I came here for a strep test. I made an appointment online ahead of time to avoid waiting, which was great. The staff were all kind! The provider was efficient and friendly. I felt comfortable talking with her and appreciated how fast the whole experience was. It was clean and well kept as well. There is ample parking as it has a parking lot. I would definitely recommend visiting here when you need an urgent care and making an appointment online. I will be back! read more

Excellent care by Dr brodke for arthritis. Expert and caring. All of the staff very friendly and engaged, in particular the medical assistant. There is a drawback, though. On website they list sprains but they have no x-ray machine. So to differentiate that from a broken bone doesn't happen. They sent me to a different AFC that actually has it. You can wait assuming that they have it or you can ask before you go in but who would do that? So otherwise excellent but that's the drawback. read more

My review will be primarily on Covid testing there since that's all I've done If you are planning on coming here for a Covid test READ the website! More than once have I overheard an unhappy person finding out that they have to pay $150 for their test at the counter. If their website wasn't clear before, there are now at least three different places throughout the process of making an appointment online that indicate whether or not your test will be covered. I've shown up both with and without an appointment. If you don't have an appointment, wait time kind of depends on time of day and time of year(around the holidays is busier). I walked in without an appointment and was very impressed the efficiency of this clinic. I filled out the paperwork on my phone and then waited only 10 minutes to be seen by a very attentive PA named Adam. I had a deep cough and was worried about bronchitis. He ordered a Covid+flu test and brought the negative results in very promptly. He then made excellent suggestions for treatment, both verbally and via email. I'm generally a pretty chill guy. I've given one Yelp review ever and it was a positive one. Just returned from an appointment at AFC in Waltham where I needed a blood test. Halfway back to work, I realize my arm is pouring blood. It's all over my pants, my car seat, it's running down my arm. I've had dozens and dozens of blood tests in my life and have never had this happen. I go back and they put another bandage on it and tell me this happens a lot. No apologies. No "Hey, sorry your clothes and car are covered in blood." I'm glad I don't wear nice clothes. But I'm not sure how to get blood stains out of car upholstery...or how expensive it'll be. They offered me hydrogen peroxide for the stains, but when I asked if this might bleach the material -- because that's what hydrogen peroxide does -- they looked at me like I had two heads. First time I've ever left a medical appointment in far worse condition than when I showed up. read more

Quite literally the worst urgent care I've been to PA Serena is rude condescending and completely horrible at her job. She doesn't listen to a word you say doesn't prescribe you anything that would be helpful to your condition and just frankly wants you to be miserable and come back when you're feeling worse for medication ten days later. I went to AFC Natick as quickly as I could but I still only got there seven minutes before they closed at 5pm. I would give a zero if I could! Don't waste your time if you're planning to come here for an immigration physical exam. They set the appointment then send you forms to complete, and some lady has to call you after BUT if you haven't spoken to her before the appointment and you come they won't let you in, even if a night before you got an appointment confirmation message. Worst and unnecessary complications were added to such a simple process. Better call to another location, who can get your information over the phone without forms that you have to complete and arrange the call with a lady and give a $200 down deposit over this phone call. And if you haven't spoken to her she won't call you or at least send an email, before you come and realize you are not on the list, saying that your appointment is canceled because of it and you have to go over the same process again. DO not waist your time over there, there are more professional people around. read more

It would of been a great experience if it wasn't for the waitI am assuming it is because AFC Urgent Care has the same failures as most urgent cares. Understaffing. Based off the website, there is only one doctor. Which actually makes a ton of sense based off the wait. The doctor, Dr. Kristina Orio, I ended up seeing was extremely pleasant and personable. She didn't hesitate on the diagnosis and was knowledgeable. When I needed to see a specialist, not only did they call the office for me but they set up an appointment. There was only one nurse doing the check ins and the insurance verifications. The other nurse was doing the initial intake and a bunch of other stuff. So things moved extremely slowly. Urgent care is "first come, first serve" time of deal. So even if you get there early and decide to walk around, if you don't come back during a certain time, than your appointment is gone. The waiting room is nice and comes with two giant TV's on each side. The decor is minimal and modern. Everything was very clean. I would defiantly come back here, I would just chose to go during a different time. During the morning and early afternoon it was a complete mess. read more

