Walking distance to a Publix, the mall, bakery, etc. The hotel checkin is on the 6th floor, the first floor is mainly a seating area and concierge. They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. I checked in on the app the day before and picked the room. We parked in the garage, went to the lobby, and got our room keys. As we went to the room, there was a sign on the door indicating the room was occupied. I was surprised and ended up going back to the lobby to see what happened. It turns out that the app was glitchy and we were put in a different room number. The lady behind the counter made adjustments and we were able to stay on the same floor as what I originally picked, but in a different room. The room had a king bed, a fridge, microwave, a TV, drawers, and a bathroom with a shower. It was very clean. We got two drink vouchers to redeem at the lobby/pool bar, which was a plus, to enjoy while we were at the pool. The hotel has a fitness center as well. The continental breakfast provided a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. You must walk through the lobby and across the outside area. The sauna and the one person steam shower is located here. You Check-in then you get changed into the robe and walk across the lobby check-in area to the elevators. You are walking through the area with all the guests and their luggage in your super large robe that doesn't close very well. I did not enjoy this. Some disappointing things which was not their fault is the parking garage construction noise even on Sundays. The noise took away from my spa experience. They did nothing for the noise control. Also, the SPA requests you must arrive 30 minutes before your treatment time. I got my parking validated BUT we stayed for brunch who also validated our parking but we went over the 4 hours so we got no discount for parking and we were charged the full $35 fee plus tip for the valet. The valet staff was quite nasty telling me we were there too long for the discount BUT each one of those alone qualified for a discounted valet. You can not do both in the 4 hour window.

First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. The setup directly at the beach with refreshments was beautiful, as was the pool area, and we were told the pools were heated. After a long day of travel, we received two Prosecco as soon as we checked in and arrived. Our room was upgraded and it was located right across on top of the Naked Taco where the rooftop pool is at. It's perfectly located for anything you want to do, all the good food spots, bars, places, etc. The next day we went straight to the beach and they provide complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas upon request and you just walk yourself to the beach with them. There's nothing like Miami Beach! The water was perfect and it felt so good to just defrost on the sand and dive into the gorgeous turquoise water. After a few hours at the beach, we went back, enjoyed late check out and headed to crunch fitness - which was absolutely worth it! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we worked out, grabbed a late lunch, some drinks and then got to come back and enjoy the rooftop pool during happy hour for drinks and snacks until sunset. Wonderful location, but frustrating stay with odd design choices and very weak service…read more The biggest positive about AC Hotel Miami Dadeland is the location since it's directly connected to the mall, which is incredibly convenient. Unfortunately, much of the rest of the stay was frustrating from the start. Finding where to check in is confusing at first, and before arrival I called to ask if early check-in might be available. I explained that if a room wasn't ready, I'd spend time elsewhere before coming to the hotel. I was told they could not tell me unless I appeared in person, which served no practical purpose and was incredibly annoying. Even then, when I returned by 3:30 p.m. there was no room anyway and we sat in the tiny lobby with our bags. The front desk service was average at best. Not rude, but not welcoming either. I genuinely felt more tolerated than helped, and eventually just avoided interacting with them. I wasn't even told about any amenity they offered or even where the elevators were. Just got my key handed to me - not even telling me my room number. Having spent years working in hospitality many years ago this level of "service" stood out in a bad way. Also, the room layout is one of the strangest I've seen: The sink sits in the middle of the room rather than in the bathroom, so using it at night wakes anyone sleeping. The bathroom has a sliding door (not a pocket door) that remains partially open, and you can literally see the toilet from the bedroom. Privacy is almost nonexistent. Going to the bathroom is basically a team sport. Trash cans have no liners, and when we requested bags they were delivered but not installed. Housekeeping was inconsistent and usually incomplete. The bath mat was routinely left inside the shower, meaning turning on the water could soak it before you even stepped in. The housekeeping staff themselves weren't unfriendly, but they often stood in the hallway having loud conversations, which was disruptive. When you walk by the housekeeping team start doing random things like dusting signage so it seemed they were busy. One true bright spot: the bartender Jocelyn. She was fantastic, welcoming, and made excellent drinks (the Nutella martini is outstanding). Unfortunately, even that was dampened by an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bar bill. I normally tip 20% anyway, but a business deciding that I am going to tip and also the tip amount without clear advance notice is inappropriate and leaves a bad impression. Overall, the hotel feels highly overrated. The location is excellent, but the service, layout, and operational issues made the stay more frustrating than relaxing. I would stay somewhere else next time and simply come back to the bar which ironically the best part of the property.

The staff were absolutely amazing. I called front desk for one item and they sent someone immediately to assist me. Their overall service exceeded my expectations! I'm also an AMEX platinum member and valued the room upgrade and hotel credits I received. I enjoyed all of the amenities from reserving a massage (highly recommend this), to ordering room service for breakfast (which was really good), to enjoying their outdoor pool area (which had a beautiful view and cabanas).
