First time using Next Door and Window. We had them install a door at the side entrance of our house. These guys are real professionals. Our salesman, Tom Hassmer, is very knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions about choosing the right door. From the sales experience through installation, everything went perfectly. There was constant follow-up after we signed the contract. The door was actually delivered and installed ahead of schedule. The installation looks beautiful. Justin sent out another painter who not only fixed the myriad issues but did such a wonderful job that the windows now look stunning. A very bad experience start to finish. It took a long time to get an estimate, they forgot to measure for the back doors when they came out, they didn't call to schedule installation delaying the job, the salesman ordered the wrong handle for the back door which cannot be replaced with what we picked out. That said, the installers were great. I will not use Next when I need to replace all of my windows read more

We had two of our entry doors--with storms--replaced by Next Door & Window recently. Other than a delay caused by the door manufacturer, I am very satisfied with my experience with Next. The quoting process was very professional and the pricing was very competitive compared to other quotations I obtained. The install process and the quality of the work was outstanding. I have used Home Depot in the past but the quality of the work does not compare to the installers at Next. And just for the record, Home Depot was only about a $500 cheaper than Next. read more

We had a great salesman but the service ends there. My salesman was out sick and no one would pick up and help. I talked to several different perople and when soemone did call back it was always a day or two later. I found pieces of siding and insulation in all my window wells. Still waiting for shutters 6 weeks later. Really poor customer service. read more

The service we received was excellent from beginning to end. Our installer took his time, despite bitter cold temps, and made sure everything was perfect. I even held a match up to check the seals while he was there and the flame did not waiver one bit. The only small disappointment was that we were not informed that the outside door handles we selected would result in two metal circles covering the interior side of the mounts. Those look a little odd and obviously we did not think of that ourselves when selecting the handles. read more

I just received my written estimate for a new front door. I picked a "higher end" door although it was not customized in any way, didn't have side windows or a storm door with it. The quote was $40,000!! Are you kidding me?? Obviously they don't want my business. read more

Extremely regretful for the purchase! I am not convinced that they know their product. They talk it up in sales but do not back it up in service. My new window was defective, I could actually see the light of day through the side of the window that connected with the wall. I was told they would they would send out their TOP specialist with 30 years of experience. He was supposed to go over all of the windows and the installation to make sure everything was right. This specialist felt everything was great! I could not believe it. I called back and a manager came out and stated that yes this was defective. He also noted my other concerns with the installation issues were right. It has been almost 6 weeks and no contact as to what is happening. They were going to order a new window but have not heard. I emailed a response to the owner JUSTIN BARTLEY who floods me with questionnaires about the windows and never responded to my contact. They have never made us feel like this is unusual or made us feel like they were sorry for the experience. We were planning on getting more window but would definitely not recommend them at all! I wish I could throw these windows out of the window! Please do your research before you buy with them. Such a disappointment and we still don't know where we stand. They push for a five start review but when you try to make it right without writing a review like this they do not seem concerned. It will be interesting to see if we hear from them now! I wanted to rate this a zero but it won't allow it so it's not even a one in my book. I wonder how the owner would feel if he was treated this way. read more

Once the order was placed, the communication of status was frequent and accurate. Fred "Freddie", the installer, was a master craftsman and a perfectionist. Well, all I can say is, the salesperson was nice. But it's been 8 weeks since I ordered my doors. Where are they? I wouldn't know. When you sign a contract with them, they said a project manager would call within 2 weeks. Never got a call and my husband and I had to put in numerous calls to get any information. Seems like there's no project managers at all - I've talked to two people that do everything to get you off the phone. I shouldn't be left feeling that way. "They are ordered" that's all I know. We have been more than understanding and courteous with them about it. The salesperson told me I would have them by Thanksgiving. I ordered them on Sept 23. It's now Nov 18 and there's still a gaping hole where my beautiful doors should be. Now I understand things happen, but I have received no communication from them whatsoever - all communication has been initiated by myself or my husband. I am completely irritated at this point. I hope that they have the best installers to make up for the lack of customer service - and I don't need a lot of customer service, I know it's gone down the tubes in our society - but a status of what's happening, maybe a proactive call - "Hey your doors are on delay we are sorry and we are doing everything we can..." something, anything, throw me a bone here. I am spending $8,000. Tell me there was a problem, and I will understand. I am not just ordering 1 door, I am giving you a nice amount of business I would think. I shouldn't be contemplating calling it off and losing my deposit money - but that's where my mind has gone the last couple of days. I have to have hope that when they get installed I will love them and it will be worth it in the end. Hope is all I have right now with Next Doors and Windows. read more

I was surprised to read the negative post from another "yelper". I wanted to share my good experience with Next. As a matter of fact I just emailed our sales guy from Next Door and Window tonight to thank him and their company for the wonderful customer service. Currently I am experiencing a more than frustrating customer service experience with a company that we bought appliances from and it truly made me appreciate the service we got from Next and I wanted to thank them and let them know what a pleasure it was dealing with them. To be honest I love to get a bargain and the best deal possible. I try to shop around especially on a major purchase such as the sliding door we were buying. This is so unlike us but we only went to Next Door and Window and didn't even compare prices anywhere else. The reason was, we went to their showroom and our sales guy was very helpful and did not pressure us at all to buy anything that day or try to talk us into any extras. They gave us a referral list of people in our area that have bought from them. The list was at least 3 pages long and I noticed several friends and neighbors on the list so I called them. Every one of them raved about them and their customer service and quality of doors or window they purchased from them. One friend mentioned that she knew they aren't the cheapest but they were thrilled with them and would highly recommend them. One of the main selling points with us is the fact that they have their own installers that work for them and they don't sub contract out. Which means...they know who is installing and how it's being done and if there is any problem they take care of it. Our door was special ordered and was in when they said it would be. The installers came when they said they would and were neat, professional and our new French sliding door was installed within a few hours. I'm the type of person who likes to get the word out when I have had an extremely good or bad customer service experience. We would definitely recommend Next. Getting a quote from these folks was frustrating! Weeks after our initial visit, I could not get a quote from these folks for a specific door. We went to the Burr Ridge showroom, picked out a door and glass that we wanted and a form was completed with all of the specifications. A gentleman came to the house and took measurements. It was suggested by one of these sales guys that we go to the Naperville showroom to look at another door. After we did that, we were informed that the Naperville salesman showed us the incorrect door and we had to make another trip to the Naperville to look at the correct door. When Next Door called me, I asked them for a quote for the original door that we chose and the salesperson told me that they needed to take measurements first. I informed here that a Next Door representative had been to the house and done this. She proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong and that they do not give quotes over the phone. A few minutes later, the gentleman who came to the house and took the measurements called me. I told him that I want a quote for the original door we selected, everything that was on the form that we completed and he said he had it in front of him. He just couldn't do it. He started asking me what configuration I wanted, size, etc. Again, I asked him to refer to the worksheet that had all of the specific information and he just could not give me a simple quote. So weeks have gone by and I have to start from square one with another vendor. These folks are very frustrating to deal with. read more
