Happy that we saw Ni Hao Tea as part of the Yelp Sweet 16 celebrations because this definitely fixed our craving for boba! In current COVID times, they are only doing curbside pickup - the online ordering process is easy; they send you a text when the order is ready and bring it to your car after you call on arrival. It felt safe, and the staff was so nice! Now to the boba: you can choose sweetness level (based on percentage), ice level, and toppings which are an additional $0.25-$1.50 depending on type and amount. We opted for the "Specialty" drinks: taro smoothie and taro milk tea. Both were made with freshly steamed taro and included chunks of the taro which added some texture to the drink and complemented the creaminess of the smoothie. It was my first time to have brown sugar and honey boba, and it was so delicious - the boba was soft and just the right amount of chewy. I'm updating my review just to mention that they have changed the formula they use on the taro milk tea and it's not that great anymore. It tastes like fake taro (it's not quite right the same way grape flavored stuff doesn't actually taste like grapes), and there aren't little bits of taro in it anymore. First time stopping in to try this establishment. The place is clean with 6 tables and two leather sofas. As soon as you walk in door you get a good vibe. The music playing and the smell of fresh boba and tea. I didn't know what to order so I asked the tea specialist behind counter. She asked my taste in tea and fruit flavor. I decided on black tea and strawberry flavor. She made me a strawberry milk tea with brown sugar boba. I went with it and it has a nice flavor. Perfect blend of black tea, milk, strawberry syrup and boba. I'm looking at the menu board and I count 38 possibilities of things you can order to try, 14 toppings available, and milk choices. Just wanted to say this is my absolute favorite boba place. They don't have all the options that I've seen at other places, but they are pretty traditional and the boba's were the fluffiest and the tastiest little (perfectly sized) bobas I've ever had. My drink- the Ni Hao milk tea was cool and refreshing and everything I'd hoped for. I got the brown sugar boba for an additional 50c. Regular sweetness, and ice. The large was a little smaller than I hoped for but very good nonetheless. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for boba done the right way! Almost forgot: I LOVE that this place has you place your orders Online and they bring it to the curb/car!! I know this is just because of covid but I'd be thrilled to have them be a drive-thru. I've been really fortunate to have been able to experience boba teas in Asia and really enjoying all the great flavors. I had been meaning to visit here, and finally did when I was out and about with errand runs. I utilized their online ordering and picked their special Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. Their other specialties are Taro and Matcha those flavors I've had before and could get in others places. The Brown Sugar one felt very unique! And it did not let me down!!! Today was my first visit to No Hao, and they absolutely nailed their first impression! The shop is a really warm and charming space, combining exposed brick and interesting light fixtures with little potted plants and lanterns. Most importantly, of course, the drinks are delicious. At the manager's recommendation, I got the Ni Hao Tea with brown sugar boba. It was wonderful! In addition to the great flavors, I really love that you can customize your drink's level of sweetness from 0% to 100%. I tend not to like super sweet things, so I went with 0% and just got the perfect subtle sweetness from the boba. I also got to try the matcha tea with boba and the red bean smoothie with boba, and both were excellent. Also, bonus points to Ni Hao for having an extremely clean, well-kept bathroom! Finally a legit bubble tea place in Tucson! I've been in twice now and am super impressed with their offerings. The drinks are fresh, service friendly, and the space is clean and cute. I've had their matcha with brown sugar boba and the mango slush with brown sugar boba. The matcha was high quality and the mango slush was the best I've ever had. In fact, I'm so used to artificial tasting mango boba that I was a little hesitant to get this. But it was stellar and left me wishing I got a large! My friend got the taro smoothie and was also happy with it. They use real taro which really makes the smoothie. Ni Hao really emphasizes the use of premium ingredients and it shows. In addition to the taste, I'm so glad they have options for all dietary needs and preferences. Their fresh milk drinks are made with lactose free dairy and their other milk teas are made with plant based creamer. They also have a honey soaked boba and a brown sugar soaked boba which is a great option if you're vegan. Although there are no caffeine free milk teas, their slushies and smoothies are caffeine free. Finally, you can adjust sweetness in increments of 25% without diluting the flavor of the drink. Came here and after it finally reopened! When we went on a Fri afternoon at 2pm. It was not crowded, though I do wonder if it's because people don't know this place has opened again yet. The person at the register was nice, admitting it was his first day on the job, and when he was unable to definitively answer our questions, he grabbed his superior. They were nice and even pulled out there milk substitute packaging so we could look at the ingredients and look for anything that may contain gluten in it. Decent amount of seating. Chairs could have been a little more comfortable, but no major issues. After the first couple drinks, the rest came out slowly; we were a party of five that ordered separately. I got the ni hao milk tea, 25% sweet, less ice. I was pleasantly surprised that the outcome was a drink that tasted more like tea and less like sweetener, or cream. This is a nice change compared to most other tea places here in Tucson that taste more like sugar water, mildly flavored milk, or just (weakly) tea flavored water. