Super glad I found these guys! After my initial visit to the Apple Store, they diagnosed that the hard drive in my Macbook Pro died and needed to be replaced. I was not feeling the Apple Store prices to replace the hard drive nor the 5-7 days they said it would take. So I started researching for local, reputable computer repair shops. My husband is self-employed and relies on his laptop to run his business 7 days per week. When his laptop screen went blank during a recent lightning storm, he pretty much freaked! He was able to determine that the issue wasn't with the power source, the motherboard or the video card; it was definitely the screen. If thia could be rated 10 stars, this business would deserve more..I went in to repair my MacBook pro, got the FREE diagnostic within an hour that it was the replacement of my motherboard needed, other places charge over $400 and I got the best deal here. Plus, they give an additional discount if you left a positive review for services used in the past and that's why I have them rated 5 stars on Google review as well. All the staff is very friendly and patient with you, when I went to pick up my MacBook pro, I had another issue with the laptop aside from motherboard and it was the front latches to clamp down and magnetically close the computer wasn't functioning (prior to fixing it, that was there)..I asked if they could fix it and spent about 30 minutes with me and didn't give up until they got to the solution. I thank they team very much for the help! An additional testimony from other who were in the store at the same time as I was..one came back completely frustrated at "You break it, we fix it" from Taft and flamingo and apparently instead of repairing an iPad screen, they broke it more. Another instance where a sweet old lady was hacked and tricked by "Microsoft" calling in and hacking her computer was there and they were able to help immediately while providing her comfort. These guys are seriously the best. I came into work one day to find my computer wouldn't turn on. The power light would flash orange. The computer is not even 1 year old. So I brought it into Best Buy geek squad to have it looked at. The kid plugged it in, tried to turn it on, saw the light was orange and told me we must have had a power surge at my office and the computer mother board was fried. The kid told me it would be cheaper to buy a new computer than to have it fixed. Thankfully I brought it into Next Door Geeks to have a second opinion. Let me start by saying- I went to several other technicians (one being Apple) and everyone wanted $180+ and 5-7 days just to LOOK at my MacBook Pro and diagnose the issue (not including what it would actually cost to repair afterwards). Luckily, I did some Yelp research and found Next Door Geeks. They checked out my laptop for free, called me the same day and let me know the issue and pricing ($150 total to repair and back up). The WORST service, work and Zero integrity. If you have been here check your equipment and make sure they did not replace your equipment with older/cheaper version, processors, mother boards, like they did to us. Six months have passed they admit to it and they still have not made things right. Time to lawyer up. Be careful do not trust Next Door Geeks with your equipment. All I can say is wow They made my old 2 cored desk top computer as fast as a new intel I 5 I can't believe the speed I was going to buy a new computer for over $800.00 but they told me they can make it as fast of faster than what I was looking at. They even put in a H D M I port so I can hook it up to my big screen tv.. On my 10 year old lap top they made that run like a new computer. I am so pleased I found a place that doesn't try to rip people off. Needed photos and music pulled off HDs from very old, non operational laptops for my parents, as well as troubleshooting of a computer I built as a novice(still novice). They kept me informed and smartly verified my issues along with gathering information they would have needed prior to simply letting me walk away after dropping off my computers, alleviating a return trip if needed. The number one thing you should look for in a repair shop is honesty. There are so many shops that lie and deceive their customers for a fast buck. Not these guys. They made me feel comfortable and did not push me to do anything. I brought my PC in for a free diagnosis. Shortly they called me to tell me exactly what the issue was and how much to repair it. They said take your time, shop around and let us know. They where courteous, friendly, punctual and most importantly HONEST. They even told me to contact my warranty just in case I was still covered. On April 21, I brought an old smartphone in that wasn't holding a charge; I called the store & was referred to Ovi, who quoted $20 to replace the battery. I told Ovi that it was an emergency and needed it right away because my mother was in the hospital & we needed a way for her to call family. He said I should bring it to the store and he'd bring a battery for it. I dropped off the phone & went to run an errand - within an hour, I got a call that there was more wrong with the phone than the battery, but was not given details. I asked for a call from the tech but never got one. In the meantime I was dealing with my mother's illness & trying to arrange for her care after discharge from the hospital. My mom was in the hospital for 2 weeks & has been home for a week and a half and as of Thursday, I had STILL heard NOTHING, so I called AGAIN and was told they'd call me back - they didn't. Today I picked up the phone without them doing any repair. The clerk told me that the tech wanted to know my budget for the repair because he would have to take apart the phone in order to really diagnose the problem & they would charge me for the time - despite the sign on their wall that says "free diagnosis". Not only that, but he told me that I had only just dropped it off last Saturday. What?? I even looked in my call log & confirmed the date. It was not last week! These guys are on another planet, thay have no respect for their potential customers' time, and they're just plain shady. Stay far, far away. First off, they don't charge you to run Diagnostics on your device. They give you a complete synopsis of what the problem is and all the available solutions. Noah provided amazing customer service. He diagnosed my computer, laid out all the solutions and price points, cleaned out everything slowing down its performance, replaced my hard drive, and cloned it over to the new hard drive within a couple days. read more

I've brought my Macbook here twice and both times I received amazing customer service and the repairs were much faster and cheaper than at the Apple Store. This time I was in for a new motherboard, and not only were they able to fix my computer on the same day, they cleaned it inside and out and with my permission downloaded some virus protection software for me, even letting me borrow a charger until my new one arrived in the mail. These guys are the real deal! I went to them in despair, I had previously got my iphone screen repaired and they totally took advantage. The last place I went to gave me a plastic screen and forgot to put screws back as well as the camera shield. The Next Door Geeks took great care of me. In 30 minutes my phone was back up to code. They matched my screen exactly and put back the missing pieces. They even offered me water while I waited. They mainly do computer diagnostics and repair. I was very impressed with all the reviews on here. Took my mini notebook in last month because it had been running slowly, and I wanted to use it on my vacation. They said they'd have it the following day on Friday . Never heard from them and finally I called on Tuesday. Went to pick it up, and he said it had a lot of viruses that he cleared. When he turned it on to show me, it had about 25 updates. we waited about two hours, and the updates weren't even a quarter done. Finally,we decided to come back the next day,and I guess he never left it going when we left so the updates would get done. My husband again waited for two hours. Sad thing was, when we finally got the computer back, it wasn't any better than when when we took it in. I ended up doing everything I needed off my phone. read more

Here is the deal. ..these guys are the best... hands down!!! They fixed my wife's computer and installed a SSD drive that made this computer VERY fast. It was a bit of an investment but still cheaper than a new computer and I had all my files and softwares saved. I also dropped off one of my old laptops that needed a new fan. They repaired it and cleaned it...removed all viruses...fast and quite without overheating. .. now I can use it as a media center on my tv. But the best. ..I broke the screen of my 1 year old surface. ... they told me flat out its not worth it to fix it because of the cost. ...Very honest!!! Highly recommended! read more
