Took my daughter to this clinic 3/8 after she injured her knee and ankle on her right leg. She was in a lot of pain and could not walk. The attendant told me that they could do xrays to check her out and the wait would be 45 minutes. We waited and when they wheeled her back to the exam room, the provider walked in and without even an exam, without offering any type of care (crutches, xrays, pain meds, physical exam) told us we need to go straight to an ER. We left and this clinic will not give me my office visit copay back of $100. NO exam was provided, no consultation was provided. Just you have to go to the ER. I would like my copay back. 0 out of 5 stars NO discharge paperwork, No physical exam notes. Provider did not put a hand on my daughter and they will not refund my copay of $100. I had a great experience here. Someone update the hours, as I visited on a Sunday morning and found this location very open. I got checked in after feeling terrible with an ear infection and lovely pink eye. I met the PA Liani and she examined me quickly. All of the staff here were very helpful and accommodating. The receptionist got me checked in quickly with a text message form and then back to meet with the nurse. She took my vitals and made notes about my symptoms. Then I met Liani and she examined my ears, eyes, and throat. She prescribed some antibiotics and something called a Z Pack? 280? 240? If it makes me feel better, I'm down. Thank goodness this location serves patients on Sundays. So glad these efficient ladies were here to treat and diagnose my creeping crud. I will be back...just hopefully not too soon. read more

Walked in to loud rap music in the waiting room. Very strange. Had an appointment, but they are taking walkins ahead of us with similar issues (no triage being done, so that isn't the problem). No physician on site. It is a PA. PAs and NPs seem to be the only option at an urgent care and sometimes at the ER. Nothing else to say. read more

Posting this as I am still in the waiting room from a 7:45 appt and it is now 8:30am. Everywhere, the hours are listed and they open at 7am-- we made an appt at 4am to come in at 7:45 and upon arrival the other 5 people in the waiting room told us that no one was here yet. Receptionist, Simone, didn't show up until 8:15..... if you are offering appointments starting at 7am then I would assume we would have a receptionist to check people in prior. If we are not going to be staffed until 8 then perhaps we shouldn't have appointments available until then. Doctors were roaming around in the back and let us know the receptionist would be in soon but you'd think they'd have the clearance to check us in or have someone who knew what to do rather than let the 7am appointments wait over an hour to be seen. Not a very professionally run facility and if you try to call the AZDHS their phones are still experiencing high traffic because of COVID. Of course. Next time using WebMD. Update: we have been in the exam room for over 30 minutes, the lady that brought us in took vitals and then left. 7:45am appt, 9:15am still no doc nurse practitioner came in 9:25, poked and prodded for 14 seconds and then ordered an xray 9:33am taken for xray, that is probably the most timely thing they have done! perhaps we are on the right track now, almost 2 hours after our appointment time 9:48am xray review and now waiting for ortho 10:05 departure meaning we spent 2 hours at 25 minutes here and still have to go elsewhere for further care read more

What a horrible experience I had at this Urgent Care. My primary doctor told me to go to the Urgent Care for a UTI because they had no appointments available. Unfortunately, I chose this location, which took a urine sample and confirmed I had an infection but never sent it out for lab culture in order to select the right antibiotic. So, in a brief 60 second "doctor appointment" some guy at this place sends a prescription over for me and it ends up not doing a thing. I needed two additional days of antibiotic because it "almost" got the infection, but they won't do it. "We must reexamine you." Wow - they are simply in this not to make you healthy, but to get you to make repeat visits and hit up the insurance as often as possible. The whole experience with this place stunk to high heaven. AVOID this location at all costs. read more

I went in with a migraine and told them all my symptoms. They took me back, took my vitals etc and then within 5 minutes the doctor came in and let me know they can't treat me due to my symptoms. I was charged over $300 to be told I can't be treated from symptoms they were aware of before I was even taken back. I am a college student working to pay off debts and the $300 was a pretty big blow at the time, only to be told I needed to go to the emergency room. I went out to the car crying and my mother went in to see if there was a way to get that refunded since they quite literally did not provide any help to me and they said no, since they had already done the exam (which was completely unnecessary if they knew they couldn't treat me). I called the office to get my a note to return to work changed to Monday instead of returning Thursday. They told me they could not because a different provider was in and that they can only give an excuse for two days! I have been running a fever everyday. I could go back in and be charged another fee to be seen. Sounds like the just want to make more money off of people when they aren't feeling well. As I was leaving a nearby restaurant I fell and hurt my arm. The friend with me is a nurse and she insisted I needed to get an X-ray. It was near closing time when we entered NextCare. And front desk person adamantly informed us they were about to close. But someone in the back quickly did an X-ray and said they would call with result the following day. It's been over a year and they still have not called with results, even though I called them twice to find out and was told the doctor would call. Due to the attitude and failure to follow through I would never go there again. read more