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, and my gluten intolerant friend did not appear to have any issues with what she ordered which is another plus! If it was a bit closer to me, I could see myself coming here more often. Definitely one of the better milk tea places in Tucson! Side notes: Nata jelly is pretty much lychee jelly. Also, apparently they didn't have the oreo milk tea/slush? I'm not sure but one friend was told their first choice wasn't available. It does run on the sweeter side, I got a 75% sweetness which still tasted very sweet so if you like the tea flavor more, I suggest going 50%. I love this place! It's cozy and a great place to chill out. However I just wish they had larger drink sizes. The largest they have is just so so small... My favorite spot to get boba tea! Love their brown sugar milk boba flavor. It's so creamy and you can customize your sweetness and ice level with all their drinks. They used to offer curbside delivery, but currently customers will have to take out their orders. Their staff is always so nice and considerate. Once I placed an order with a pick up time 1 hr earlier than I intended. I realized my mistake after the drinks were made so I called and asked if they could put it in the fridge to stay cold until I got there. After I arrived they remade the drinks (without my asking) even though it was my mistake. That's really excellent service and shows they care about their customers :) read more

Our new go-to boba spot in Tucson! They have wide selections of drinks to choose from; ranging from fruit teas, milk teas, to slushes. Also lots of topping options, such as cream cheese, grass jelly, red bean, and even varieties of boba! Sweetness is customizable. Plus, good prices and a really friendly, helpful staff. We walked in and were greeted right away. The staff was very knowledgeable about the teas/toppings they had in-store. I ended up getting the Hokkaido Milk Tea with Grass Jelly at 50% sweet and my brother got the Taro Slush with Boba and Cream Cheese topping at 50% sweet (all based on the staff's recommendation). Both drinks were delicious! The Hokkaido was soft, creamy, and aromatic, plus the yummy grass jelly! The Taro was out-of-this-world good! I loved that they had chunks of taro in the blend, added great texture to the already-yummy drink. The boba was great size and texture, soft and chewy. And the cream cheese topping on it? Divine! Awesome new boba shop! The quality of their teas is top notch! Great, rich flavors and not at all diluted. The boba is the perfect amount of chewiness and softness. I got the brown sugar milk tea and I loved the strong brown sugar flavor. I think next time I will go with half sweetness though, as the sweetness did get a little hard to drink towards the end. My BF got the black tea with cheese which I had never seen before be offered in a boba shop, but had heard about and really wanted to try. Very unique flavor for sure, the cheese definitely gets very rich towards the end, but mixed in, it tastes great. Would also recommend half sweetness for that one too. I want to come back to try the ceremonial grade matcha teaI also love the space. A perfect place to catch up with friends, play some games, and enjoy some quality tea! Update: still 5 stars! Came for the yelp elite event. They now have oat milk as yet another option for us dairy sensitive people and it still tastes AMAZING. My friend and I tried this place because of the high reviews. We ordered pick up and our drinks would take awhile to be made. MATCHA LATTE- ceremonial grade matcha imported from Japan with free whole milk The matcha was too light for me. It didn't have that earthy flavor I was looking for. It was overly sweet and needed more matcha even at 75% sweetness . I might order this again, but maybe at 25% sweetness. The HONEY BOBA I added was too chewy, almost to the point it didn't have that nice chewy jelly texture but was getting all clumped together. The CREAM CHEESE on top didn't mix well with the drink. The drink was already sweet and the cheese made it even sweeter. STRAWBERRY LEMON TEA- with aloe jelly This drink was okay at best. It was overly sweet with artificial flavors. The strawberry was syrup-y. The jelly added some texture to the drink, but overall I didn't like the flavor. The lemon tea was tart, which cut the sweetness a little, but the sweetness was still overwhelming. Every drink that we ordered would come out sticky or dirty. I don't think they wipe down their cups before they hand them to the customers or they're just dirty when they prepare them. Overall, it may have the highest reviews in tucson, but I still haven't found a drink that I liked yet. I don't think I'll be back for a while. Time to try another place. read more
