Replacement double hung windows from Supreme Windows and Exteriors
    Garrett K.

A+! We recently had 19 double hung windows replaced in a garden unit apartment in Edgewater and we are extremely pleased with Supreme Windows and Exteriors. The replaced windows were original -- almost 100 years old! -- with drafty seals, cracked glazing, top sashes painted shut, and letting in all sorts of dust, bugs, and sounds. With our new windows it feels like an entirely new home -- We have a clear view, the windows open easily to let in a breeze, and close tightly to keep the A/C or heating efficient. James, the owner, was incredibly knowledgeable, very responsive to our calls and emails, and was genuinely interested in making sure we were satisfied. He was able to find the right product for our situation at a great price. James kept us informed every step of the way, from measuring, ordering, receiving, and installing the windows. His crew was efficient and respectful, replacing all windows in less than 8 hours. I highly recommend Supreme Windows and Exteriors!

After receiving several estimates for the job, I decided to go with Supreme Windows. From the sales call to the installation, they were knowledgeable, thorough and professional. Additionally, I felt that James, the owner, actually cared about the job and my satisfaction. Sales Process -- Ron arrived right on time for our appointment. He was very knowledgeable about his company's products and service and was respectful of our needs and budget. I never got the impression of a "hard sell" that I had experienced with several of the other companies that I had interviewed. Instead, I felt that he and the company were very appreciative of my business and consideration. I had done some considerable homework on what window installation would cost in my area, and in the end, I feel I received a very fair quote for a quality product. I liked that I was provided a full quote right there at the appointment, that included everything (no nickel and diming later), with a detailed warranty. Window Measurement -- The following weekend, Lazaro arrived to take detailed measurements for fabrication of the windows. I learned that he would also be the crew leader for the installation, which I appreciated. Installation -- Approximately 3 weeks later, the windows were completed at the factory and I scheduled the installation with James. The crew showed up on time. The only small hiccup was that the truck delivering the actually windows from the factory was delayed over 3 hours. Apparently it had stopped elsewhere first to deliver another order on the way? The crew started with the second floor apartment and did what they could to prep and remove the existing windows while they waited for the truck to arrive. It was a windy day, and so having all the windows removed at once made a bit of a mess with debris blowing around the apartment. It probably would have gone a bit more smoothly if the windows had arrived as originally planned by 10am. Once the windows arrived, the rest of the installation went quickly and efficiently. The crew was very diligent about minimizing debris as much as possible, draping furniture to protect it and vacuuming each work area as they went along. One thing to note... I was impressed by the crew when one of them noticed that the tempered window we were having installed was not operating properly. They actually called it in and a gentleman from the factory showed up to fix it. Ultimately, this is probably something that I would never have known or noticed, but they cared about the job to ensure it was done correctly. The installation of our 40+ windows took two days. Before the crew left, James called to ensure that I was entirely satisfied and thanked me for my business. The crew cleaned up the work areas well, and the new windows look great. It's only been a few days, but so far, I'm very pleased and would recommend Supreme Windows.

Naperville Windows and Doors stuck out immediately to me with quick communication via email and phone, along with free in-person consultation. There were no gimmicks, no games, no pressure to purchase, and a full out the door price (no pun intended) with no additional fees that would come later. Other people I spoke with tried to put some pressure on me with timelines and costs, but I don't do business with places like that. Don and Sandy were great and easy to work with, timelines were exactly what they mentioned, and the day of install couldn't have gone more perfectly. Jereen came by and did an incredible job on the install, with beautiful trim finishing around the interior / exterior and sealing everything up beautifully. The work was also completed in about 5 hours which was very speedy and efficient. The pricing was right in our budget and extremely competitive with all other vendors we spoke with, but the level of customer service exceeded everyone else by far. We'll continue to do business with them for all of our door / window needs in the future, looking forward to working with them again! Best, Charlie

We did our best to seal off the opening with thick plastic and tape until we could get the window replaced but knew that wouldn't last long. One company we called wanted over $500 just to nail plywood over the opening. In the meantime, we called two window companies to get estimates for the replacement. The first company spent very little time and was rather short with us. They offered nothing in the way of covering the opening for the 6-8 weeks it would take for the new window. Then we called Naperville Windows & Doors. Their representative came to our house and took time to listen to us and address our concerns. Shortly after receiving our estimate (which, by the way, was over $1000 lower than the first company for the same window), Don (who I believe is the owner) came out to get exact measurements. When he saw the gaping hole in our house & our makeshift repair, he offered to nail the old window into place and seal the opening so we wouldn't be without a window for 2 months. When we tried to pay him for his trouble, he wouldn't take any money. Very impressive customer service! Needless to say, we chose to go with NWD. When our window came in, Joe came to install it. He was super nice & did a fantastic job! The window is beautiful & very solid. We were very happy with our experience with NWD and would whole-heartedly recommend them. In fact, we plan to begin replacing our other windows over the next few years & will go with NWD again when we do. Thanks again!