Have been to this Urgent Care 3 or 4 times and I would NOT recommend it. Only 1 out of 4 times did I have a PA with good bed side manners, the others were awful and showed no consideration for being a patient at their clinic. Also experienced waiting 30-40 minutes in the exam room on each visit while I could hear the staff in the hall talk about their families, and then debate what was wrong with me.. major lack of medical knowledge here! In my latest visit I was given an X-ray and told I needed to go get an MRI elsewhere. The PA told me they would give me a referral which I later discovered was only a radiology report, and now I have to get another X-ray with a real doctor because no one honors X-ray images from an urgent care. My boyfriend fell and hurt his arm, he wanted a place that had X-ray just to make sure he was okay. They called him to tell him the X-ray machine wasn't working so he still went there, waited an hour for the doctor to go in less than one minute to see his arm and said without X-rays we can't do anything. $320 for one minute visit. Horrible communication and long wait time. I arrived and was told to fill out paperwork on my phone to be signed in. Shortly after one woman walked in due to her circumstances she was able to go ahead of me, I was not told this I overheard the woman at the front desk telling another woman who was asking when she will be next. It now being almost an hour I went to ask the lady at the front desk will I be after the woman who went ahead due to her circumstances. The lady then informed me I would not since the other lady who came in after had an appointment. I'm glad I got up to ask because I would have been sitting for another hour or longer confused as to why all these people are going in ahead of me. read more

The admin staff here is really bad. You have to wait FOREVER after you've already been seen for them to print paperwork just so you can leave. If you arrived and didn't have anything too crazy, prepare to leave as a sick person as they hold you hostage in the waiting room. Doctor was really nice and helpful, but admin staff makes this place unbearable. They know they're slow and don't care. Also, they say they open at 7:00am, but don't actually call you back to be seen till 7:30 even if you have an appointment. read more

Okay, I'm a good doobie so I go online: "No online reservations but now accepting walk-ins." 25 miles later I arrive only to be told they only see people with appointments. WTH? When I calmly say to the person at the desk "That's too bad; your website told me to come here so I drove 25 miles to do that" she literally turned her head and eyes from me while I was talking and stared into her computer. I never heard anything such as" Gosh, I'm sorry that happenned to you" nor did she say anything to me whatsoever. First off.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Treat your healthcare staff nice. These people are seeing more than 100 people a day at this facility. They have a small staff and are doing an amazing job. We booked our covid 19 test and did wait for about 45 min longer than the appointment time but... Remember they are trying to help everyone they can. If you have questions or concerns they don't just push you out they explain. This can cause it to take a little longer but relax people they care about you or they would just give you a paper and send you on the way. That being said. My wife and I were very please with the professionalism of the entire staff. That starts at the front desk...all the way to the discharge. Yes your sick and don't feel well. Yes you may wait a little longer. No that doesn't entitle you to act a fool. We need professionals like this group that try to see as many of us as possible, provide the best care and explanation of what the patient should be done to maximize recovery. Thanks for taking care of my wife and I. We appreciate everything you do and your dedication . Their doctors and staff in the clinic were exceptional. This one star review is NOT for them. The one star is for NextCare's call center. It is impossible to contact the clinic directly. I've been waiting two days for someone to contact me with my X-ray results. But when I call, it only goes to their call center, and they're "not allowed" to give me a direct number to the front desk at the clinic. All they can do is send portal messages to the clinic telling them to contact me. It should be illegal to not allow a patient to contact their provider directly. read more

HORRIBLE customer service!! How awful to refuse treatment to a person simply because they are without a mask. I have a medical condition and unable to wear one. Manager kept citing the county mask ordinance, which allows an exception to the order for medical conditions. Nextcare has no policy of their own, but they refused to acknowledge the county mandate exceptions. It's discrimination. Also not a single person in the waiting room so I was able to social distance no problem. I was there just last week with my paraplegic friend and they saw us just fine with no masks. Now this week they treat me like I'm diseased and threaten to have me removed. I suppose now they will no longer treat him too. HYPROCRITES! The county allows for exceptions for a reason. read more

