Not sure what happened to this company, but I would avoid them at all costs. Owner (David) has refused to schedule the work, sent me on a goose chase to find a check they already had, and not answering emails. To avoid any discrepancies, I compiled all of my interactions in one spot (Only verbal interaction was the initial meeting.) A brief summary is below. Screen shots of the compilation are attached since there is a word limit on reviews -I have emailed them 18 times (all but 1 had a question for them to answer. The majority have been sent days apart). I have received a total of 5 replies from them -Since the initial offer to resend the contract on 6/12 at 9:12 AM, I have asked for or told them that I am ready to sign a contract in 10 emails. They have never resent it. (Their initial contract had a different work date then what was discussed and they never responded to that question. It also never said that it expired in 24 hours) -July 2 they said you needed both checks that I received. Yet it took me sending 7 emails/ texts to find out that they already had the 2nd check? -Since the 2nd check was located I have had to ask 5 times what their availability is to do the work, and they still have yet to answer (Please enlighten me if I am mistaken, but this seems like a necessary question to get the ball rolling on getting the project scheduled?) read more

Owner refuses to finish the job, I have an attic fan with no power cable because they threw it away during installation. We even ordered a replacement cable for the one they threw away (at our own expense) and they will not wire it up because they claim "We have fulfilled our duties outlined in the contract." Didn't think we needed to specify that the attic fan needed to be plugged in in the contract. Owner has been aggressive and hostile. He has even harassed my family because of a negative review. read more

I recently hired Matrix to install a roof on my home. This is the second project that I hired them to perform. They installed siding 2 years ago and I couldn't be more pleased with every aspect of the job. The roofing crew performed a very professional job in a very safe and timely manner. My wife and I were given several choices of quality products to choose from and we were guided by David the owner on a couple of great suggestions that we never would have considered but love the results. The crew spent over an hour with four people cleaning up our property and making sure that there was no sign of any debris or nails etc.. David explained to me that he instills in his workers that they should treat his clients home as their own. They Do! We had our roof replaced by matrix last month (july 22) and I have recommended them to friends already. I wanted to post a review as well, as the others here were helpful in our decision to work with matrix. Tracy was helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. She approached me while working on my yard in 2021 and inquired about damage from a recent storm. She worked closely with the adjuster from my insurance, and they advised me that at the time, there was not significant enough damage to recommend filing a claim. Fast forward a year, and Tracy reached out to me after our neighborhood had experienced hail storms. They went through the same process, recommended filing a claim this time, and it was immediately approved. I then met with David who explained the plan they put together thoroughly, patiently answered all of our questions, and had the work scheduled for 2 days later. David was immediately responsive whenever I reached out with questions or requests. Their team (and process) is a well oiled machine... I went to work with my old roof on, came home ten hours later to a brand new one, job complete, with no damage, no trouble, and everything cleaned up thoroughly. I was skeptical at the start, and at times throughout the process, as it seemed a bit too good to be true. I was expecting a catch somewhere along the way, but after reading many reviews, and feeling very comfortable working with Tracy, I decided to move forward with the process. I'm very glad I did, as matrix delivered on everything promised, while being prompt, professional and kind. David even arranged for a crew to come back after the fact to add an additional vent I didn't realize was needed at the time of install, free of charge. read more

My neighbors were getting siding done by Matrix Exteriors, LLC in Lombard. The next day we found piles of what looks like kitty litter with a very strong smell of ammonia dumped around my 10 foot Rose of Sharon that is half dead and all the plants surrounding it are dead. I weed my property everyday so I know this stuff was not here before the company came in and did work. Because we didn't know what was happening we called the company to let them know about it and to let them know but their representative swore at me and threatened a lawsuit if I bothered him again with this situation. I was treated poorly at best. I thought the people who own this company would want to know. Buyer beware. If you have a problem with this company I am not sure what kind of response or help you will receive. read more

Matrix Public Adjusters is also part of the same company. They were doing door-to-door sales. The guy said I had no choice but to sign the tablet to get a free roof assessment. I declined. Spoke with neighbor and they said they were scammed by Matrix. In fine print on the electronic form, it's a contract that requires you to use their roofing service and that they can take a big percentage out of your insurance claim payout as their commission. My neighbor had to report this to the state attorney general as well as the national insurance crime bureau for Matrix's unethical business practice. read more

We had roofing damage due to hail and wind (Midwest right), and we were flooded with contractors coming to the door (which is expected and, in hindsight, appreciated). Something about Matrix Exteriors led us to reach back out. Once we did, David showed up, walked us through, and guaranteed his personal dedication and commitment. It sounds too good to be true. Well, here's the thing: it was true. David gave us every minute that we needed and helped with a long HOA approval process. Well, I guess saying "Helped us" is a bit short. He "Held our Hands" and got not only insurance approval but also HOA approvals. He was great. His team showed up and did the work. Now, as new homeowners and slightly older, we were scared and questioned EVERYTHING Over and Over again. David would chuckle and talk us through it. He didn't say this, but I think he thinks of his customers and crew as his family and works to give the kind of value that one would for a family. We had one concern, and within 2 hours, David's team was on it and took care of us. He respects his employees, which is something that one can only admire he has his customer's back, giving them his dedication. Oh, and did I mention that he gets things done! Every day, we take the dog out just to admire the roof. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. Most of them are just teenage solicitors who don't care for the home owners best interests, they only want to get roofs bought and most of them are very desperate for sales. They will argue with home owners and force them to sign petty agreements. All in all, very unprofessional company and don't sign any agreements these door to door solicitors try to give you! Try to be very hesitant when trying to hire anyone who solicits home repair services door to door period. read more

Called for a visit to estimate a carpentry job. The estimator arrived on time but within a minute of arriving insisted we had a serious problem that required a major repair and totally avoided the issue for which he was called in the first place. I steered him back on course and he stopped his ranting rather shocked I dared to interrupt him. He said he had no interest in doing the work he told us he could do so I told him we had nothing more to discuss and went back inside. He continued to press my wife about this fictitious issue and she shut him down too. The work he was after was a total replacement of the roof decking which was done about 20 years ago and cited eave sags as evidence. The house is over 100 years old and has minor sag that is not a problem or worth addressing. The fact that he was so pushy and insistent he was right without knowing anything about the house told me this guy is not trustworthy and was just trying to sell us service we did not need. I know my house well and this guy was way off the mark. He was clearly trying to scare us into spending lots of money. I suggest avoiding this company. read more