I went there to do my rapid COVID-19 testing. Everything was quick enough. The only thing that I got disappointed with was the price. If you go there and your insurance does not cover this test, please check the price ahead and probably several times. I called them on Friday, they told me the price for the test, I double-checked and called them one more time to confirm the price. When I came in today, the price was on $79 higher. I had to come here to take a pre-employment drug test and I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean this place was. The young lady at the desk was quite nice as well. Good music playing while you wait and there's even free coffee and water available. My wait time was about 20 minutes which really isn't too bad. While I was waiting I looked around the room, and saw a monitor that list your name and waiting time. That's when I figured out you can actually register online prior to arriving so that your wait time is less. Once I was called in, the young lady who administered the drug test was very nice. This is my first and hopefully last time seeking care at this urgent center. I was referred to this location by the urgent care on Lexington Street in Waltham because they didn't have an X-ray tech in duty. That is a whole different story. I drove to the 1030 Main Street location on Sunday because my daughter hurt her arm on Saturday. I asked if they had an X-ray tech. The woman who was checking us in was the X-ray tech. Good I thought. Fill out forms and return when finished. I asked why is my credit card info need if I gave insurances? And why will it be charged in 15 days? EOBs usually take 30 days from the dos to be received. Some nonsense story she gave me so I left it blank. I asked for documentation or summary for my daughter to take to school on Monday. I was told they can't give anything until a final diagnosis is given. So no proof or after summary for this visit? I have nothing to give her school. I go to my provider urgent care and get much better service. When u work in the billing industry and/or medical field and get half ass service it really lets u down. I get a call from Kim that there is no fracture. I was given verbal instructions over the phone. Still don't have any documentation from this place. So now I have to start asking questions about their procedures and show what I do for a living. If u don't have to go, please don't!!!! read more

I'm new to Massachusetts and have been living abroad for several years, so I was really nervous for my first medical venture back in the U.S. To my immense relief, everyone I spoke with leading up to my consultation was exceedingly helpful and kind, even helped me figure out my recently issued insurance ID number! I'm very grateful for their kindness, which is why this review is 5 stars. I felt pretty good and secure about my experience, up until my conversation with my provider. I'm sure they've had a hard day. My appointment was at 4:15, I can't imagine the day they've had in the many hours and individuals leading up to me. I can't imagine the /year/ they've had! I know that whatever their issue was when they walked through the door, it wasn't with me. But it felt personal. To be fair to my provider, from a professional medical standpoint, they were absolutely right to refuse the medication I was hoping to be prescribed. I can't take issue with that. I did, however, feel that their attitude towards me, my pain and discomfort and my long history of experience with this recurring illness, was cold and dismissive. I tried to gently advocate for myself and my knowledge of my body and symptoms, taking care not to undermine my provider's position or expertise, and I was met with totally valid resistance that felt inexplicably curt and hostile. I think there was probably a way to navigate that uncomfortable conversation that didn't totally dismiss my feelings and experience, or at least treated them with some patience and care. It's never easy to tell someone something they don't want to hear (and I didn't want to hear that I would not be receiving treatment and therefore would not be feeling better anytime soon), but I wasn't rude. I didn't deserve that. Throughout our conversation, which ended with me in tears, I was met with a lack of empathy that really shocked me. When my provider decided our conversation was over, they left the room, and I burst into tears. I was in shock and couldn't leave the exam room. I called my mom in California, who talked me out of a full-blown panic attack. I called my boss to tell her what had happened, and asked her what I should do. I'm a nursery school teacher, so I work with toddlers, and can't risk exposing them by going into work untreated and possibly contagious. My provider never made it that far in our conversation. I cried the whole way home, now feeling not only ill, but totally demoralized and dehumanized. What began as a really positive experience ended really poorly, and I guess I would just advise anyone feeling sick and vulnerable to be prepared. It's not about "bedside manner", it's about being decent, and treating people with humility and humanity. To my provider, I hope you have a better day tomorrow, and that you are treated with all the patience and kindness you deserve. My husband and I both went to AFC Waltham for COVID19 testing. Our appointments were back-to-back and once we were seen, the testing was efficient and smooth. Initially, a PA did a quick physical exam and asked a couple of questions. A couple of minutes later, the tech came out to take the samples for COVID testing. The nasal swab wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't terrible either. That being said, the staff made us feel comfortable and we didn't have to leave our car. We ended up being seen ~40 minutes after our original appointment times, but the staff was hustling the entire time we were waiting. Everybody and their brother is in need of COVID testing at the moment, so I can't really blame them for too much for being late. read more