Update again: Went back like an idiot this year and saw Jeannette again. She is a horrible person. Arguing with me, being abrasive, and dismissive (telling me that I don't understand how medicine works and she has no idea what my degree or education is in, ignorant). She doesn't listen to what you're saying and jumps to conclusions. When you don't feel well because you have the flu that's not what you need, it's exhausting. I told her that I didn't have the energy to argue with her and that I needed to leave and she walked out. I told her that I would need to write another read review and she said, "ok, whatever". If you go here and see the big girl that's the PA, just walk out. Update (I tried again) - Worst urgent care that I've been to. The MA and PA were rude, pushy, and abrupt. They wouldn't give me time to speak or answer their questions and at the end walked out of the room quickly saying, "have a nice day" with their back to me so that they could hurry down the hall to discuss with the front desk where they should go for lunch. Basically, the PA looked in my ears, looks in my throat and said "it's a cold, nothing we can do" and came back in with boiler plate "instructions" and sent me packing. Pretty useless. Could have at least be kind and sympathetic. Second time here and both times were awful. Go to the one on North Sight, the doctor who owns it is awesome. Last time I came in the PA was rude and condescending, the MA is always miserable to be there and this time the RN came into my room laughing after my chest X-ray and said "that's pretty funny - we'll you won't think so, the person before you had a chest X-ray too anyway, you have pneumonia". How incredibly rude to be laughing at my situation as if it's comical while I'm in terrible shape and feeling my worst. The time before they said "your sick, not much we can do so give it time" and did nothing for me. Three weeks later I was still sick and went to the Urgent Care at Northsight in Scottsdale. They gave me antibiotics (like I asked the Desert Ridge Urgent Care to do) and I was better in 3 days. I'll never be back, even with the convenance of living so close. Warning. We waited over 2 hours with an appointment! They had us wait in the parking lot after we checked in. The walk/ins have same priority as an Appointment. All the "walk ins" on their patient portal were taken care of in order of arrival before we were seen. Not sure why we bothered to set an appointment. Dr was very helpful once we got into the exam room. Receptionist was so unprofessional. After over an hour of waiting we questioned when we would be seen. She snapped and totally lied to us. She told us to wait in the car we would be called into a separate entrance. When the RN phoned us for the appointment the RN told us to go thru reception? When you are sick the last thing you want is a run around. read more

Okay so first time going on on a Monday morning was fine. I check in at the front and waited a bit, nothing too long. Second time for reevaluation scheduled via call center , they got my name wrong to start. I check in online and then I waited 50 mins in the park long lot like the messages said to do. When I looked at the waitlist it looked like I was a "walk in" not one that was scheduled. I went inside to ask if they misprioritized since I did book before. They said I needed to come in and wasn't fully checked in because they needed to see my id but the message said I was checked in... so how would I have known that. When I mentioned they might want to check the system because it didn't prompt me to come into the office per the system it said to wait in my car.. they got a little annoyed by my comment but I just feel like it was a flaw in there system causing me to wait probably longer than needed. The clinical staff though is very nice and considerate overall. Also frustrating you cannot directly talk to staff and need to go through call center. In my case I had a delayed prescription waiting on prior authorization and had to call back 3 or more times to check in to see if a message had gotten to the provider about it or if there was something over the counter I should use while waiting or something else they could prescribe. read more

The front desk woman was cold and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in and kept saying how long the wait times were, did NOT want to help us and had no concern for my daughter. Would not provide us with disposable masks and did everything possible not to help. No urgency or care, sadly. We proceeded down to HonorHealth urgent care on union hills where we were helped, cared for, received disposable masks and were seen within 15 mins. Would never return here. Made an appointment and still waited for hours at the Desert Ridge location. Was checking if I had a sprain vs fracture after falling on my fingers. The PA (Michael Tucker) came in for two minutes, poked my fingers, which were bruised and swollen, and said it was just a sprain, tape it and see your PCP if not better in ten days. I asked why no X-ray and he said it wasn't necessary since it wouldn't change the treatment. I said I might need a pin since finger looked displaced (I am an RN). He said I didn't need anything like that and made me feel silly for coming in. I saw my PCP the following week, who immediately ordered an X-ray. I had TWO displaced fractures, saw a hand surgeon who recommended surgery which was more difficult to do since it was no longer a fresh injury. Finger had to be rebroken in surgery due to the time lapse, needed pins and I am still in PT trying to regain function. What would have been a simple surgery if correctly diagnosed at the beginning became much more difficult. I do not have any confidence in this office and would not recommend to anyone. read more

They said it wouldn't make sense to come in and see the doctor there because then they'd charge me and still send me to the ER anyway. This Is my spot when it comes to my urgent needs. I have been living in the area for decades, so I've had my runs w a sharp knife and the occasional ear aches. This place always takes good care of me. Always put me at ease. Great docs, great facility. The problem is last time when I needed them they decided "not this time", and that was upsetting. Imagine having a an unbearable pain and be told to go somewhere else. It was so weird because I was greeted, fine as usual, and even asked for my insurance card. But as I'm looking for it, in the midst of it, I was just told sorry we are busy. It was a very confusing thing for me because I look around and there was not one single person on sight. Nobody waiting, nobody coming in. Also confusing because there was a big sign right outside in big bold colors saying OPEN". Even most confusing, they close at 7 but I was there 6:24. But I think my greatest confusion is that I went to an URGENT CARE facility with a big sign outside that read Urgent Care.... What is the sense of having an urgent care facility that's not gonna be available in the case of something last min.... And Urgent?? They have 2 clerk's in the front just talking. They say they are short staffed, yet they do have 2 people outside on an empty waiting room. People usually get off work 5to 7 pm... This place just closes right at happy hour. 7pm is so early for a center of this kind to close. And what medical center rejects patient's? The clerk told me unless you have an appointment you are not going to be seen today,........ Appointment??? It is an urgent care facility. I don't know if this Doctors took the Hippocrates oath, but based on the way I was treated that night during working hours it sounds as if for sure they took the Hypocritical oath.
