The sales presentation from Jon was great and he answered all of our questions. Pricing ended up being the best out of (3) bids for the same ProVia product. The install crew was fantastic! We love our doors. The Door Store has a great selection of door designs and hardware. My two disappointments: In addition to a front door, we ordered a fire-safe house-to- garage door. Code is that the door must be on a spring hinge in our area and they did not install the door with a spring hinge. We only found this out because our neighbor is a locksmith and just so happened to notice. Door Store does enough work in DuPage County that they should know what different town codes are. They fixed it, but were we ever to sell our house, we would have had to pay someone to put the door to code. It is not the customer's responsibility to know hinge code! Also, and I know this sounds picky, but we have four diamond panes that run the length of our front door. The windows do not have uniform placement, so the glass "grade" etching is all over the place, rather than uniformly in one corner of the other. Not really what I was expecting for a $2k door. read more

The absolute best installation! I can't believe the difference compared to doors I had installed by other companies in previous homes. I truly am so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. I had a door and storm door installed in my 1929 bungalow. The gentleman took over 6 hours. There is no draft, it's completely airtight, and so secure. Been using the door store since 2003, The picture window is still great and have added more in 2020 and more again in 2023. The workers are friendly and clean up beautifully after themselves. That said, from start to finish, The Door Store earned an A++ in my book. Extremely competent, friendly, professional customer service from every interaction that I had with everyone I spoke to. And, our installer, Chris (sorry if you spell that with a K, Kris) was fantastic!! He did an amazing job on a difficult door installation, and he was meticulous in his work every step of the way. We couldn't be happier with the Door Store.The whole process was so professional and so easy.We went to the showroom ,where we were greeted almost immediately by Jonathan.The store was very busy and he did tell us he would be with us shortly.We looked at probably close to 35 doors and storm doors on display.We made up a list of questions and in a short amount of time probably 10 minutes or so Jonathan was with us .Guaranteed that the sales pros at the Door Store will spend all the time you need to help you with your selection.He answered every question,showed us unlimited options for main door and storm door.We ordered ,there was a wait time of several weeks ,but that is quite normal.Our doors were installed just recently and we are very pleased.Chris was our installer,about as professional and experienced as one can get.Oh yes ,very very important,no subcontractors are ever used.All installations of doors and windows are made by Door Store employees.I thought it was important because this way their standards are always met because it's the same highly experienced employees doing every install.The doors look beautiful and the installation is perfect down to every last detail. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the quality of the windows and installation is very good. They replaced 4 windows in our 1950's ranch a few weeks ago. We bought a combined screen/storm door from The Door Store in 1997. (Yes 6 years ago). We loved this sturdy door and the service that we got when it was installed. When we had a relatively minor problem with it in April 2013, I called them for a repair. They were prompt and on-schedule, friendly and adjusted the door properly at no charge! Stay as far away from this company as possible. Went in on Saturday (8/29/15) to get an updated estimate for a therma tru door that I obtained about 10 months earlier. The salesman gave us a story about how therma tru had this big price increase at the beginning of 2015 and the door would be quite a bit more expensive (about 50% more than my previous estimate), well I did some research on the internet and found therma tru implemented a 3.5% overall increase (not that hard to find this information online). I went to another dealer in Downers Grove and received a quote similar to the quote I received 10 months earlier from the Door Store. Needless to say we ordered the door from the reputable dealer and will stay as far away from this shady operation as possible. read more

We own an old 1920's English Tudor with arched doorways... a difficult task to find a company who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for custom made storm doors. The Door Store is the place to go! The door is beautiful. The installer was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We also had a new basement window installed and it turned out great as well Even with the cold weather, the installer completed the project in approximately four (4) hours.