Visited Urgent Care drive through for supposedly a free Covid-19 testing. After a lengthy CDC required phone screening the previous day, I was asked to go to an empty mall parking lot...waited almost 3 hrs to be tested. Results came back negative, and then the bills arrived. Urgent Care billed my Insurance (BCBS) for $80.00, and then personally billed me $70.00. Their lab, Quest Diagnostics, billed my Insurance and also sent me a bill. What a horrible money making scheme! I went to be tested to protect those around me. I don't understand how a free test could result in so many bills. These guys don't really care about you. It's all about making money from a very tragic event. read more

So I came to this urgent care with an ear infection figuring it would be quick and hopefully painless to get this issue fixed. It took over 3 hours but I did see a Dr and got prescribed drops for my swimmers ear as it was described to me. Also got ear flushed as well. I felt much better after leaving, until I put the drops in my ear at 3:00 am that night and had some kind of really bad reaction. I was then up all night with an even worst ear infection now. So painful I made an appoinement for the next day. dr was very nice I was out pretty quick and then got a message from My pharmacy that the antibiotic I was prescribed is back ordered throughout the area pharmacy's. They messaged my Dr to please send something else so I could start the antibiotics. A couple hours later after hearing nothing, I called the urgent care and told the receptionist the story and told her to have the dr send something differnt for antibiotics cause it's back ordered. I called again and did the same thing and was told she is busy in the room with a patient and she would send it. Called 10 more times cause my wife has my car and couldn't get down there myself in person . The stopped answering the phone for like 7 hours until Finally at 7:30pm they answered and tell me nobody left the message and they can't send a differnt antibiotic because the Dr is home for the night. My ear is much worse and clearly nobody cared. Felt as if I was annoying the staff when I called. I would never bother going here if U want to be treated well. Went another time for an X-ray for broken arm. PA said it wasn't broken. Came back in and said someone else thought it was. radiologist said it wasn't. My orthopedist said that it was. Beth- the PAC- was discriminatory. I have medical conditions that require certain medications. She refused to prescribe me cough syrup with codeine. She used my diagnoses against me when she rattled off the medications that were "concerning" to her. I only take some of these medications as needEd and some bc of my other diagnosis. I have even signed a waiver with the state about the codeine. She painted me and everyone with the same brush. If she cared enough to look at my profile to see the frequency my medications have been prescribed- regularly- she would have been informed and could make a decision other than what she is told to do by others. She truly discriminated against me based on other medications I regularly take- which are medically necessary. My company uses them for company policy compliance, (drug tests, injuries, DOT physicals etc). It was my turn to complete one of the policies and I have to say that this location is one of the worst ones I've been too. One of the NPs had an attitude towards me, didn't understand what the issue was even when I explained it to her multiple times,I never saw the Dr on first visit, there is no communication between doctors, there is no consistency in procedure, paperwork that was supposedly scanned into the system shows up missing. I spent more time on today's visit giving info and paperwork I had previously given them.They are not up to date on forms from insurance companies. The only reason I gave them a 2 star is because the actual staff and Dr I dealt with today had a brain, ask questions if they didn't know something, took the time to understand what was going on, were polite and friendly. If I can give this place a zero rating I would. This is the worst urgent care I've been to. We came here with my friend to get a drug test conducted by Quest Diagnostic. First we were lost for awhile trying to find it since it does not even have Quest Diagnostic listed anywhere . We only found it when we came in to ask. Once there , my friend checked in the front . She was told to just have a sit and that she's all set. We all sat for almost an hour waiting. She then went to the front to ask for her status. The girl that works in front said she needs to fill out a form and once filled she will be placed in the back of the line again. This is so not right. First of, they messed up and did not give us the form , then to have us place at the end of the line again even though we were here before everyone else and been waiting for an hour. My friend who came and waited for an hr to get her drug test conducted , held her pee that she almost peed on herself bc of their screwed up. This is such bad customer service. there's so many urgent care out there , people really don't need to deal with this bullshit. read more

