They are genetic tests to match parents up better. Evidently even though everyone stresses eye exam in dogs. They can't see until happens in parents. Also even though the parents are still normal it can be on chromosomes and the parents are never affected. The eye exam won't tell about offspring. I actually don't understand why breeders stress ich in USA so much. That is dandruff. No one talks about the "pras" on forums. It is the genetic testing associated with eye issues and helps inform breeders on what dogs are safe to breed together and which to not pair to ensure offspring will come out ok." I barely made it through high school Biology but if a dog is PRA normal even though "it can be on chromosomes" that suggests to me that the dog is a carrier. And maybe that's how my dog ended up with the condition. The bottom line is that my dog will no longer retrieve a ball and walk off leash and Promise Land's response to my heartbreak is callous and full of incoherent disclaimers. They never reached out. Since then, I have contacted them at least monthly through text and called at least monthly and never get a response. The last time I called and texted, on 4 November, I was assured they would be sending me a check through the mail. This has never arrived. It should not take 5 months to reschedule an appointment or send me a refund. I can't speak to how they are as trainers since I never had the opportunity to actually meet them, but how they have treated me in the past 5 months does not bode well for their professionalism.

Charlie was neutered and up for adoption at 8 weeks old. The first time he was able to be adopted, we fell in love. Fast forward to 4 months old, we started to see a significant change in Charlie's behavior for the worse. What used to be what we thought was puppy play, quickly turned into to aggression and stubbornness. Examples include: "NO" not working, aggressive barking, jumping on anyone and everyone, ignoring not working, kenneling just aided in his disobedience, trying to smell everything on walks, terrified of other dogs. One thing Charlie didn't struggle with was his love for people. After talking to multiple different people and reading multiple different things, Charlie was headed down a dark road with his rebellion. Thank goodness we decided to try a Dog Trainer! We were recommended American K9 and are so thankful we were. Charlie is 110% a better dog! In the chance he does something he isn't supposed too, we either say "NO" and he stops or we can choose to put him in timeout, which also works! Without yelling, or getting aggravated. We can also take him on a walk and only hold the leash with 2 fingers, because he does not pull. Charlie had horrible anxiety due to being the "runt" of the pack. Krys went above and beyond helping him with that & being patient. Overall EXTREMELY Satisfied!!!! Very Personal! If you are thinking about a dog trainer I say Krys is the one!! Highly recommend!

They have since blocked their FB Messenger, deleted this from their FB page, all while not responding to my emails to rectify the situation. "UPDATE : I was the adopter mentioned above, placing an application for this specific kitty since she looked so much like my beloved Tortie that had passed almost 4 months ago, while this cat was not yet listed on their website and still in quarantine. Otherwise I was not yet planning on adopting just yet, but when I did I had intended on an older cat to provide a happy remainder of their life, as well as a companion kitten for enrichment. I expressed all of this to the Adoption Coordinator. After being told the Bengal mix would only be adopted out to someone who was knowledgeable about the breed, I did hours of research and found that my Tortie had prepared me well, as she also had similar characteristics and wanted a raw meat diet primarily. I emailed them each week day inquiring about the Bengals' well-being in the facility and that I would dash out to meet her, and together, choose a fur-buddy for her once I got the word from them. Yesterday I received an email (6days later!!!) that my application had not yet been processed, that the Bengal had been adopted out to a random person who already had an approved application (who, mind you, was clearly already planning on adopting and would have chosen another kitty), and that Talbot still had many other cat to choose from if I still wanted my application processed! What a tragedy! Not only was I going to adopt 2, learning of the exotic breed I was going to make a healthy donation. So Talbot was only able to, in this instance, adopt out 1 rather than 3 cats. Absolute ineptitude and irresponsibility, I am livid!" I do not recommend this organization to any of you.

PAW seems to really care about the dogs in their care, they have many volunteers who make sure that each dog has its needs met. They do seem very selective in their applicants, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on who you ask, but worth mentioning for what it is. I recommend adopting a dog from them if you meet their criteria for that dog, you can adopt knowing the dog was well cared for, and donate knowing your money is going to an organization that gives its all for said dogs.

We use them on an as-needed basis, usually when we go out of town for holidays (cat-sitting) or when just one of us is gone (for dog walking). We have not used the overnight dog-sitting service, but I'm sure it's great. They are full-service -- administering meds, scooping the litterbox, checking the mail, watering plants...very helpful for the longer trips out of town. Even though it is a small business (and we are sometimes last-minute with our requests), we get responses quickly, and Jennifer has never not been able to take care of our animals (even when we had particularly difficult situations, like medical issues with the cats or a dog that could not handle strangers). Every interaction I've had with Jennifer has been pleasant and professional. She loves animals, animals love her, and she is infinitely patient and accommodating. I think they are fairly limited to the immediate Laurel area, though you can can check if you live outside of town.
