Nexcess is literally a 10-star company. I've been in IT for over 20 years now and they have superior support when compared to the other 50-75 tech companies I've worked with during my career. I use Nexcess for all of my hosting including WordPress and Magento e-commerce. Magento is an incredibly powerful, robust, but complex e-commerce platform. It requires reliable and fast hosting to work properly. But due to its complexity, it can be very difficult for many companies to use effectively. Nexcess greatly eases the difficulty of running Magento because their support teams are absolutely second to none. The technicians here have a depth and breadth of knowledge that far surpasses virtually any other enterprise host or tech company I've interacted with. I say this coming from having personally been involved in over 100 different e-commerce projects and dozens of Magento 1 & 2 installations. Very recently I worked with Robin Rosson at Nexcess to to resolve a complicated series of DNS and email delivery issues to help one of my client's stores get back online. The request was marked Urgent and I had a response from a high-level engineer within about 30 minutes. The issue was resolved in about two hours. To compare, any other company would have take 24-48 hours and probably would NOT have found the solution to this issue. Robin helped patch in a hot-fix for Magento 2, adjust DNS PTR, SPF, and DKIM records, and helped us get back up rapidly. It is incredibly rare to find people who understand infrastructure to this degree and get a response from them this rapidly. As for the rest of Nexcess: they are affordable, have a fantastic back-office account management portal, vast knowledge-base, and the hosting administration panel always works. The sites are hosted on top-tier hardware and as long as your site is configured properly, it will load very quickly which improves your SEO. I don't understand any of these other reviews. Personally I think they're bogus and probably written by competitors. To summarize if you're going to host Magento, WordPress, or WooCommerce, do yourself a favor and host on Nexcess. Don't try and save a couple of dollars a month, because when that first major problem happens, you'll be glad to be backed up by their team. Well done Robin and thanks again. read more

My company currently runs a managed dedicated server at Nexcess using InterWorx. This company has grown by leaps in that time. They've had growing pains, but comparing "how the sausage is made" between Nexcess and others, I'm very happy with our choice. Nexcess is one of few providers that genuinely optimize the server environment to your advantage. Absolutely the worst systems, service and support. I have 50+ websites hosted from Wordpress to Magento. The service has cost me hundreds of man hours and has almost lost me several large customers. RUN, don't look back. Service tickets take hours and now I am starting to see days. Ghost in the machine. Customer service is the worst. The only thing that made it better was addressing it with them. We did, it improved. So why the 1 star? The irresponsible billing department. We were originally on an annual plan. (Clearly, they prey on those not tech savvy but that's a separate issue.) on the day of our billing cycle end, we changed to a more much lower cost and monthly plan. We verified multiple times the cost and the billing as monthly, in writing. Then we get an invoice that they billed us for another year on the old plan. We immediately contacted them. And then, they wrote they would not be giving us a refund. They would credit our account. When we informed them this was unacceptable, we received a flippant email from Regan. Then we called and spoke to Jackie. She's supposedly a manager. Well, it's no wonder that Regan feels it's appropriate to send out emails without doing any research into the matters involved. When your manager is unprofessional, you'll be unprofessional and ill equipped to do your job. And, according to Jackie, research on the matter of a ticketed history, is not part of Regan's job. So there it is: when leadership is a failure, offers excuses, and behaves unprofessionally while trying to argue with the client, what else but this can you expect from their subordinates? Watch your billing! Or, better still, don't use this company. read more

Our company recently launched a Magento 2.0 site using Nexcess SIP 300 Plan in November. Everything went smoothly. The past host we used was U.S. based but switched to offshore support which turned into a real issue. I have piece of mind that Nexcess is totally U.S. based, a Magento specialist, very professional, and reasonably priced. I also liked that one of their server centers and support team was where our company was located--in the Midwest. Horrible hosting service. Avoid like the plague. Support tickets would take upwards of 4 days for a response. Numerous times I waited on hold for over 50 minutes for a phone call to be answered. Support does not assist with anything and gets tripped up by basic requests and issues that our new host takes less than 5 seconds to know what the problem is. If you want to continue your web host search to last longer, I recommend you signup with Nexcess, then wait till you have the experience I had and then move again less than 90 days later. read more

Nexcess support has been getting worse and worse. But the last straw was when I get a message at midnight 'sorry we deleted your site, how would you like to proceed?' so then I'm up late on the phone with them losing sleep and then two hours later at 2am I get the message 'oops, we found the files'. Unbelievable. I have several websites hosted with Nexcess. And recently there are problems with their systems and almost every support request. At this point I'm having up to three Nexcess problems in one day. A few examples off the top of my head 1. Called them on the phone and asked them to restore a backup. They just didn't do it didn't make a support ticket, nothing. 2. Ftp times out for no reason on one website and they don't know why (still not fixed) 3. Passwords suddenly stop working for no apparent reason. 4 mod security rules block simple actions like uploading a theme in Wordpress (even after I've whitelisted my ip address). I could go on. Nexcess problems have cost me a lot of time and money. It's hard to get work done as a web designer when you're constantly interrupted with problems from your web host. I'm in the process of moving all my sites to a dedicated server on a different host and they are making that difficult as well. They won't provide root access to the migration team at my new host. That's understandable I guess but then their crazy mod security rules are blocking the migration team even when they have the correct passwords! Several of my clients' projects are behind schedule now and this has taken an emotional toll as well. Never again. read more