I left AFC this morning feeling heard and taken care of. I went to the ER two days prior with uti symptoms and left without any help. I woke up this morning in pain and miserable. I went to AFC immediately and was in amazing hand. The nurse was very kind and the doctor took the time to sit and talk with me. I was blown away and already feeling some relief from the medicine she prescribed me. We're so lucky to have this facility in our neighborhood and I've only had positive experiences here. These people deliver better service than my actual doctor's office. Super friendly and responsive. The PA who saw me was refreshingly kind, and then they even followed up with me a few days later to 'check in' and see how I was doing. I'm used to stalking my doctor's office for any kind of follow-up after visits. Lastly, during the check-in, the PA actually listened to my updates/concerns, and updated my treatment/prescription right away for me... Once again, another super sweet lady. I was just telling my coworkers how great AFC is, and she said, "yeah, wow, that's kind of unheard of for Urgent Care! I'm impressed!" Anyway, just saying thank you and 10/10 recommend. read more

I suppose you could say I have had the unfortunately luck to have to visit AFC urgent care a few times over the past few years. A few years back they diagnosed me with pneumonia, I've gone in for a few other things.... but today I went in because I fell down my stairs this morning and injured my knee, among other things. First and foremost the convenience level of this place far surpasses any doctors office I have ever been to. They don't waste your time here. All the staff has always been very professional, courteous, educated and kind. The facility is very clean and modern, no dingy oddly patterned carpet there. Today they were able to get me in for an exam and x-rays, wrote me a prescription and sent me on my way with a knee brace all in probably a half hour. This is far better than sitting in the waiting room for over a half hour to see my normal doctor, or even worse go to the ER. They even have complimentary water and coffee in the waiting area. There has only been one time that I have gone there and had to wait more than maybe ten minutes though, so I have never taken advantage of the refreshments, but you can tell it's clean and well stocked. You can even check the wait time online!! I think that's an awesome service and is very convenient. I highly recommend this place if you're not feeling well, or if you have an injury. read more

I was completely blown away by this place and the level of service I received. I pulled something in my back and after it didn't resolve itself after a few days I went in on a Sunday morning. I was greeted right away and after providing some information I helped myself to the free coffee in the very clean and modern waiting room. A few minutes later a nurse brought me into a very clean and modern exam room checked my vitals and I saw the doctor a couple minutes later. In the meantime I could watch the flatscreen TV that was in the room. Sweet! The doc did his thing and I ended up peeing in a cup to rule out any major issues like kidney damage or abdominal stuff. Doc told me what to do for medication and what not, and if things don't get better in a particular amount of time, then I should go see my primary care or a specialist. They gave me everything in writing so I wouldn't forget, and also gave me a list of specialists if I wanted to go directly to one of those. It all happened pretty quickly and efficiently, and I was out of there in less than 30 minutes. Everyone was so friendly. I was probably the only one there at the time, so who knows that it's like when it's busy, but I know that when they're not busy they will get you in and out quickly. Then I get a call two days later just to see how I'm doing, make sure everything is okay, and if I have any questions. What? Who does this? This is awesome. These people rock. Just know that this is an urgent care center. It isn't an emergency room. It's a lot easier than making an appointment with your primary care doctor, who probably can't see you until 2 weeks from now. Doctors Express will see you today! If you have a more serious injury (okay, I'm talking about the person who gave them a 1 star review), then go to a hospital (which is what this place told them to do). But if you have something that isn't too serious (their website lists a lot of the things symptoms they will look at), but you want to get checked out, then this is your place! read more
