I recently visited Baylor Scott & White Urgent Care seeking help for significant neck pain (Cervical Dystonia). Before my visit, I carefully reviewed the clinic's website, which stated that the facility could assist with neck pain. Based on that information, I expected evaluation and treatment options beyond over-the-counter medication. During the intake process and throughout my visit, I clearly communicated that over-the-counter medications were not providing relief. Despite this, the care I received was limited to a recommendation for Tylenol. I was left feeling that the services available did not match the expectations set by the clinic's online information regarding treatment for neck pain. It is disappointing when patients in genuine pain are directed by an urgent care clinic to "go to an Emergency Room, even though I'm standing in what I thought was one....particularly when the apparent KNOWN limitations are not clearly communicated upfront. I share this feedback as a recent patient who had a negative experience so that the practice can hopefully better align its advertised services with the actual care provided. I hope this input is received constructively. Honest patient feedback is protected under consumer protection laws, and I trust there will be no form of retaliation for sharing my experience. read more

We have Baylor Scott & White. LOVE Baylor Scott & White. This is about NextCare, which I learned later has only recently has been affiliated with Baylor Scott & White. They are not connected to the BSW system and apparently have not undergone training either. We went to this NextCare Urgent Care facility (Palm Valley and Sunrise in Round Rock) believing we were going to a BSW facility. Service was not up to BSW standards. The receptionist (blue hair streaks) was not friendly or helpful. Kept making me get up to answer questions. There was another person at reception who noticed I was having trouble breathing and walking. At least she walked over to me to sign forms and offered water. The blue hair streaks was better at staying seated and calling me to her. Why she couldn't get all the information on the first go is a mystery. The doctor was nice but not competent. When I failed to get better, I went to a REAL BSW urgent care, the doctor confirmed I was not given the correct prescription. Luckily, I had the forethought to bring the printout from NextCare that summarized the x-ray findings. Thankfully, I started getting better with the right prescription and dosage. I got a bill from NextCare. Just adds insult to injury, so to speak. I would avoid ANY NextCare facility even if Baylor, Scott & White is emblazoned everywhere. Almost the most incompetent people I have met at a medical clinic. How do yall mess up my prescription over 8 times??? Making me wait while I'm in pain for and extra 15 minutes because you can't figure out the correct pharmacy??? I gave the exact address multiple times and it still comes back "messed up", I went to the cvs where the clinic SAID and SHOWED me the paperwork for my prescription to be picked up from, I get there and the cvs says "no, it's not here, its at the wells branch one" and now I want to scream because I need these antibiotics and the doctors said it would be available at this location and it was not. Completely ridiculous and a huge waste of my time driving 15 minutes in the wrong direction because these people who are working for this clinic don't understand how to write/fill prescriptions??? Went in with my throat hurting from being choked during BJJ practice. I had coughed up a slight amount of blood. They charged me $70 and all they did was take my BP, temp, O2 levels. The NP didn't even examine me. Came in and told me to go to ER. No refund of my copay. It's ridiculous that places like this make money they way they do. read more

Flu season is back looking to take back its season. Went in just for a routine check up. Had an appointment. Waited an hour in the front before being taken to the back. During that time, I watched two other patients go to the back, only one come from the back. When I finally made it to the back, they took a time sample, and then I sat in a room for over an our while a waited to be seen by the provider. These are not exaggerations, all I had to do was watch my phone most of the time and play subway surfers. Watched tv while in the back; two episodes of Charles in charge. Didn't even know they still played that show on tv!! there assistants were polite and pleasant, the receptionist was very courteous, going so far as to apologize for the long wait times. The provider was nice, didn't really seem interested in my symptoms. My tests all came back clean ‍, sooo that was pretty much it. The clinic is located in a dated strip mall. Do not recommend anyone go here. The lady working at the check in desk was rude and refused to show any kind of empathy that should be associated with patient care. Not only does she lack the adequate professionalism but if you return the same attitude she gives you, she will play the victim and will call the police on you. I made an appointment for my 6 yr old son to be seen as soon as the location opened at 9:00 am. The appointment was for two and a half hours later in the morning 11:40 am. Upon arrival and checking in, I did not understand how patients were being tracked to be seen. After waiting for an hour and half in my car with him, I went inside to ask for clarification but the lady at the front desk cut me off before I could ask. All she told me was I was next in line and would be called in once there was a room available. Another 30 minutes goes by and I went back in to ask my question. A lady who arrived later than us followed me in the door and was escorted to a room to be seen. I attempted to ask my question and was met with more attitude and condescending behavior. I then told her she didn't have to be rude and began to return the same attitude I was receiving. I was asked to stop yelling and was told they would ask me to leave if I didn't stop. I asked for her supervisor. She asked me to wait outside the door while she got her supervisor, Rian Melton, on the phone. Front desk lady then came to the door with a half hearted attempt to sound like she was being courteous and I asked for her supervisor again. She said she was going to get her on the phone and a couple minutes later locked the door. 5 minutes later 4 police officers show up and inform me that the staff is refusing to see my son. The wait wasn't too long. They did work us in for an appointment, which was great. The only other option we had was the ER, but we got to go here instead. The doctor was great, and the staff disinfected everything in the waiting room after each patient. The office was clean and tidy. Waiting room is comfortable, and there is plenty of close-in parking, which is nice if you have mobility issues. There is handicap parking next to one end of the buidling as well. The only bad thing: staff in a medical facility should understand that masks go OVER YOUR NOSE. Front desk staff -- and the NURSE -- did not wear their masks correctly. Scam alert! I made an appointment this morning for 9:15. Got 3 different confirmations that my appointment was scheduled. Came to the facilty on time and they told me that there was no onsite doctor and that i would be seeing a doctor via my phone virtually. The facilty was also not able to do any xrays onsite. Visited in November 2021 with some chest pain (I'm a 24 year old female). After a long battle to not take a pregnancy test, they ran normal tests and told me it was acid reflux, and all I could do was power through the pain and take a Tums. I got sent home with no help for the pain. Turns out, it was a SCAD heat attack that went undiagnosed. If they had told me to go to the hospital early on, I would have avoided surgery and physical rehabilitation. When I went to the ER some time later, they told me if i had waited any longer, my prospects weren't good. I had a life threatening condition that will affect me for the rest of my life. I'm now nearing the end of my clinical cardiology journey but the insurance bill I just received reminded me to leave a review of my experience. read more

