It was easy to check in by using the information provided by the host, and our room was comfy and clean! I know in some reviews there were complaints about noise, but it was very quiet while we were there. The only complaint is that there isn't anywhere to store your luggage should you have to leave later. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our things behind the front desk (even though there is an attendant there until 4pm). It just didn't seem like there was a method to it . There are a couple of convenience stores, several restaurants, gelato, and it's on the free shuttle line that takes you around the island. There is a microwave in the lobby, and our room came with a good sized mini fridge. Definitely worth the price and we have found our new Miami location for future stays!

The entire property has a laid-back luxury feel, with beautiful landscaping, comfortable seating areas, and amazing views. Great and friendly staff who kept everything flowing. They didn't have any food where the event was held, only drinks and that was a 10/10 for the mocktails and cocktails. We all had a nice time and I would love to check it out for the full experience with food. They have to get better with getting your car back to you as the wait was 30 minutes for a car that typically costs $45 so your best bet is to uber there. Enjoy!

The owners are SO friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The location is right near Wynwood. The rooms are super clean and have everything you would need (microwave, refrigerator, tv with cable, etc.) It honestly felt like a hotel. It was my first "motel" experience and we really loved it! They were very accomodating to our late night schedule, as well. The outside is undergoing renovations, thus the appearance. Over the last 10 years, stayed at multiple hotels in Calle Ocho because of proximity to Hispanic community, affordable deals, easy access to MIA / Le Jeune / 42nd Street, and quick drive to KEY BISCAYNE. Over the years, all hotels in Calle Ocho changed from exclusively renting on a daily basis towards a more profitable strategy of renting on an hourly basis. If looking for secure and quiet stay, cannot recommend hotel rooms rented on hourly basis. THE REASON: Hourly rentals attracts undesirable company of street-walkers and addicts, which bring police activity in the middle of the night and all the noise that entails. Sunnyside motel has hosted my family of 4 every year since 2005. South American visitors love the idea of spending their lady full day in Miami before departing, and they insist on paying for the room. To their surprise, Sunnyside rates are more affordable than the hotels in South America and the cleanliness is superior, asking to come back on their next trip. I asked repeatedly for an early, 2pm check-in. When I go there around 2:15, the front desk area was in chaos. There were 2 people being waited on and I was first in line, but had to wait for ~10 minutes to get any attention. Even with repeated communication, the room was not ready. My kids were heading into melt down mode. Not a great start. I got a call at 2:45 that my room was ready. We headed back around 4 and then it was the same chaos, and very long wait to get our 1 piece of luggage. Once upstairs, the hotel is very neat and tidy and our room was a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, facing the bay and city. The condition and working order of the room, bathroom, and kitchenette were excellent. We loved the minimalist aesthetic. They did have a happy bday card and some chocolates for me in my room - a very nice touch. The main event downstairs is the pool area. They had a DJ playing vibey lounge music and it was packed with people chilling and drinking as mature adults. Definitely not a wild spring break scene. The pool is heated, too. The best is being in the pool as the sun sets - very magical as the place goes from day to night. Great hotel - lousy front desk. I went to order an empanada from the front and the man that was behind the counter (after taking a 80 payment for 3 food items and 2 coffees..) walked to the front desk gave the girl a hug went outside did some stuff and then came back to make our drinks. I don't even understand what happened there there was one employee working behind and he just walked away. I was told from the front desk that they only have one available cart for us to use and that the carts they had the previous day "disappeared"- the bellman was incredibly rude and laughed at me bc I asked how the carts from yesterday just disappeared... (might've been a bad question but a place like this that is so expensive... it makes no sense to have 1 cart in the entire hotel) I had to ask I believe a manager(Sebastian) he was so incredibly helpful and got us what we needed and really was the only helpful staff member there he rocks, he apologized oh behalf of the other staff and was helpful and patient with the situation! The food was probably the worst food I have ever eaten- they need to figure out that situation first. For the prices they charge I really wanted to tell the chef face to face how bad it was. The fish was over cooked to the point it was literally so crispy like a French fry there was no moisture left in the fish. The fries (were very good) the coleslaw had no flavor it tasted like mayo and cabbage like nothing else seemed to be in it.. somehow bland... The fish was bland. The tartar sauce was bland. Somehow even the horseradish sauce they gave me was bland. It was sincerely the worst fish fry I have ever eaten in my entire life. And I do not say that lightly........Really haven't had an experience like this anywhere else it was utterly ridiculous absolutely laughable for what they charge and the location. The best part if my meal was the fried and ketchup. So sad. The pastries? The chefs makes pretty croissants but the filling is absolutely terrible it was like curry chicken and peppers nothing like a chicken empanada.. didn't have any beef options all in all I would absolutely never recommend this place to anybody ever. Seems like it's going downhill or staff just doesn't care! I've seen the other recent reviews and they aren't great.. Doesn't seem like they let the chefs put anything on the menu themselves and really streamlined the whole thing terribly. I would not recommend this hotel unless you want rude service and terrible food. The only good thing about this place is that it's on the water..

The amenities are great, I particularly loved the heated salt chairs and hot tub. My masseuse was skilled and paid attention to the right areas. The changing room was clean and attendants kept up and were located in the spa which is nice as opposed to trying to track them down. The pool was beautiful but I opted for the beach. There were two servers so it did take quite some time to flag them down and waiting on drinks but overall, enjoyable time. Also, I did take a wrong turn and ended up going to north tower at some point and was locked outside until someone came out so basically exit to the pool the way you came in where valet is. I grabbed lunch in the store downstairs and was pleasantly surprised by the wrap I had.

You can use an app that requests your car by phone (VIP Parker) . The valet is pretty fast and the front desks attendants are all friendly. Once you walk past the lobby the piano room is filled with panoramic windows with the ocean view. The pool is big with plenty of chairs and beds for sun bathing. Gym is modern, very spacious with machines and free weights. They have an additional yoga/class room with virtual class options. All around great workout area. The apartments are gorgeous, everything you need plus a million dollar view!