Getting window quotes is a real pane in the glass!…read more We had four of them and the sales pitches from three of them made the process very tedious. Jim asked us questions before he came out and when he came he knew what we were looking for. Jim's got a nice, low key way about him. He's been in the business quite a while and was able to make some good suggestions. He followed up and did what he said he would do. We wanted to preserve the old woodwork in the house (The Marvin window guy kept wanting us to replace it) so the three other quotes we got (Marvin, Pella, Andersen) recommended insert windows (frame inside the frame) which is what we thought that we would do except that the windows would be smaller to accommodate the new interior frame. We got quotes on wood windows from everyone and some vinyl. Jim recommended sash replacements, this allows for the windows to be almost the same size as the originals from 1922. His quote for the wood windows was a little higher than the best vinyl ones and lower than all of the other wood windows. We had 19 windows installed on the first floor last week, and let me tell you... they look fantastic! Gorgeous wood windows that match the original look of the old windows (minus the cracked paint, dirty storm windows, sticks for holding the windows up etc...) with a fresh new look. We couldn't be happier. Jim gave us a good price, good advice and measured carefully so the install went smoothly (and on time!) His guys were polite and careful around our stuff (and our great dog "Chaps") We are very happy with the result. We also had Jim replace two basement windows, one of them had a pipe going through it, Jim handled this in the coolest way... I can see clearly now.....

The reduction in road noise is profound, and where our old windows produced interior condensation when the temperatures dropped below 20, these new windows are still totally dry. The 3 huge new windows you replaced in our kitchen are similarly excellent. We now have a beautifully clear view as we wash dishes, almost no exterior noise, and hugely improved temperature control. Thank you for your hard work, excellent products, and outstanding service.

I found this company on Thumbtack and boy was it a huge mistake! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! I…read moreoriginally talked and wrote my contract with Dylon and he promised me they'd do an amazing job painting my walls, rails, windows and kitchen cabinets. I was assured time and time again that Dylon will bring his best crew and they knew exactly what I wanted and they knew how to it professionally! He also promised the job will take 10 days to 2 weeks max! Well, the project took almost 4 weeks and they ruined pretty much all that they touched! The walls most have shadows and even though they said they painted a few coats it still looks bad in some areas! The paint on the railing was over sprayed and it's running and some areas weren't sanded properly and it's rough to the touch! They absolutely ruined my kitchen cabinets as they didn't prep them at all, just spayed them and didn't even bother to remove the protective tape inside that prevents damage to the cabinets (just painted right over it)! My built in fridge has panels and as soon as they took all the panels off to paint, they lost the upper panel and didn't know what happened to it! That's a custom piece and it's very expensive. They also lost most of the hinges to the cabinets and couldn't put them back up properly as they are all crooked and lopsided! They threw my drawers out in the open with no protection whatsoever and got paint all over the insides as well. My kitchen looks horrible! Even Dylon admitted it didn't look good and to give them another chance, but we had to move in and they had 4 weeks already! All my cabinet fronts have to be changed at this point as they won't stand the sanding and refinishing once more!Their excuse was that there were other contractors there when i reality there was one contractor working in the upstairs bathroom and an electrician that was almost done (also Dylon was told about this before and he reassured me that they do this all the time and it's no big deal)! They took down all of the interior doors to paint them and they couldn't put one back that works! You heard right, of the 13 doors not one closes properly as they either hung them incorrectly or stripped them and they are useless so we will eventually have to replace them! They took out our sliding door to paint it and I don't know why they took out the handle as it went missing as well. As for the sliding door, they couldn't put it back properly and not only was it a safety hazard but it let cold air in and we had spend thousands to get that replaced. They took down all the ceiling fans to paint the ceiling but didn't put any one of them back up so another expense! They lost 8 window channels, all weather stripping was ruined 2 window screens were missing, most of the electrical outlet covers were missing and even though Dylon replace a few of those we put them back ourselves! My partner also helped with finishing the paint in the closets and trying to hang the kitchen cabinets in a good will to help them move faster. They also left my house in such filth that the cleaning person who was here for 10 hours gave up and left as there was so much paint and dust everywhere. Speaking of paint, they had spray that was as on the flooring upstairs and they took it off using a chemical solvent that took the sheen right out of the brand new floors we had put it! Using this without our knowledge nor consent voided the warranty and the flooring needs to be replaced. So many other things to mention but after all this D-Wing tried to charge us through a third party (a roofing company) that was not in our agreement nor were we told about this. We disputed the charge as we didn't know who the roofing company was and we were trying to protect ourselves in this day and age of fraud. However, the owner of the company calls and demands we release the funds (mind you the credit card company found this charge to be fraudulent as well), so I asked him to just write a paragraph telling me they'll be charging me this way as a protection for us that we had paid and he refused!!! We were in the middle of all this that the owner decided to put a mechanical lien on our home and then trying to sue us! What a headache and a waste of time, energy and everything else! Please please save yourselves and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They turned buying and fixing a home into something disastrous and beyond stressful. Now, the paint looks bad as it wasn't applied properly and it's bleeding through! The windows have chips and cracks and some baseboards have bubbles in them! I wish I never contacted D-Wing!

He measured the windows so quickly (like 2 minutes) that I wondered if the windows world 3 actually fit (they did!). The price was extremely reasonable; we had intended to get three estimates but my mom and I both lined Kris so much we decided to go with him right away. I chose a day for installation when Kris was going to be out of town on vacation so he let me decide if we wait to wait until he got back or if we wanted him to send his right hand man Daniel. We went with Daniel who showed up right on time on a cold morning. I thought removing the old badly cracked panes of glass would be very difficult. I was right but they got the old ones out quickly and the new ones in so fast and they finished about 30 minutes before their estimate.
