrick Maguire about what he discovered of my condition, in the operating room, while Patrick was seeing patients in the Foot and Ankle clinic. I saw Patrick several hours, later, as we were leaving Day Surgery, and Patrick had already heard about my surgery from Dr. Kwon, even though Dr. Kwon, and Patrick, were in two different places. Dr. Kwon's support team, in the office, two, very caring ladies, are superb; they are as caring, as they are professional, and efficient. I am confident that I could not have found a better foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon, than Dr. Kwon, and Dr. Kwon's team, and the Day Surgery Team (including nursing and anesthesia) are absolutely superb.

The lab can get backed up but wait has never been terrible. And the lobby where you wait to be called is a 2-story atrium filled with light & comfortable seating. I wish they did more here so I'd never have to go into the main MGB campus in Boston.

Where do I begin? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE having my NEWBORN Baby!!! It was my first one and was…read morehorrible. My OB that went through at Boston OB was awful too. She didn't deliver my son, she didn't check on me after I had him until the day we got to leave the hospital! She did not detect that I was a high risk pregnancy(even though I told her ALL of my symptoms) and then I find out the hard way that I have preeclampsia (which can be detected in my urine) which leads to all sorts of complications and possible very serious birth defects. Then, when I get to the hospital having insane contractions, I have all these "students" Doogie Howser wannabe doctors (that I don't remember giving the okay to being there) and they kept asking me the same questions over and over again!!! My name, address, if I had a history of this and that over and over again while I was in excruciating pain and could barely talk!!! The nurse that help deliver my son was awesome and some of the others but the nurse I had to deal with the most was the worst! She was very rude and scolded me about how I was breastfeeding and not doing it right!!! Well maybe she should do her job right? Like, maybe when you act on top of the world and you're checking my sons and I vitals 50 times a day, you might've noticed while he was sleeping he had low oxygen levels?!?! Maybe then when I made plans to go home after 4 days of being there with her stank ass...I would've been able to take my son home! Because she wasn't doing her job(in my opinion) we don't know he had to be put into the baby NICU!!!!!!! (On our take home day) My son is big and healthy NOW but has to have an eye surgery (maybe caused by the preeclampsia) but there is no proof. My symptoms were so bad I could barely stand up or walk during pregnancy and was forced to have a c-section(because he was breech) then my c-section scar felt Infected so I called the hospital and told them how sore and infected it looked and they had me send pics instead of come in! They acted like it was all normal until it started oozing!!! Yea, pretty gross I know. Hurt like crazy took forever to heal and I couldn't even wear pants without pain. Besides my handsome, perfect, smart and adorable son being born...was hands down the worst experience of my life!!! Should've stayed at South Shore hospital like everybody told me and stayed with my original OB at crown colony in Quincy! For, a big thing like child birth...you sort of want doctors that know what they're doing. Or better yet...even show up?! ‍‍‍