Because that is what it is! I gave my PCR COVID TEST on Tuesday 14th sept and haven't received results. They said it will take 2 to 7 days well it's over a week now. The staff was nice , however the Dr. Not so much. I am self pay at the moment, I just moved to Austin, and I am waiting for insurance from my new job. The Dr came in looked at me for a moment and said I need to be tested for Covid and other things, bringing the bill to 300$ I said no thank you and then the Dr said I don't need antibiotics, I just have allergies and he can give me a steroid shot for $50 . This guy really should get into sales and leave the Care profession to others. Now 3 days later after the shot I got, did not help BTW, I feel like my head is underwater, I have yellow phlegm, and need to spend more money to see another Dr for antibiotics. She checked my ears, throat, and felt my lymph nodes is less than 45 seconds. She spoke a mile a minute. I went here because I needed urgent care, I had a fever of 100 for 2 days, a swollen tonsil, and a very bad sore throat, making it extremely painful to swallow. They collected payment for services I didn't even receive first, this was my first concern. I got called back fairly quickly, and told the nurse my concerns. I was then taken to a room and given a strep throat test. Leslie Giles, FNP came in and told me my strep test was negative and checked me. She then recommended a flu test and left the room. A nurse came in and took nasal swabs and left. I waited about 20 minutes for Leslie Giles, FNP to return to say the flu test was also negative. She handed me discharge papers, said drink fluids and said take the prescription in the morning and left the room before I had a chance to say anything. At this point I'm in tears because not only am I still in significant pain, this doctor is basically telling me nothing is wrong with me. I waited in the room a little while hoping she would come back so I could ask questions. She didn't. From my car in the lot I called the facility to see if I could speak with Leslie Giles, FNP seeing as she left the room so quickly. The lady at the front desk placed me on hold. Leslie Giles, FNP came to the front and chatted with the lady at the front desk and then walked away. I called back asking why I couldn't speak with Leslie Giles, FNP, the lady at the front desk stated she mentioned I was on the phone and she can't make anyone talk to me. After 40 minutes on hold the phone hangs up, thankfully they called back and placed me on hold abruptly. Finally Leslie Giles, FNP comes to the phone. I explain that she left so quickly and I didn't have any time to ask questions and let her know that I had done all of her recommendations already and that my last resort was urgent care as money is super tight and yet I'm still leaving in tears and pain. She stated they did provide care and they don't do anything for pain. I asked why wasn't I given this information before they collected payment, especially so quickly. Leslie Giles, FNP was not helpful at all and spent all of 3 minutes with me, so it was frustrating to leave in pain and call back and hear her nonchalant response to me still being in significant pain. We were icily told to go wait in our car and they would text us when it was her turn. Finally after waiting an hour we walked back in at 4:30 and asked how much longer. They said they didn't know because they "All of a sudden had an emergency." I'm not sure what that meant. Medcare offers rapid test Covid test. I was told over the phone that you don't need an appointment and was recommended to come in the morning when they opened and call them when I arrive so they can get me signed up. When I arrived ( half hour before they opened) there was one other car waiting. By the time they answered the phone they took my name and number down and said they would call me back. They finally did after a half hour and from that moment on other cars showed up in cue. A nurse never came out in the 2 hours I waited in my car. As I drove off I received a text that I was checked in with a link to their website to show that there were 10 people ahead of me. Just to be clear I was told that there would be a wait of up to 2 hours but the fact that we never saw a patient enter or a nurse come out to test in those 2 hours is beyond my understanding. read more
