I brought it in with a few small fresh…read morestains and got it back with the original stains still there, plus new large oily stains from their "cleaning attempts." On top of that, there were obvious new stitches added that hadn't been there before, and they didn't even remotely match the fabric or color of the knit. I also brought in a trench coat, which came back with all the same stains untouched -- honestly, for the best considering what happened to the dress. When I returned to show them the damage, there was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to offer compensation. I had to request a refund myself. The employee handed it to me and simply walked away without even acknowledging the inconvenience. This place used to be excellent before the ownership change. Now it's an absolute mess. Please do not trust them with valuable clothing, especially anything sentimental like a wedding dress.

Sadly just a few months before her wedding it was cancelled. My daughter was flying in for a scheduled fitting with Dao and on top of finishing her fitting properly with no rush to pick up her dress when completed, Dao gave her a discount as well as bestowing my daughter lovely, kind words of wisdom and encouragement and told her that she was meant for someone better and this cancellation was just the way to make room for it to happen . As a mom we don't expect anyone else to love and care for our kids like we do. This was such an unexpected blessing to a very difficult time. Dao is extraordinary tailor and human. My friend and I both had our wedding dresses tailored with Dao (without knowing the other was…read morecoming here too!). In general, there will be 3 appointments spaced out over a couple months. Surprisingly, the appointments are not very long. The first appointment, I wore the dress and Dao immediately told me a list of things she needed to fix (things that I am clueless about so I cannot verify if true or not) and provides a quote/invoice. The second appointment is a double check. The final appointment was my longest one as I asked her to make a small tweak, which she did on the spot. I did notice that the dress felt more supportive and structured on the last visit due to the work she did (adding boning etc). She usually has one other associate working in the shop and together, they are extremely good at hyping you up as you try on the dress. Cost wise, my friend and I both spent about $1K each on our dresses. In summary, Dao is very confident in her skills and vision and it is clear she has a lot of experience in wedding dresses as her entire shop is lined with wedding dresses. PS. My friend looked STUNNING on her wedding day - the dress fit like a glove and was so flattering. She told me you can take the dress back after your appointments if you need more work. PPS. The owner, Lida, said she'd follow up and give me a call to see what happened but never did. I paid for the sweater they lost and don't feel like getting into an extended back and forth with them but I wouldn't recommend them if you want to get all your clothes back. The pieces that came back cleaned also didn't look like they had been cleaned thoroughly. One of them was a pair of pants that was covered with lint and loose threads. The other was a winter puffer coat that had bits of fuzz still stuck to the velcro parts.

Don't go here…read more Seamstress charges literally 3 times everyone else. And it's "Cash Only"...enough said. End product reflects mediocre, lazy workmanship. The item fit worse after tailoring because she didn't bother with the more challenging parts of the alteration. She just took in the sides without doing any work to refit the chest and straps. This made the top baggy...it looked worse that it did pre-alteration because the proportions were off. Unfriendly environment. She makes it clear that feedback is unappreciated and unwelcome.

When we picked the pants up a few days later, a full polyester liner had been sewn into the pants.... Never did we request this, nor were we consulted if this is something we wanted done. I brought the pants back and requested the liner be removed and was told that they were not able to due to how the polyester liner was sewn in. Now a perfect pair of linen pants ruined and we had to buy a complete new pair of pants. Oh and not to mention that we were also charged for the unwanted polyester liner. 3 stars because although very disappointed in this situation, the work done was done well.
