So I take it in to Torrance Motors without an appointment and ask if they could take a quick look at it to verify it is still safe to drive, as we had a long upcoming trip in a few days. They right away put it up on the lift and verified that it was safe to drive. However, the control arm, tie rods and bushings (leaking grease) were shot. Showed me the pictures and it was a mess. This level of repair was not cheap...but it was reasonable. No more complaints from my wife...at least about the car.

I noticed the tech was efficient and pleasantly working which is always a plus. I definitely recommend this place for a smog test. It's not a STAR station which is fine as long as it's not required from DMV. I was on the road before 10am which was great because I needed to get my registration tags from DMV since they expired the next day. I was done within a couple of hours. Phew!‍

After the repairs, the splash shield was missing. When I brought this up to the shop, I was told they had nothing to do with it and that it may have already been missing when the vehicle arrived. The problem is, I personally saw the part on the vehicle when it was dropped off. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures beforehand, which I regret. The shop also told me they don't replace missing parts. That leaves the customer in a difficult position when a part is missing after the vehicle has been in their possession, especially when the customer has no way to prove exactly what happened. What makes this even more frustrating is that my insurance company won't discuss the part directly with the shop, leaving me stuck in the middle trying to resolve something that should have been handled professionally. I'm not accusing anyone of intentionally taking the part because I cannot prove that. However, the way this situation was handled has completely damaged my trust in this shop. Customers should be able to leave their vehicles with a repair facility knowing that all parts will be accounted for and returned with the vehicle. I strongly recommend taking detailed pictures and documenting every part of your vehicle before leaving it at this shop. I wish I had done that myself.

As soon as I got my car here, Angel had the brake light switched off within five minutes, tested it and seen that it was OK, but then saw that it wasn't the brake light switch but a plastic fitting he ran to the auto parts store got the fitting for me went to install the old switch and found out that it actually wasn't good and installed the new switch that I had purchased in advanced .
