We had gone to Pella for a quote on replacing a large living room window, with three casements and a transom. The Pella salesman came out promptly, spent over two hours with us, and gave us an incomplete quote verbally. He said he had to track down a couple of details on the trim, but that would only be about $100. Weeks went by and I finally got him to give me a written quote, which was $700 more than he said earlier. So we wrote off Pella and checked out Next Door. What a refreshing difference! We had a good conversation with the salesman in the showroom, and he came out the next day, measured everything and gave us a written quote and timeline right there. He assured us the price wouldn't change. He told us that Next has the ability to fabricate the trim needed, so he factored that cost in, and assured us about quality of workmanship and integrity of process. After we placed the order, Next kept us informed of progress. The team showed up to take out the old window and install the new one, and they were prompt, very professional, pleasant, good at their work and remarkably fast. It took a half day! And the house and grounds were clean. They had the old stuff hauled away and swept up the little dust they made. In our experience, Next Door and Window is the best! We highly recommend them. I first came upon Next Door & Window a few years ago, when I needed a new slider patio door. I was collecting quotes and asked them, and another vendor. The other vendor was very pushy when after doing his spiel at my home, I said all I wanted was a quote. The young man from Next Door, after hearing that I only wanted a quote, said ok, and wrote out everything for me. No pressure, no attempt to make me sign right then. Guess who I went with. These folks are great. Polite, helpful. Recently, I had to replace two windows and called Next Door. Again, very helpful, great explanations on the types of windows available. Josh was the contact for me at the Naperville store. Just one thing, maybe more details on the product descriptions - what it looks like, things like opening, closing, locking, screens. I made the mistake of reaching out to Next Door Windows for a quote over 10 years ago, and ever since then, I've been bombarded with relentless calls, voicemails, text messages, and emails. No matter how many times I told them I already replaced my windows with another company, they kept contacting me from different numbers. I even blocked one, and they'd just use another to reach out! I'm actually glad I went with a full-window replacement through a different company, which ended up costing the same as Next Door Windows' partial replacement offer. If I had gone with them, the wood rot that needed attention would've been missed, as their partial replacement method would have reused the old frame and shrunk the size of the window. With a full replacement, the issue was caught and properly addressed. I highly do not recommend Next Door Windows based on my experience! read more

Last summer I had the slider door replaced on the front of my home. Because I live in an over 55 community there are always a lot of rules and regulations to deal with, so I wanted to be sure I would work with a reputable company. I received 3 estimates for the work and while Next Door & Window wasn't the cheapest I felt it was the best bang for the buck. My sales rep, Joshua Derungs, easily explained the difference between their selection of doors. I went to the showroom in Burr Ridge to see the actual doors and decided on the one he recommended. The showroom in Burr Ridge is also a work area for preparing your order before it is installed. Installation was a snap and I'm very happy to have this new slider in my home! Our initial contact was great. He came over to our home and looked at our needs and gave us three good options. We had not considered sliding doors, but he pointed out their advantages in our home and we came around to seeing his wisdom and have no regrets whatsoever. We love the way they have opened our home to the rear deck and woods. Very professional installers. They were polite and competent and finished a huge job in a day and a half. There were some delays between ordering and installation, but our doors were of a nonstandard size and all the delay was at the factory they ordered from. Our new front door looks amazing!!!! The entire process working with Next was top notch. Gary came to our home for the quote and was very patient going through all our different options (door color, window size, window style, hardware). Next door and window replaced my 25 year old eye sore of a front and screen door. I had them replace my equally ugly and leaky windows in the spring of 2014. The project manager kept me informed throughout the process. The new screen and front door ( and windows ) gives the house curb appeal. No air leaks, no ripped screen , a lock that actually works etc. The installation took about 5 hours . The worker made little noise and cleaned up afterwards. The men arrived promptly in the morning before 8 A.M., put covers on our carpeting so they wouldn't get it dirty walking up and down our stairs, and finished the job as was estimated by 3 P.M. Windows took longer than I wished to get here, but the quality was excellent and the installers were well experienced and completed the project perfectly. It looked like the windows came with the house and not replacements as they fit so flush. The project manager kept in contact and sent me updates via salesforce and that was very helpful in assisting me on tracking the project status.
